Today's reaction is to K-pop girl group Red Velvet performing their song Psycho (215million views on their MV but today I'll be using the live version). Join me in reacting to this group for the first time and explore ways timbre can be affected by your soft palate + why some sounds can be harder to sing quickly than others.

It’s understandable she doesn’t know them and the camera angles aren’t really helping either.
Unfortunately Wendy was seriously injured in a stage accident on Christmas 2019, only a few weeks after Psycho was released, and very soon after this performance was recorded. She was hospitalized for months with serious injuries to her pelvis, wrist and face. Fortunately for us all she now seems to be back at 100% sassy moon power! Check out her new releases, especially "Like Water".
I'm glad to hear she has recovered but that's horrible that it happened in the first place.
According to an announcement from SM Entertainment(their management company), Red Velvet will be having a comeback sometime in early 2021.

they did release their cover of boa's "milky way" four months ago, and wendy (along with the rest of girls, of course) was able to show her skills there, too! another song I would recommend is rbb (really bad boy), as they use their vocals heavily there (interestingly, too).
Wendy, the "snow fairy" is currently the only girl in Kpop at the moment with a full 4 octave range.
I'm glad you noticed their different tonalities. SM was very careful when they put this group together. When they sing ( and especially when they harmonize ) together, they sound like a whole choir.
actually Eunji of Apink also has 4 octaves, well Wendy and Eunji actually have 4 octaves and 1 note, so they share that title

wendy being called “snow fairy” by someone who barely know them is gotta be the sweetest thing ever. despite sounding like a wind chime here she actually has a powerful voice, i hope there will be more chance for you to check out their other songs in the future. thank you for the reaction 💖

"Snow fairy" is Wendy. She was raised in Canada and the USA for most of her life so her English is really good.

Actually Wendy is not native English, she had moved to study in US when she was at grade 5 and then moved to Canada and continued her study til graduated her high school before came back to KR to become a singer, the total was only 7 years. But the point is how she can pronounce very clear and good tone like that! She must work so hard about her English and it really shows how good she is

Being the main vocalist doesn’t mean getting ad-libs. She gets the ad-libs cos she’s very capable of them and her voice goes perfect with it.

The one in middle, Irene, is the main rapper and the one with plaid coat is Yeri, the lead rapper. What you can expect with artists from SM entertainment is that they are all vocalists :)

The billboard had nominated them, Red Velvet as the best girl group alive with all the 5 members super talented vocally, visual, dancing and distinct personality that compliments each other. They're subpar with mamamoo, but more towards harmonizing Queens. And the "snow fairy" mentioned was one of the greatest korean idol vocalists.

I really like your channel, it was so surprising to me to see a Red Velvet reaction video here but I love it. So interesting how you gve your opinion about their vocal ability. The one with the more "fair" distribution of lines is the song that they did that is Milky Way. The song Milky Way is a remake by their senior artist in the same label called BoA to commemorate her 20th anniversary in the industry.

Psycho is the song that's still ruling high on the SK Music Charts more than 1 yr since it's release. So yeah, it is a very catchy song, and we like to call it Maknae Queen. 🤭 I'm a ReVeluv and I'm super stoked to have chanced upon this review.

But also Yes I am so glad that you are finally reacting to Red Velvet they are such an amazing Group as you can see, and their Vocals and Visuals are insane all of them are! Also the one that you have been calling Snow Fairy that is Wendy she is Canadian so she can speak English very well she also is one of the best Vocalists of this Generation her Vocals can go on for a very long time and her Vocal Colors are insane!
