This was their first year of debut, I wonder how would they sound now that they improved a lot.

Baekhyun's favorite word is fearless. When he was a trainee, he got to fear singing for a while. And a staff of the company gave him a bracelet that was graven a word, fearless. He wore it everyday and once he overcame the fear, he didnt wear it anymore. Now, he become a fearless singer. So proud of him

It's kinda astonishing when you think about these two are doing this performance shortly after their debut after only a few months/a year of being a trainee at SM (the company EXO is with), two of the shortest trainee periods in kpop~ (Though, while they were applauded and praised for the performance, I think they actually lost the episode...Somebody will correct me, if I'm wrong, I'm sure.)
It's interesting that you bring up the word "fearless", cause shortly after debut Baekhyun was struggling with his singing, and one of the staff at SM told him she wanted the fearless Baekhyun back & gave him a bracelet with an engraving that essentially means "Fearless Baekhyun/Beakhyun, who has no fears" that he used to always wear. Once he regained his confidence, he stopped wearing it as much, and now he even seems to loan it to other members of EXO when they are going through a time of doubt. The phrase means so much to him that Baekhyun uses the word "Fearless" in several of the designs for a clothing line he's a co-creative director for^.^

and that's why i want them to guest and sing in this show again. if i remember correctly the judges said they haven't grasp the emotion of the song yet because they are still young or something similar to that. i want them to perform on this show again, 5 years later, not as rookies anymore, and with so much more experience and so much improvement. if only sm actually has a brain to send them to immortal song again :(
wuyishuan I don’t think it’s their performance that didn’t win that day. I’ve watched the full episode and never ever desired to watch the winner’s performance again; it was ordinary. That day these little boys lost to “seniority”. They couldn’t let two teenagers beat their sunbae.

EXO debuted since 2012. They only did individual projects after that. Chen got a lot of OST songs, Baekhyun had a lot of colaboration with different singers, D.O had a lot of drama and movies, Lay had movies and solo albums, Suho had a few musicals and other members had different projects too like endorsements and movies. They are all versatile. They are the most awarded kpop group as per Guinness but they've always been so humble. That's what makes us EXO-L love them more.

You just said, "fearless singers" now reminds me how EXO is really a fearless group when it comes to their music. Their music has no genre in particular as they go from rock to hip hop, pop to reggae, ballad to electronic, acoustic to rnb and etc. They don't follow the trend, they create the trend cause they are fearless. I've been following them two years now and it's so funny how back then I can't find a right term to simply appreciate them, just now after you said these two (Chen and Baekhyun) are "fearless singers" lol.

I must say they got natural talent. These 2 from EXO train singing for a few months only; less than a year. But they were already so good on their first year of debut + yes, they are fearless singers. They would go all out and they don't hesitate. That's what I love about them. Some singers control their voices too much. Chen and Baekhyun are amazing singers 👍

just to help out, baekhyun is pronounced more like bake-hyUHn. first half is bake as in baking cookies, second half similar to the youn- in the word young, just with an h in front of it.
JoJo Gee it’s actually more Bek but with a softer B that sounds a bit like a P, and the hyun is more like Hyon but a bit airy

It's about time! lol Thank you... Baekhyun's voice is unlike anything I've ever heard. It gives me chills. Sometimes KPOP idols train for YEARS before debuting... (like literally 2,3, ...7 years) Baekhyun trained for four months before debuting in EXO. It just seems to come so naturally to him. Even when he's just speaking or joking around his voice is melodic. (and he is not my bias)
For the record, Chen is amazing too. I believe he debuted after just a few months as well.

Though Baekhun’s voice is amazing, my favorite EXO voice is Chen’s. I saw this episode and these kids lost not because of lack of “emotion” as they disguised it, they actually said that they had not yet experienced in person the emotions ( falling in love and the subsequent heartbreak) that the writer of the song intended, the truth was that they did so good they put their sunbaes or seniors to shame. They were also in an episode of Immortal Songs where they were a part of a team... needless to say their other team members did not perform at the level these two young men did. Had the judging been fair, they would have won.

Yes! My EXO is fearless! Not just in their singing but in their music in general. They are never afraid to take risks or experiment with their music or sound. That seems especially true now since they’re pushing seven years. Their experience is really starting to show. Gosh, they just keep getting better with age!

Baekhyun's my EXO bias so I always love watching reactions on his solo/unit performances! I remember when I first watched this I was so impressed. I've learned Baekhyun is kind of pronounced like Beck-yun (2 syllable and the B almost sounds like a P)

Please react to chen's performances in king of the mask. That's a competition show where competitors wear mask in order not to get votes by their popularity or fame in the industry and just get judged by their performance there. Chen had 2 live performances in the show, stained and drunken truth and he did really well so that all of the judges were amazed.

They are singing in a program called Immortal Songs, where artists of this generation perform songs that made history in Korea. The lady who appears in the video is the owner of the song. They lost because they supposedly did not show enough emotion... :/

I can highly recommend Exo White Noise + Thunder + Playboy + Artificial Love. This video of one of their concerts just shows what great performer they are. I think it´s around 13 minutes long, but as a EXO-L you have to watch it at least once.
