Baekhyun have a hard time for the first recording of wolf in 2013, he didn't said back then exactly that song but he said he was having a hard time that's why the story of his fearless bracelet it was a gift from one of his teachers, she told him he used to be fearless but at that time he wasn't so she gave him that bracelet with the fearless engraved so he always remember that, years later baekhyun said wolf was one if not the most difficult song for him and is that infamous demo you can heard he have a hard time but he overcome and now he can do pretty much everything

Chen, Baekhyun and D.O have vocal lessons all the time. They keep improving and improving. Chen himself had said that he doesn't like people telling him his vocals are perfect because he still has a lot to learn. They are very humble. 👏🏼

you know i remember yixing (a member of exo) once told a trainee when you are hitting a note it's better to make it look like it's a hard thing even if it's easy for you, you know for the show, to impress ppl. so i'm thinking it's what the vocal teachers (at least in sm entertainment) teach them. it makes sense tho, i've seen a lot of ppl's reaction to these kind of vocal performances and except vocal teachers everyone else (regular ppl) always seem very impressed when a singer do this like when their neck veins pop out (you once said it looks uncomfortable), so i thing it's ok, for the show
When he said that exo is one of the best vocal groups he’s heard in his lifetime, I felt that. I honestly believe they have the best vocal line in Kpop and looking at it even closer i would say that in general ,even outside of kpop, exo has some of the best singers in general.

Everytime I watch your reaction I just can't help but want you to meet Baekhyun bc he would LOVE to know your opinions about him. He meets many vocal coaches everytime he has time to improve even more. I hope you can react to their recent Universe and Cosmic railway performance it showcases their singing a lot and yeah Baekhyun sometimes do it in more difficult way bc they kind of are told they look cool on stage when their veins on neck can be seen

You spoke before about the listener being able to feel when a sound is hard to make, and I noticed that today when I was watching Baekhyun sing that note in a more difficult way. Watching that bit of strain definitely make the listener empathetic, even though we tend to enjoy the resulting sound.

It's really interesting with "Wolf" because EXO came out with this song when they were still a newbie group, and it's definitely one of their more challenging songs to sing. I'm proud of how much they've improved with handling all those notes! Though they've always been incredible.
I love how hyped Sam gets when talking about vocals. You can tell he’s good at what he does and truly cares about these vocals. There’s a kind of passion there, maybe the same you would see in a singer
Baekhyun had to start from scratch on his singing and vocals when he joined sm, but literally only had a few months to change it as that was when they were deciding on what members to put in the group. Also fun fact is that Chen and baekhyun were actually cast from the same sm audition about a year before Exo debuted. Check out miracles in December which is Chen baekhyun and d.o and el dorado !!!!!

When I go to watch “reactions” this is what I look for. Interesting, informative and honest. Barcellina what u said about EXO is honestly the most relatable thing I’ve ever heard, they are truly such a talented group 🙏🏼❤️
My inner EXO-L just screamed when I heard good things about the vocal line. Suho, Chanyeol, Xiumin and Lay have wonderful voices too!!! Kai has a unique, sweet sounding voice but he still has some improving to do. You'll get to find out with time. They have like the highest concentration of good singers in a single KPOP group.
I LOVE WHEN YOU REACT TO EXO. I feel proud of them and I learn a lot about singing and voice control ❤
EXO and other SM artists maintain their vocals while dancing through their practice of singing while running on treadmills. But I totally agree that EXO has incredible vocals, and each of their vocalists has a different tone and color to their voice. Baekhyun has that gritty tone almost like a rock singer (I heard he learned to do those kinds of high notes from TVXQ's Changmin, since they both have similar vocal styles). D.O. has a smooth R&B tone that's rich like chocolate. Chen's voice is unique in pitch and he can hit some incredible high notes. There's Suho, whose vocal style is more like warm butter on toast and makes you feels happy. Xiumin's voice is soft and he's EXO's secret high note king, as he can sing notes higher than what Chen can hit (which you can hear whenever you listen to EXO-CBX). And lastly, there's Lay who has a gentle voice that maybe isn't as refined as everyone else's, but it has a sweet tone to it that feels like being wrapped up in a fluffy blanket. Without that vocal variety, EXO wouldn't be EXO. Even the rappers have really nice singing voices! And the blending they do with all that vocal variety is just amazing. I think checking out EXO's MAMA (which was actually the song that opens the concert that this video of Wolf takes place in) would be intriguing, since it has Gregorian chanting and a heavy metal sound that highlights how awesome their blended vocals work in even such a strange musical setting.
I always thought it was obvious that they strain when they are out of breath BUT I NEVER thought that some sing that way ON PURPOSE! I can't believe that this could either be a trick or a musical choice. Wow, I learned something new! Thanks Sam.

I was subbed to your channel back when you only had 10 videos and now you've reached beyond 120k subs!!! congrats! Barcenilla's comment on how it'd feel to be a producer or a sound engineer and to be working with exo in a recording studio made me think of ReacttotheK's Kcon series where the show runner, Umu, invited two or three western producers that have worked in the Kpop scene and also some of exo's title tracks, and they showcased the raw vocals from the recording! other western producers also vocalized on how enjoyable it is to work with the boys haha
SM entertainment (the label that exo is signed into) as one of the main 3 entertainment companies in South Korea is of course providing the groups with the best training, and producers that they can give due to the prestige they have, somewhat like a very expensive and prestigious private school. And because they are one of the top 3, getting signed into the company itself is like the equivalent of the hunger games, the CEO of the other main 3 entertainment company didn't even get in even with his talent haha. SM mainly produces a quantity of vocal groups, which is why most of their songs have a segment where the members showcase their harmonies and such their songs are better in acapella. They also invest mainly on the music producers, and this shows on how most of the songs produced from SM are so different to one another and would usually be a trend setter (some are even ahead of its time). The idols in SM are paid only around 10-20% of the profit of the sales, which is not shocking because getting and reaching out to western sound engineers, music producers, and such requires such an amount of money, i think they even got grammy winning producers to write some songs for a group in SM too!
