Thank you for sharing your story. People judge your sexual preferences instead of you as a person. Changes and feelings are based on society norm. Many persons out there including myself have many mental battles when it comes to being entirely honest to our families but as we cross that bridge we will definitely get there in being free mentally. We couldn't agree more Sophia. We remain hopeful as we have seen the world make so many advances in the last few years when it comes to advocating for the rights of many minority groups. But we can only hope that it continues on this path and that it is TRUE change that occurs.

Your story is similar to mine Brian. I got a 12 page letter full of scriptures from my mother. I "came out" when I took mom to the house that my partner and I were building in Los Angeles. She was stunned and the tolerance began. Thanks for sharing your story.

We are so happy that the story has been able to resonate with you! From experience both of us know it’s a super difficult process especially when it’s family (especially when it’s a Caribbean background 😆). Just know that it’s exactly that though, a process. Things may not be great at first (we hope they are though) but with time things get better. And through the difficult times don’t be afraid to call on your chosen family to back you up. It's really hard to come out through the process you get to lose the people you love,am glad you are free,till today I always think how am going to pull this off
It really is a battle but definitely one that you should not feel pressured to do before you are ready. It is for you to do in your own time if you see fit. Just know though that you deserved to be loved as your true authentic self regardless of who you love. You definitely have support and community in us here 💜

I came out when I was 11 years old in 1975 to a very strict southern Baptist family. I am third of eight kids! I was disowned and put in a Catholic Boys Home. I was devastated

What profession do you guys have and how do you support each other in it and how do you see your personal growth and DEVELOPMENT. How you resolve conflict and issues in your relationship? How do you Alex keep the smile and romance and intimacy in the relationship?
Well Brian is primarily a flight attendant/realtor, and Alec has been a banker for the last few years. In terms of support within our professions that is kind of difficult. What we do try to do is just be SUPPORTIVE overall, of each other’s dreams and aspirations, and be that listening ear for those annoying days at work.
For conflict it’s really just about being able to keep the lines of communication open, and not bulldozing each other. Acknowledging when we have hurt each other and trying to do better going forward.
For the last part we love each other’s company so the smiles come naturally. Also just truly wanting to see your partner happy and intrigued we find interesting ways of keeping the love alive.

Hey Doreen 👋! Well we’re glad you found us and have been seeing value in our content so far. I might take you up on that suggestion actually and put pen to paper, to be able to share my story in another way that could reach on audience that isn’t via CZcams. I 100% agree that Jamaica has come a far way but has further to go, and that’s a huge part of the reason we started sharing our lives the way we have here. It was in the hope that we could not only normalize queer love that others could relate to but also to humanize our community showing others we are just the same as them, people who just want the equal right to be able to love proudly and loudly.

So both of our fathers have been and still are present in our lives. However, even though we are sharing very intimate aspects of our lives I think we both are in a position where we needed to resolve or come to terms with certain realities with our individual relationships with them before we feel comfortable sharing on a bigger, public platform. We know it is a rough road to travel and probably still is. But there's no rush. It will happen at the time it should and when it feels right to you.
Body chemistry is spiritual when you try to manipulate it the end will blow your mind next is EXPOSAY.
The journey of same sex sexuality is a horror movie. So many water passed under the bridge. But at last you will get to your destination .
