More than likely, you are the only one who sees and know where your mistakes are. It’s still cute!

We all take these fix-it shortcuts!! Very few people will see any errors.

Hi Hannah! I really like your fireman quilt! It is so fun and I am sure your nephew will love it. We all have to make "adjustments" to our quilts from time to time. I have a 3 yard quilt using Puppy Pals fabric from a few years ago. I ended up having to piece one of my blocks due to a mis-cut. I knew how I was going to quilt it so tried to hide my piecing seam in the line of quilting. Worked out great and is not noticeable at all. We all goof from time to time and you are right that we are the only one who will notice. This was a really great video!! Thanks so much.

No one would have ever notice! I have done it many times because my cutting skills had a mind of their own

I made this pattern and managed to choose 2 directional fabric. So instead of doing stripe piecing for the sashing, I had to cut each cornerstone and set it in separately. It was a good lesson to pay attention to my pattern choice and requirements. I also seam ripped when I understood my problem and had to fix it.

Great save on the quilt block! And what a great idea. I would not have noticed it at all especially with that print.

Hannah, your growth as a quilter is tremendous. I'm always happy when you are the featured sewist because your enthusiasm and joy are inspiring and remind me of myself back in the 70s and 80s when I began quilting. 🎶💐💖🫂

Hello Hannah, great video today showcasing, the quilt that you made. I really liked how you went through and explained everything in detail. I think all the videos on fabric Cafe should be done this way it was perfect. Thanks again I saved this video for future reference. ♥️

Another great video explaining step by step instructions including mistakes, how I so appreciate your including those!! Mistakes only make that quilt more unique.
I made Suite Times with directional pink elephants. I cut out the strips but then cut the blocks and chain pieced to the sashing so I could turn my elephant block the right direction. Then I cut my unit pieces. Hope that made sense!
    Really enjoy your series!

I was thinking recently how we hadn't seen Hannah for a while! I did not see the extra strip in the block until you pointed it out even when the camera focused close in beforehand. Good to see these corrections as it shows how easy it is to fix them. Valerie's quilt is fantastic too. These quilts are all so versatile and easy to tweak. Brilliant as always 😀

I have done the same thing a couple of times due to both error on my part and by not having quite enough fabric. One of the times I was working with a larger print so I ended up matching the repeats like wallpaper before sewing them. It actually turned out pretty good and no one could tell (until I pointed it out which I know you're not supposed to do.) But as my grandmother would say "You'll never see it on a trotting horse."

Your experience with the miscut reminds me of one of the huge lessons I am learning: no one sees your mistakes besides you. I am almost compelled to point out where my seams are off or my freemotion butterflies were badly done but no one else who saw the quilt saw or cared.

I have had to modify cut sizes like Hannah did for the sashing because I prefer to prewash my fabrics (for a variety of reasons) and sometimes the fabric shrinks so much that I can't get the cut sizes specified. Thankfully, math is my jam...so no stress!
