    I loved seeing the patterns made up in various fabrications. That is what I love about the 3 Yard Quilts you have designed. Sometimes I take one of my kits and open each of the four books I have in my stash, and imagine what that fabric would do in each pattern. Using your Fabric One, Two and Three system makes these kits really successful.

    I would love to see you do a "trunk show" video of various patterns of yours that all used stripes in one of the fabric placements. I have sub-folders on my computer in my Fabric Cafe Folder, with all the titles of your patterns that I've bought. Recently I started a folder titled, "Patterns With Stripes" - so I'm hoping you'll give me some more for it.
    It's funny how seeing a pattern in a different colorway will suddenly make me want to make that pattern when previously I wasn't as excited about it. And often I'll think, "I have just the fabric for that pattern!" Of course every week I see you display new kits that I would also like to buy, but I have to discipline myself and say, "What do I already have that I can use to make in that pattern?" And often I change my mind about your kits that I've already bought for one pattern and decide to use it in another pattern. So many choices, so little time . . .

    • @FabricCafe
      @FabricCafe  Před 3 lety +2

      We published a whole show on how to work with striped fabric on May 25, 2021. That might fit what you are looking for. Donna

    • @newbeequilter
      @newbeequilter Před 3 lety +1

      @@FabricCafe - Yes, I did watch that video when it came out on May 25. But it only showed "Gallery" and "Sew Quick" patterns actually made up in complete quilt tops vs the Pieces and Parts you displayed for kits.
      I realize you can't make a video out of everyone's request; I'm just making a suggestion for down the road after you've made still more patterns and used stripes in them. Perhaps you'd be willing to share in a video pictures that your customers have made using stripes in additional patterns. Until then, I'll check out Pintrest.

    I love Batiks...6 months ago I didn’t even know what BATIK meant!🤓 But, my question is....Would it be OK to put a normal quilting cotton on the back of a pieced batik front or is that a NO NO???

    • @FabricCafe
      @FabricCafe  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Rita, The main consideration is how you will launder the quilt after it is finished. The one thing to remember about mixing Batiks and regular cotton is that the Batiks have already experienced immersion in hot water. So in essence, they are preshrunk. I use regular, high quality cotton on the backs of most of my quilts, even batiks. If you plan to launder the quilt you might consider overcasting the edges of regular cotton and prewashing it so that any shrinkage happens before the quilt is assembled. Donna

    • @FabricCafe
      @FabricCafe  Před rokem

      That's exactly right! 1 kit will make a lap quilt, approx. 45"x60". 2 kits will make a twin and 4 kits will make a queen/king. There are instructions in any of our books that talk about how to enlarge the patterns. The individual patterns only include the sizes for the lap.
