      Just wish this hobby wasn't as expensive as it is 90% of my build this time as been second hand equipment with exception of one of my ASHP being new other I picked up for £200" food treatments and heat are the most expensive

    Hi Kev, you've come along way since your old pond and it definitely shows loads better, did your old pond have a old unused bottom drain beneath it, when you started demolishing old pond I was surprised to see bottom.drain there so watched it again thinking I had heard wrong lol, what yr was that with the heavy snow was it 2010/2011 I think that was the yr my front steps and front garden disappeared under huge snowdrifts and was going to clear it till it got past my nether regions lol, it wiped out most of plants in front garden, it looks quite deep in areas in your pic, stay safe.
    Rob.

      @AKoiEnthusiast  Před 3 lety

      The original build did not have a bottom drain but after a few years I put one in when I upgraded to an Eazy Pod. I used the original 4" pipe but added a new Aerated Unit to it and then extended it to reach the Oase Filter and yes I think it was 2011 because of the old Summer House.

      @@AKoiEnthusiast now it makes sense, when you put b/d in was you still able to use liner you had in, I bet when you was putting b/d in you was why didn't I put this bleep bleep b/d in from start, or is that just me although there would be quite a few more bleeps if it was me lol.

    Hi Kev great video I’m looking at building a pond next year would you recommend the box weld liner ?

    • @AKoiEnthusiast
      @AKoiEnthusiast  Před 3 lety +1

      Cheers for watching and Yes at the time I never even thought about Fibre glassing. I hate seeing stuff in the pond especially excess line at the corners. There is potential for fish loss and dead areas in the folds so I went for a Box Weld Liner and it was brilliant and so easy to fit. It looks the part too.
