Victor and Logan spend the next century as soldiers, fighting in the American Civil War, both World Wars, and the Vietnam War. In Vietnam, the increasingly violent Victor attempts to rape a Vietnamese woman, and kills a senior officer who tries to stop him. James happens upon the fight and defends Victor, resulting in the pair being sentenced to execution by firing squad, which they survive due to their mutant healing abilities.

@@Whaltteri in the comic's there was a story where Magneto completely Remove's wolverine's Adamantium from his Body and this caused him to become a Feral Mindless Beast and the reason was that the Adamantium was a little poison to Wolverine's Body and that why's it blocked his Second Mutation and this Second Mutation was his Feral form . so in the same way of manner . in theory Victor all so has that mutation too but it never got stopped Basically Victor is his in Final Mutation stage and this explain's his look in the First X men movie .

Fun fact: Liev Schreiber was originally going to wear a latex muscle suit for this role, but when he saw how bad he looked, he was determined to not need the suit at all. So he trained and dieted like Hugh Jackman and put on pounds and pounds of muscle.

This movie opening can never be disrespected because it captured their origin rather well.

That opening scene could easily be a trilogy. That is the only good part of the entire movie. I would have liked to see them realize their abilities back in the 1800s then fight in wars with some moral objective (Civil War and eventually WW2), but eventually Wolverine sees the mental instability of Sabertooth and how constant war has changed him. It all culminating in Sabertooth committing war crimes in Vietnam leading to them becoming enemies. A dark comic book hero journey as one slowly becomes a villain. That is where I feel the origin story should have gone. I'm just glad Logan redeemed the status because that movie was solid.
Mostly for Wolverine though. They were never brothers in the comics. However, the whole abusive father aspect in particular was true to Sabretooth's backstory in the comics.

That's what I originally thought but I think he said it sarcastically like he was bored, the rest of the movie gives no indication his healing factor is weaker than Logans, especially shrugging off terrible Deadpools point blank optic blast, and being stabbed plenty of times like nothing, it's a common misconception but victors healing factor is just as good if not better than Logans

@haziqsofian You also have to take into account that Stryker knew Victor was worse than Logan, as Logan had morals while Victor didn't. Can you imagine how dangerous Victor would be with the adamantium bonded to his skeleton compared to Logan?

In essence, you are correct that X-men is a part of the Marvel universe. The problem is that outside of the fantasy world, X-men and Marvel were two separate franchises. Logan was able to heal faster, and take more damage, but over all strength goes to Sabretooth.
Logans only stronger due to the better healing factor, that’s why he’s able to get adamantium.

Wolverine could've even made a slight reference to captain America in his time fighting world war 2. Something akin to "Victor: heard there's some super powered boy scout fighting in this war"
Or, maybe the origin film of Wolverine would have had its first half lean closely to the comics detailing his origins (the Howlett Estate, and Rose O'Hara). The middle part would be where he meets Sabretooth, a Kindred Spirit, when enlisting to Weapon X. Then, after a few morally-ambiguous missions would Logan leave the group due to personal reasons; but Weapon X forces him to be on the run until he finally gets captured, and experimented. The final half would be where Logan was treated like an unwitting lab rodent who got his mind constantly wiped until he snaps, attack the handlers like it's a horror movie, and escapes into the wilderness.
When people start saying "you are special, join me". I suggest run in the opposite direction.

This film was grossly underrated... The historical opening was outstanding... and although Ryan Reynolds annoyed the shit out of me, Liv Schreiber almost stole the whole show as Sabertooth. It would be have been awesome to see him return to the role.
No, it still isn't good. Logan just watches the rest of the team the entire operation, why exactly was he brought along? And if SubZero had been given the adamantium bullets the movie would have been over an hour early, which is why they the bullets aren't introduced until SubZero is dead. They were hoping you would forget.
