Thanks brother for this. If anyone is trying to do this please let me know and I’ll gladly help you with your build!!
You have a hell of a build, making some nice power - keep up the great work. I appreciate you taking time to answer some of my questions & letting me highlight your channel.
@@RTLife thank you si much for the information because my dream car is a dodge charger hellcat and now I can make this come true with a 5.7 or a 6.4 thanks again
TA Life Fallen Angel, can u do something like this on a 2006 dodge charger rt 5.7 ?? Lmk and how can I contact you??
Hi I’d like to do this. I have a 2013 r/t and it deserves this. Is there a way to contact you.
How much total did it cost?
If you do the setup. A step by step vid of installation would be awesome. Thats something that no one has and everyone wants. Keep up the great work
Definitely a game changer for any V8 Hemi by forging the pistons and so on... I would defenetly be all in if I can put my hands on a good mechanic.🔥🔥🔥💯
There’s a guy here in Cali that does the conversions on the 5.7 & 6.4 -- You wanna play you gotta pay 💰 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Alan Zolotoff what’s he charging, or does he have insta ?
Yup! Hp costs $$$. Def a solid option though - the gains are impressive
sunny B it’s Sheepey Race in L.A. they do excellent work !
Man I learned my lesson ever since I had to replace my engine in my 6.4. Nodding is so stupid, if its not factory backed, invest the money as a down payment for a better car. TRUST ME.
@@devildogentertainment4904 stupidest comment ever, a lot of these cars loose All warranty soon as you start adding power that goes for the Hellcat as well if your worried about warranty maybe you shouldn’t be building a car. If it breaks just replace it
Back in the day, changing the rear diff made HUGE performance gains.
That's awesome bro! A buddy from a Mopar crew I found down here (finally) posted this on our group chat! I'm so glad you keep popping up more and more amongst the Mopar community! I want to see you do this conversion cuz you'll give all the steps needed to do it, but I also don't want you to detour from your original plan. I gotta play catch up with your videos, I'll get there soon!
Thanks man for helping to grow the channel & spread the word! This would make for a really cool project - not 100% sure though yet what forced air I will try out 1st. This is a strong option, plus it would be pretty fun to document.
Well.. there goes my savings 😂
hahaha
I’ve been following this guys build on a challenger Facebook group. Pretty cool option
Def a really awesome build he has going on - very knowledgeable.
I never gave that a thought. But now I know that it is possible.
Yah this is def a really cool option - esp if you can get parts/labor at a good rate
Same i thought about this like 3 years ago but didn't know if it was possible
I did the first one over a year ago. Released it at spring fest. Never use Mmx either! Sdg Motorsports.
@@RTLife ...hey man, I have a 2004 Hemi Sport Ram w/ the 5.7L Hemi V8... will that Hellcat blower fit on my 2004 5.7??? I've been thinking about modifying my 5.7L Hemi...
Don’t do it
My major worry would be, to find someone that I could trust to that knew what the hell they are doing. Because it's to me that someone could really mess up your car, and it's a good chance it'll NEVER be the same..
I can't tell you how much I love the 5.7 hemi!!! Its so modifiable, and it sounds incredible
it really is an awesome engine - so much damn fun
Been building 60s big block Mopes all my life, but am finally diving into the new engines. One of my boys just dragged home a 5.7 that needs freshening as a future upgrade to his 98 Ram (V6 right now). These new Hemis have so much raw potential...!!! We were figuring on going carbureted/ MSD Hemi6 with it, and now im thinking the upcoming 69 Dart project is going to have to have new Hemi power too!!! Intrigued by the H-Cat blower idea... Nice info to shelf for the future!!!👍🤔
Amazing build up over 500 hp wow
Def solid results
Wow...you learn something new everyday on this channel. 😳
yah def a cool option if you're looking for a forced air option
Definitely something to think about, 4-5k plus labor for 500+ hp might be worth it. One question though. Why do people come here and thumbs down 👎 with no explanation????
yah this seems like a solid option - the results are certainly impressive.
Dude you're channel is growing so fast! Congrats!!!
Thank you, I really appreciate the support.
Ya thanks for that video, I personally think it's a great someone thought out of the box to use the "big brothers" supercharger of the little guys 345, 392!
yah it's a pretty cool option for a little more power! The results are impressive
Thanks for everything you do for the Mopar world. I was thinking of swapping out my 5.7 for a 6.4. This video just changed my mind. Didn't think the hellcat supercharger would work on a 5.7..now I know it can be done. Next project..5.7 Hellcat!!
Nice, glad this was useful/helpful. Thank you for the support, I really appreciate it
Yeah me neither thnks am definitely going for it got s 2012 rt pursuit
Yes its a vary sweet thing to do wanted to see some one do it
Thats a real nice build. We just did it on a Dodge ram Daytona so we know how addicted the sound from the supercharger is
the hellcat supercharger really does sound awesome
Idk how I ended up here but I’m here to stay. I have a 5.7 on my 2019 300S and tbh this is a mod I will definitely be doing. Thanks for the info!
That would be really cool - I would imagine you'll be the 1st 300 with hellcat blower.
@@RTLife I have a 2005 5.7 can I put hell cat blower on it
@@charlesalegria73 no
Hmm that is definitely good to know that you can do that to a 392 stock engine without going forged although I think I would still replace my eternals with forged Pistons valves rods and things of that nature 😉😏😎
Thank you bro! I'm in the process of dumping the 2.7 out of my 08' charger to slap a 5.7 in and I'm not stopping there so I'm gonna seriously consider this!
@R/T Life You are killing the game Bro! You literally are the GEN III Hemi O.G! I called Arrington in 2017 and asked about putting a Hellcat blower on my 6.1 SRT8 Challenger Super Track Pack car and he basically told me it was the wrong course of action. Honestly the Hellcat Blower makes any MOPAR a Hellcat!!! Boring out a 6.4 or 6.1 to 440CI, forging the bottom end would definitely be worth it with a Hellcat blower on top. I'm 100% interested! Thanks for posting!
I think this is amazing! Put a MOPAR blower on a MOPAR motor. Would be even better if MOPAR would design the necessary adapter hardware and sell this as a Hellcat upgrade kit themselves. Just sayin!!
I agree - def a solid option. I like the results, showed some serious HP gains
Mopar doesn't build the adapter because it's not a good idea. You're putting too much power to a weaker block that does not have enough strength. Mopar engineers have already thought about that. And concluded it was a bad idea.
The hellcat blower is IHI which is Japanese so hardly a Mopar part
The 6.4 rods need to be upgraded to handle boost
@@roadsideguy5902 aren't all gen3s the same block? Just different internals?
Oh wow man, I've been thinking about doing this on the 6.1 in my Challenger and spoke with MMX about it before. They had the one available for the 5.7 and 392, but we're working on the jig design for the 6.1 the last time we spoke. They handle boost better than the 392, so it should be interesting to see some numbers and have been waiting for someone to do one
I was looking into the same kit a year and a half ago or so but I finally gave up and shelved the idea. Glad to see I wasn't the only one barking up that tree.
Yeah guys I want this for my 6.1 HEMI 2006 SRT-8 Chrysler 300C as well.
My 09 Spring Special package on my manual 5.7 challenger has a 3.91 in the back. I assumed the chargers would of had a similar option at some point. Good content.
I would definitely Mod your car with the supercharger, you've come this far go ahead and take it to the next level bro. Beats buying a whole new car, and car note, plus insurance.
I agree - this is certainly an option I'm thinking of going down. The gains are impressive
I've researched long and hard on pros/cons of doing this to my '16 Challenger SRT. Conclusion: In stock form, the 6.4 Hemi is a great engine that lasts and serves hundreds of thousand miles. But, the stock 6.4 is by design not built for boost and pushing more power. The stock bottom end is not good for that. The pistons are not forged and there is not enough meat between the ring lands and the top of the piston. Also, the exhaust manifold may twist from overheat and burst the studs of its fastening. So, it's not like GM's LS series that is more forgiving.
It’s safer on a 6.4 than it would be on a 5.7 - all the cooling needed on a smaller engine is paramount. Also why go with a roots blower on top of the manifold when you could go w a procharger Thats separate from it all (as a trade off for the heat soak)...?
6.4 stock at top max juice capacity so the scatpack could hang, 5.7 stock have little loose you can boost
@@ryanc2927 I think it's because the hellcat option is cheaper than a procharger.
@@ryanc2927 you definitely do not know what you’re talking about. The 5.7 will handle boost much better than a 6.4

Let me know what you guys think of this idea. The gains are solid on 8lbs of boost!!! (Early morning recording).
R/T Life I wonder what would happen if somebody did it to the v6
R/T Life bro ts fire I wonder is it better then a 6.4
I thought about this for my 6.4 but when I called them they said I would also need to select the front hellcat front conversion which then the price jumps even more. So decide to just go with whipple when the new ones comes out.
Would stock 5.7L with stand the pressure?
@@iodrivesphrere in my experience. The 345 stock bottom end is only good for around 550whp.
Imagine a forged 6.4 with the hellcat blower...
Obigtruck at that point just throw a pro charger on and have more power potential
6.4 rods are longer than the 6.2 subject to failure at higher rpms 6.2 hellcat 6.2 demon are perfect rod sizes for making controlled horsepower gains...
@@jerryjordan4533 At what RPM and power level does that become a critical issue with a forged rotating assembly? There's plenty of people out there making stupid power (700+ at the tires) out of those 6.4's and not having issues, so while I won't say you're wrong I question whether it's worth spending the 2-3 times as much on a 6.2 unless it's an all-out race car.

Hell yea!! Go for it I’m building a 83 Chevy 4x4 6.0 with a ctsv supercharger getting close to get it going

Falling Angel Is Legendary !!!!!! 🙌🏽🔥🥇
Instead of an adapter plate you can use Hellcat heads which will bolt up to the 5.7 and give you more air flow and power. It’s about the same price if not less than the MMX kit
I would likely opt for hellcat heads as well

My buddy's 2014 Challenger RT got a hellcat blower installed on the stock bottom end using custom adapter plates. We can bolt a hellcat/demon blower on a 5.7, 6.1, and a 6.4 hemi on the stock bottom end. At 8 psi and with pump gas my buddy's RT made 600 horsepower to the tires with a stock hellcat pulley.

yah this is cool option - many are seeing solid results
Def thinking of this for my Daytona
I saw a guy who did this to his charger rt. He said that because it took more turns for the driveshaft to rotate the wheel once, it took less effort for the car to move off the line - thus making the car feel lighter off start and pulling harder (and with what youve done to your charger, you will definitely feel it). And he got better city gas mileage in the city. However he got 2 downsides. He got worse gas mileage on the highway for obvious reasons. And because he didnt tune the computer to accept the 3.09 rear, if he was going 30 mph but compared it to a stock charger with the 2.62 rear going 30 mph, the 2.62 rear equipped charger would outrun him - even tho on both chargers, they both read 30 mph on the screen. They both tested it on cruise control). Solook out for that so the computer can register the 3.09 rear change
Interesting stuff - he should probably retune to make up for the new gearing
I say go for it! I may do the same some day.
Def a cool option - it will likely become more common
Much much appreciated. Always wondered why is the Hellcat supercharger not available on the market. Am now tempted to go the hellcat bloer route.
def a solid option - I'm impressed with the results
Good move on the limited slip. Build is coming along nicely.
I need it - at this power level it's silly trying to launch. Thanks man, I appreciate it
Absolutely, that would be awesome, your engine is perfect for that set up 💯👍, I'm sure your guy who built your engine could do it💯, but, I know it also takes $ to do. But it would be nice to see it on your ride with them gears to, wow that is 🔥💯 🇺🇸🏁 , great video brother 💯😀

Such a cool option for building power
I got a ram 5.7 and I been looking for these types of videos
it's an interesting option
It's a great option and cheaper than going with an aftermarket setup, however, I keep thinking to myself when you factor in costs like upgrading the driveline parts and the transmission to keep up with bigger power numbers and maintain longevity, it makes more financial sense to just eventually upgrade to a Hellcat. The only downside is it takes all the fun out of it, building is cooler than buying.
Yeah I feel like if your knowledgeable enough to build it yourself that’s a good route if not then sheesh it’s gonna get expensive
Not everyone is so concerned with money, though. Some have good jobs .
@@marcuslatrent528 People with good jobs would just buy the Hellcat.
@neoasura I own a 2021 new scat. no manual hellcats in my color, and im the type of man that likes to build my cars up. 850hp 392 is more impressive to me than a stock hellcat. My Scat is a great opportunity to do that... And I don't have a job. I run my own business. I hope I cleared up any confusion. Thanks for taking an interest
Yeah Hellcats are hella expensive though. You'd need a $150k salary to afford a brand new one.
Considering the cost of the used supercharger, conversion kit, customization and tuning, you'd approach the cost of complete kits from Whipple, Edelbrock, Procharger, etc. These complete kits come with a warranty, tuning and customer support. I would support one of these established supercharger vendors.
Yah I was adding it up as well - you would be paying close to those other complete kits. The thing I really like though is the results - those are impressive gains.
That and IMO the Edelbrock is the superior setup, in particular that it's roots instead of twin screw like the Hellcat. If I ever get around to a supercharger, given options available now it'd be the Edelbrock, but I want to build up an engine first so... ehh, figure that out then.
@@RTLife The numbers appear too high for 8 lbs of boost. All others are in the 150-170 range for 8 lbs on a stock 5.7, but this one is 230-240 wheel HP...just not inline with all others. Let's be realistic, IHI is not using some secret tech in their superchargers that provides 70-80 wheel HP more than Whipple, Edelbrock, Procharger, etc. I'd guess the IHI adds about 240 HP to the 6.2 hellcat engine and they run over 11 lbs of boost. I'm all for more HP, but let's be realistic about 8 lbs.
I agree......just go with a Whipple kit. Brand new Whipple over a used Hellcat supercharger just seems like a no brainer to me. 🤷🏽♂️
@@2016RT I'm low key surprised Mopar isn't offering conversion kits lol. Then again, it seems they decided to stop actually properly designing CIAs around the Hellcats/newer renditions so..... busy I guess

Im really glad I found this video because i am looking to put a hellcat blower on my 2019 ram 1500 after i lower it on wheels
Was wondering when sobody was gonna do this already
I think a few people have done this now - if you can get a discount on labor this is a solid option
The super charger whine gets me every time :DDD
it really is so much fun listening to that thing whine while stepping on it
Absolutely put it on, if its possible with your pocket book, an the allowed, while waiting for your completed an successful install.
This would be a nice addition to my RT
That's a beautiful motor.
I like the idea of doing it. If one is going to pay for the installation, it would most likely be cost prohibitive. As mentioned in the video, there is customization involved. The installation for a kit designed for the 5.7 such as the Edelbrock e-force or a centrifugal supercharged would typically cost about $1,500 including tuning. Customization would increase the cost significantly. Injectors aren't included as part of the kit. Better cooling fans might be required. My Procharger kit included upgraded cooling fans. The transmission on the R/T is only rated at about 516 foot pounds of torque. From a practical stand point, one is better off using a kit that was made for the car rather than buying a Hellcat supercharger and adapting it for the 5.7. If I weren't willing to upgrade to a Hellcat transmission, I would probably go with the centrifugal kit for the R/T.
yah the kits designed for the 5.7 or 392 is def easier. If I was more mechanically inclined this would be an option I would prefer. The results are solid & I do like the idea of having a mopar supercharger under the hood.
Have you decided on a supercharger yet?
In your most honest opinion & to the best of your knowledge, please. How much would it take to put a turbo kit or a supercharger on a 2022 5.7L Dodge Challenger R/T ? And not just the kit itself but along with what you should get with? ( Thank you in advance if you do happen to answer) much appreciated!
@@dustinwales3038 - I wouldn't go for a turbo kit on an R/T. Turbos provide peak torque at low RPM which puts more strain on the rest of the drivetrain. However, you give up something with a supercharger because you have parasitic losses. You take power from the engine to drive it as opposed to a turbo when the exhaust is used to drive it. When it comes to superchargers, it depends on how you want to make power. A centrifugal supercharger will make more power at high RPM because it is more efficient. The positive displacement supercharger will build boost more quickly so you will get better initial throttle response and better low end and midrange power. In terms of quarter mile performance both superchargers are about the same. If you like the centrifugal, go with a Procharger. If you like the positive displacement, go with the Edelbrock E-force. The Procharger is a little easier on the drivetrain and the Edelbrock makes the R/T a little more fun to drive. I give a slight edge to the Edelbrock E-Force on a Mopar. On a Mustang GT, I would choose the Procharger.
@@hu3.789 thanks for the info and opinion! Very much appreciated.

Whipple’s designer already confirmed they’re making a supercharger for the 5.7 and the 6.4 just wait for that bro. Check out Demonology’s channel on why he’s getting the whipple they got on a 3 way video call and explained everything
The blower prices are great, but I couldn't make out how much the adapter kits were. It looked like there were 2 kits with each one costing $2300? If so then you are right up there with other boosted options from a hardware cost standpoint, while potentially paying more in labor. The Dyno numbers were amazing though.
The labor is what I would be most concerned about - the whole customizing usually means $$$$
Hell yeah I'm doing this, but not in a car but for my Power Wagon Ram 2500 😊
I would definitely consider that if I were to be a R/T owner. Definitely a cool factor and also they are engineered to last. My main concern with aftermarket systems is what if a model is discontinued which it has happened or if a company were to go out of business which has happened as well. Then your stuck with no support on a system you once paid big money for(NOT COOL AT ALL). I would go with the hellcat blower option. That way I would have the best possible chance of getting replacement parts down the road.
I think you're right. This route is cool & you will be able to have support for a long long time.
@@RTLife yep, as long as chrysler and Dodge are around and also we are still allowed to drive internal combustion engine vehicle's you should be good. Terminator Cobras, Grand Nationals, Cyclone and Typhoon, the GM 3800 supercharged engine that was used in various models. After all these years there is still support. Aftermarket companies can't make that claim.
Would be extremely cool, but I think that I would go procharger route.
Procharger is a much easier installation - less $$$/time spent on labor

Excellent work 👏 I nit running a root blower but procharger and intercooler with a total forged bottom on my 6.4 and many other mods
The 6.4L can make some great power on super low boost. Nice to have that larger displacement & higher compression
I feel it's great but reliability will be my concern long term. Can the stock block even take the Extra power? The Trans? Total cost? I mean there's a lot of questions to be asked here lol
So many factors - I think the largest being the tuner. Need to pick the right tuner to make sure the timing is perfect.
Zay The stock 5.7 block is built on the same line as the 6.2 hellcat engine. The walls are thicker than the 6.4 cause of that reason. That’s why people say if you want to get the most power off boost get the 5.7 over the 6.4 cause it can handle more
I would love to have one on my 2012 ram 1500 4X4. That or just put a Hellcat motor in it. What do you think.
All depends on the price - I've seen used hellcat engines with super low miles for 12k. Hard to beat that
I’d love to do this for my ram as well. Dreams....
If you want more horsepower get it with a warranty.
Great info keep it up brother
That would be a interesting have to go on my 6-4 but I think I would need to First address the transmission situation right now I think having a 8 speed gives such a advantage.
Seems like the labor cost on this makes it prohibitive.
That's what would be holding me back - still the results are impressive for the price tag.
That would be an awesome set up for the car. I noticed on the MMX website they have it listed for the 6.1 Hemi, but I thought it was only designed for the 5.7 or 6.4 Hemis? Do you know if anyone has tried it for a 6.1 Hemi yet? I have an 07 SRT and it would be nice if it could go on there. Awesome channel and thanks for the videos.
I haven't seen this on a 6.1 but based on their website, it can fit. Not many have this done yet - very new.
That is a wonderful sounds awesome
Reminds me of the days we were taking Cobra blowers and putting them on 2v 4.6l GT
it's def a cool option
Would I have to add performance internals like pistons and etc?
You should - he didn't though.
I was thinking about getting the Mopar Scat Pack stages but I’m thinking of just getting aftermarket stuff, I wanna make 500 horse power out of my 5.7, all naturally aspirated, do you know how I can make that possible? Might be an idea for a whole new video 😅
Hemi’s just cost too much to build compared to the LS or mustang platforms..the LS is the best motor period $ for $ ..I’d never chance blowing a stock Hemi..buying a used hellcat 6.2 or e car is just a better investment
This is my dad’s car
Absolutely go for it!!
I have a 2007 Ram 1500 SLT and am thinking about tricking it out with new cam, new ported and polished heads and like the idea of the supercharger. Adding a lift kit, new exhaust system, revamped interior and paint. I know its a little over the top for this vehicle but i love my truck. I am 63 years old and in my youth owned 3 cars I should have never sold, a 69 Hemi Roadrunner i bought from my dad then ran the piss out of it, the second was a 71 Swinger with 340 six pack (had it for 6 months before selling it for twice what i paid for it) and the last was a 71 Charger 500 with a 383. Finally got some time and money and want to be a motor head again. Can only do so much to my Harley!
