- In case you have been hiding under a rock for the best 24 hours, let me be the first to tell you that F1’s star designer and aerodynamic oracle Adrian Newey is on his way out of the Red Bull F1 team. Adrian has spearheaded Red Bull’s technical department since the team's inception and has had more than a hand in the six constructors titles and seven drivers titles. His influence in the design of Red Bull’s ground effect cars has been credited for the team's domination of the sport since 2022. His impending departure is a big deal, but what does it actually mean? Will Red Bull fall apart? Will he head elsewhere or is this the end for F1’s most prolific designer? Today I’m going to dissect it all so don’t go anywhere.

It’s been said that Newey is the only man who “ can see air “. Absolute legend !!!
Was actually said about Clarence Johnson of skunk works...
But can clearly see it applying to Newey as well... takes a special breed for sure
Nope, Dale Earnhardt said he could see the air.
Mercedes domination for 8 years = F1 is best sport ever
Red Bull on top for 3 straight = Something has to change, thank god Newey is leaving. The sport is saved.
The fanbase of this sport sometimes...
well said
Mercedes never dominated like RB has.
As yosser said, mercedes did dominate and obliterated the competition. But they did so while also taking some loss, having some real in-team racing, some competition between there drivers, and so seasons being closer than you’d think (2018)
Shock exit? So it hasn't happened yet.
If Newey truly has the desire to work with Lewis Hamilton he'll move to Ferrari, but I'm also pretty sure he'll make his own stipulations to join them and avoid the political drama at Ferrari, and with that! It'll depend on how bad Ferrari really wants him if they want to start having winning cars again and win championships.
It’s Fernando Alonso who he wants to work with though
You forgot the most likely scenario. Newey announces his departure, Max activates his exit clause. Max and Newey go to Mercedes and Max brings GP and Helmut Marko over from RB
Most likely scenario: Newey is poached by Fred Vasseur to Ferrari.
newey to merc? with stappen+wolff rumor and newey going for zero pod while merc was already zero pod, he can perfect their design. However, papa stroll has the deep pocket for any contractual obligations/breaches to cover and he is hungry for the best. stappen would be wise to follow newey. we have already established that there may be good drivers but if the design is not right, even the best driver just can not beat the better car.
Yeah, but designing new car is always more difficult Tah upgrading current one. So if he'll go to other team he'll design a new car
Maybe he'll take the year off to design tge spec. Indy Car and be Andretti's designer after they either buy a team or finally get approved. Full circle carrer moves. 😊
Oh him going to Andretti would be hilarious! He technically wouldn’t be working for another F1 team, so could get their 2026 car up and running.
Here’s a mad thought, F1 should hire him to design a car that all the teams can run and level the playing field.
Lame. We can watch Indy, NASCAR, F2 etc etc for that.
@@Guspech750 I do and they are all more entertaining to watch than F1.
@@Yosser70I like to watch teams develop the best car possible and see what happens. What ever sport. I enjoy watching a person, team or driver crush the opposition. Even at the expense of who I’m cheering for. Like the Yankees, Patriots, Michael Jordan, Red Bull etc etc. I enjoy the process of a team or individual. It amazes me how much better and further ahead they can be.
@@Guspech750 I get that but F1 isn’t like football or baseball. Even when the Patriots were dominating, there was tension and excitement in the games, there’s very little of that in regard to who’s going to win a F1 race. In football, even when they win, they are still bashing heads and fighting for the win. Look at it this way, if you went fishing and caught a fish every cast, it’d soon loose it’s appeal, it’s the not knowing that makes that take exciting, and right now, RB are getting a fish a cast.
@@Guspech750 Oh and go watch the highlights from todays MotoGP, now that’s racing 👀
He should go to Aston.... followed by Max...
Newey to Haas ❤️
You didn't even mention Audi
There will always be a dominant team and people will always complain that it is boring when one team always wins.
Newey to Ferrari? Hence the reason Hamilton was swayed to move to Ferrari?
Depending on his contract he might not be able to head to Ferrari until 2027, i don't even think Hamilton will be there then.
Personally i feel that with him pushing 70 when he leaves Red Bull and the career hes had he should put his feet up, with his legacy as it is, does he really need to go to Ferrari?
@@davidpevalin6075 The only thing he could do would be a Tom Brady like departure, leave, go somewhere else, win, retire. Just to prove you could do it. But as good as Newey is I don't think you can turn a team around year 1 and make them champion.
Thank God Alison coocked xD
Of course it's not all about Newey at Redbull, but they have to make sure now the 2026 engine with Ford won't be a dissapointment
There are also signs that he could go to Mercedes! The Brackley team is surely interested and Daimler-Benz's pockets are deep enough. And that would also incite Verstappen to consider a move there as well!
Newey will go with Audi when his contract ends at the finish of the 2025 season. He has jumped on board with numerous teams just starting up and it would be similar with him joining Audi in 2026
I’m sure his current contract has early opt outs and no can’t work clauses lol
If he leaves it might be so he can relax and work on his boat designs.
I'd like to see him move to a minor team like Haas, and see how much of a difference he can make there.
If Stroll is smart, he kicks out his talented son and hires Newey, Marco and VER. That would be quite a line-up with ALO ....
He takes the year off to produce a concept design no F1 team fully understands, yet is faster than them all 😂
Newey will certainly get chocked in a Ferrari environment.... 😂😂
Is there any universe where Newey goes to Mercedes? More than any driver, Newey represents Mercedes' best chance of getting back on top in short order.
maybe Newey is going to Audi
The Red Bulls are among the most reliable cars on the grid. It won't have an immediate impact.
Because of the Honda engine. In 2026 they'll have Ford..lol.
@@Rebecca-qx1et No. They will have a Red Bull engine and Ford electricals.
@@PeterKKraus not better. 😆
@@Rebecca-qx1et Their team of car builders and mechanics keep the cars running.
The disrespect Pierre Wache gets from brits like he does nothing for Red Bulls cars is ridiculous...
Mercedes needs to send that guy an offer. I’m not a fan of the silver arrows but they are in trouble. If I were the ceo of Mercedes I would fire my team principal if I had to. If that meant getting this guy on my team
Problem kinda is that Toto has an equal stake to Mercedes and Petronas in the F1 team so Mercedes cant do shit to Toto 😂
@@hellsgunfire then Mercedes needs another solution because they need to fix their car if they have any hopes of getting another championship this decade
The guy looks knackered, time for a rest bud
(reportedly) F1 media is garbage and your channel is a major contribution.
Why of all possible reasons you could speculate about his departure (health, life, money) would you morbidly connect his departure to Horner’s issue? Disappointing garbage
He has a track record of leaving teams when there are political and scandalous things happening internally. Which is why it would take a lot for him to go to Farrari, nothing but politics there. He'll either retire or end up at Aston or Audi.
I say he stays at Red Bull or retires from Red Bull.
All speculation, same guesswork that has been going on for 3 month already. stop making up drama.
Impenetrable team? I sent them emails on how to setup Redbull powertains and the Ford engine deal.
This proves the british bias.... Aldo Costa had a shorter career yet is more decorated in titles that Newey... in the tobacco years of f1 with limitless budgets newey got destroyed by Rory Byrne... Stop overhyping the guy like he cant be beaten... just like in 2009 when Adrian had to copy other designs.. Like Horner said... NO ONE IS BIGGER THAN THE TEAM
tired of your videos rumors and lack of quality reports. This is not a news article this is just another rumor mill story based on unspecified sources (none). When you get some real information THEN you do a story. IM out.
Only way for Red Bull to truly implode is if Newey, Horner, Perez, Lawson, and Verstappen all leave at the same time.
Every missing puzzle spoils the picture 😉
Perez, Lawson, Verstappen and Horner leaving won't make any difference. Now Adrian Newey leaving will have a huge impact on F1.
