    More Information:
    American pancakes are totally fat/phat in comparison to the thin little Irish ones we eat on this grassy island. We asked our chef make up some fat stacks for the contributors to chow down and they were happier than they've ever been in any video so far.

    • @IDiggPattyMayonnaise
      @IDiggPattyMayonnaise Před 7 lety +2

      Spunky Monkey It's funny because every facts video is basically them loving our "disgusting versions." Also, by your logic then PIZZA AND PASTA are in fact Chinese because the ideas were stolen by Italian explorers--most likely Marco Polo. Also tomatoes were not native to Italy, tomatoes were brought from Peru by Spanish Conquistadors, so naturally Peruvians probably invented tomato sauce. Minced meat patties have been around since the Roman era and in Asian countries, so not German then. A lot of foods today are only renowned because of its Americanization--wings, hot dogs, burgers, pizza, fried chicken, BBQ, etc.

    • @1jurosado
      @1jurosado Před 5 lety +26

      @@kbaca9415 In a word, yes. Bacon is different just about everywhere, American bacon would just be sliced pork belly in most places while a leaner, thicker, more ham-like, meat would be called bacon (as in Canadian bacon) or perhaps something closer to a thin dry-cured ham (As in German speck). At any rate, don't expect American bacon outside of the United States unless it is advertised as such. That said, bacon from all around the world is tasty, the only times i've regretted eating bacon is when I was offered turkey bacon (gross) and vegan bacon (even worse). Maybe they are getting better with the flavor but that texture is just too hard to replicate with anything other than the real McCoy. This was way more than you probably asked for but it's late, i'm wired, and super bored.

      Have yet to see a tasty version of Vegemite though. I've tried it, I know they put it on their babies binkies to make them sleep better. It reminds me of that Raisin pastey looking candy they have in Mexico that tastes sweet then sets your throat on fire. Vegimite doesn't set your throat on fire BUT THEN AGAIN can't say it tastes sweet either. Back to pancakes though, I just got done with wifey time and just hitting the tube a bit while I unwind. I bet I could talk her into going out for pancakes. That IHOP is sitting there waiting for us, calling to us. Then again, I"ve got blueberries out on my bushes ready for picking. I'll let the chickens out tomorrow morning grab some and some Strawberries and it'll be sooooooo good. Nothing lke home grown.

    It's just too hard to beat good (American) pancakes with maple (or maple-flavored) syrup. The extra crap isn't necessary.
    Good pancakes do not have to be thick. I like mine about 3mm thick, but they are still fluffy. They need to be made with buttermilk, as well. And covered with some butter, too. Sausage or bacon make a nice side for them.
