I love how dynamically some of these mechs moved, especially the Orion.
I know this is really old, but it's very nice to see Mechs moving and taking damage like the books describe. The games always make them feel a bit too tanky, or a bit too stiff, or both.
they should move like this in games, fluid like titanfall mechs
If this was put onto kickstarter as a potential series I would support it.
People may complain about the graphics, but I have no problem with an animated BattleTech/MechWarrior show looking like this.
I say this because I can still remember the Refusal War, dropping onto Colmar with sib Wolves. If our monitors back then looked half as clear as this animation, the Falcons and ComStar itself would have been *smouldering ruins* under a months' time.
Never forget the 352nd.
was that like a campighn you played or was it like one of those multi-player submit your results type deal. Or just a videogame?
I diuslike how mobile the mechs are depicted, as battletech has NEVER featured "gundamn " level manuverability but other then that..
@@briandavion As someone who's read _Decision at Thunder Rift_ and other relatively early novels, as well as looked at how the 'Mechs are presented in tabletop via the rules, I respectfully disagree. It's always been there. Still there, to some extent or another. Though I wouldn't say this is "gundam" level maneuverability; nimble as they are, they're still a far cry from being flying anime superweapons.
It's the related video games that have never featured this kind of range of motion, and even that's starting to change a little bit. Which I personally like.
This, for me, is approximately where _BattleTech_ should be whenever possible.
Sweet balls of PGI! That was awesome
Ok, that Locust coming around the corner at 01:26 looks effin amazing. Wish this was a whole series.
Damn, that was good. The 'mechs all felt authentic despite being much more graceful than we've ever seen them, and that scene of the Locust skidding sideways was pure, unadulterated fun. Just... bravo.
From what I've read, mechs actually do tend to move more fluidly and human-like than the games show which seems sick
Oh this is wayyy more accurate than the MechWarrior games tend to be. I forget which rulebook it is that explicitly talks about the agility of 'Mechs and how the only real limit is the skill of the pilot, since Neurohelmets can't read minds.
Like, it specifically says that some pilots figured out how to do handstands.
seeing the flags of Rasalhague broke my heart :(
Awesome video, heard it was canceled but i would gladly support a project like this
1:46 See this PGI?
THAT'S HOW A DIRE WOLF SHOULD WALK!
Every so often I come back here.
I get goosebumps every time.
A lot of people are saying they don't quite like the nimbleness of the Battlemechs, and normally I don't like the Eastern style of mecha, but I really enjoyed this. The agile 'mechs looked really good with this kind of art style. I eagerly await more.
That Scout hauling ASS...thats how I always imagined those things moved really.
Battlemechs behave like eastern mecha in lore. This animation is accurate.
@@NorthernNorthdude91749 More or less. The bottleneck is the ability of pilots. Considering a 'Mech's control scheme it seems like rookies drive them more like you'd see in the MechWarrior games (still a little more nimble than that, since Neurohelmets handle balance mostly) while some experienced pilots have figured out how to do handstands.
I think ti would be interesting to see the whole "Blood of Kerensky Trilogy" done where scenes are done in different art forms for different houses depending on the point of view of the story teller; combine and rasalauge=anime, davion steiner and clans=3d render, marik and liao=cell shading. Something like that I think would be really cool. What do you guys think?
approval level critical: shutdown imminent.
*I now realize that my comment may be ambiguous, I really really fucking like this XD
Epic work, gave me a few goosebumps at the end. To all the naysayers, I say look at the thumbs, I see a stark ratio.
Besides, I remember Robotech being an Anime, Mechwarrior isn't too far off the beaten path. Maybe not quite this style, but it's by no means too far from.
Really love what you have done with the perspective.
1:44 While you were busy becoming a Mechwarrior, I was studying the art of the bladeee
Nice job, sir. Loved the music, and the Dakka.
I cried a little bit when I watched this, I cannot wait for you guys to make more!
Fucking great. It was cool and actually kind of eery to see Mechs moving with such speed and ferocity. I hope this was just a sampler for more videos in the future.
Almost shit on my pants when i saw that hunchback did the falcon punch
Did you notice how his arm came off as the mechs tumble off the cliff? Awesome!
I know how much work any animation is. Good work.
THIS IS AMAZING! WHY IS THIS NOT A SERIES!
Amazing work, I really dig the style. I would love to see more if it's ever possible.
Absolutely gorgeous work here guys. Glad to see NGNG's animation team back with a vengeance!
Yeah this is 100% Bruins' work. We're just here as a platform to show off his amazing talent.
***** Hello! I thought the art style seemed a bit too different, but yeah. Great work! Hope to see more stuff from you!
This is awesome. Please do more!
10/10 Would watch, would buy, would love!
Take all my money!
sir dub dub has always been good at making great art. glad to see it animated; especially his 4h :P
Every time I see that scene with the Hunchback punching out the Madcat, OOF. I love it.
I would VERY much like to see more of this! Very kool!
This was really well done. It isn't about how technically accurate it is really. Just watching it has made me want to go read the books so for that reason alone I say well done!
The Mechs are all clearly recognizable. Great shot of the TimberWolf with Elemental army in front. This was very interesting and cool video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep up the good work.
cant get over how awesome this is, maybe make it into a series :O I'd lay to see it
Awesome stuff keep up the great work , more stories plzs
Excellent! I really enjoyed watching it.
Really really nice. I would watch this.
I lost track of how many times I've viewed this. I want more.
Awesome video! Hope to see more!
Amazing work, Mr Bruins. Very well done.
This is amazing! Thank you NGNG, you have made my weekend. Drive the invaders from the Sphere!
I love how he made those sick animations and how well they fit with windows movie maker effects (sarcasm, but the animation is superb)
Looks sweet! Nice work :)
We have been needing more animations :)
I would pay to see a whole series of this stuff.10/10 Pretty damn awesome and the art style is very appealing.
This was awsome and I have but one thing to say; MOAR!
All "Realistic" points aside, this looks awesome. The animation looks like the guy from Samurai Jack / Clone Wars, but with its own feel and flavor. I like the kind of stretched out look it has. Very Code Geass. Colors are great and it flows very well. Just WOW!
Shout out to the homie with a katana going against the Direwolf. He is a real G
Right?
WOW. This looks amazing!
Did... did I get chills?
man when i first saw that last part, i got chills.
lol that Hunchback clocking the Timberwolf was amazing.
Great video! Thank you!
That Atlas vs Daishi at the end gave me chills. I'm getting flashbacks to MW4.
Oh hell yeah I'd watch this!
WOW! That's is pretty epic! :) As an anime fan I love dark or even black and white with a few choice colours picked out like flames and red blood. Really looking forward to seeing more action and see the story :)
Oh my gosh, this is so cool! ^^
Welp, that's 2 seperate animated series I'm looking forward to this summer.
Kudos to the artist for making me think of booting up MWO for the first time in fuckages.
Awesome. Bravo, Daniel - You do good work.
Omg, I want the bluish Atlas eyes at the end!
How have I only now found this?!?
Same here, friend. This should be funded by now!
simply amazing....
The part when te Jagger pops out...Never knew a Jagger could look so badass till now.
D.C. Bruins
You work is absolutly wonderful! :D
It’s a damn shame nothing came of this. I would kill for this to be finished.
That Kiritan probably looked like biggest badass for 20 sec before getting stomped because he brought a katana to fight a mech.
The Clan invasion from the perspective of FRR would be an interesting story line as a reboot and series kick-started or otherwise
Wow ... just epic.... *want more*
This. Is. Awesome.
Holy sweet mother of mech gods this is amazing :O
Holy crap what is this? I need more! MORE!
TOTALLY WICKED! This should be on Disney's XD or Cartoon Network. Good job, Mate.
Bro I'm so sad there's not more of this
Jesus Christ that was brilliant
before i knew that he clan invasion was called Operation Revival i thought this was a trailer for a mechwarrior cartoon series
Very AWESOME!!
So sick!
For all those who think mechs can't move like this video. Did you ever read any of the books from BT? All of the MW games show a far more static Mech than those of the books. Being one example: If you change the Hunchback of the video when he punches the Mad Cat with a Yen-lo-Wang (Kai Allard) you easily match a scene from the book.
This was beautiful.
Ok that looks pretty damn cool.
Great. And even more sad that MWO has NOTHING of this. Not a trace left. :(
Am happy that mech dont move like this the dashi and atlas are oke but rest move to fast
dude that is off the chain!
Goddamn. I don't care if people think it's 'too anime'. You read the books, and you can sense them doing stuff like this. This is precisely what I think of when I think Mech Combat.
I remember a story where a Goshawk assumed a scorpion-style pose after disabling a light mech, because the Clantech permitted it to do so.
Please tell me this will be some kind of web show like Broken Saints... I would subscribe SO fast. The movements are beautiful and perfect.
I really liked the emotion/anger/frustration of the FRR mechwarrior, nice when the hunchy smacked that timberwolf. Needs more vikings and mead though...
You had me at Locust.
YES! THAT IS HOW YOU BRAWL IN A HUNCHBACK! - Trenton "Blackfire1" Kaine - Skjaldbord - Drakjagare company
I'm tempted to take some of the MWO models and animate some of these scenes in CG just for kicks :)
Damn this looks amazing, the frames are all so crisp and the use of color is awesome!
Don't listen to the haters, Battletech can be done anime, western cartoon or Disney animation style for all I care as long as the storyboard and animation are good.
I can't get enough of those last couple scenes. I'd pay for a battletech movie.....
Wow. People would smash this for looking a little like an anime?! Morons!
This was beautiful. I've always loved NGNG's sketchy animation style! The problem with MW is that it always depicted Mechs acting like tanks, and while yes, the heavier ones do, I think the original vision was probably more like this. This was exaggerated, but damn awesome.
Kudos for making this! Some of you commenters need to brush up on your BT.
Battletech would never have existed if not for anime lol!
All of those old Macross designs were basically the first mechs.
Impressive
AWESOME
Awesome!
I would watch the shit out a series like this
SERIES NOW! TAKE MY MONEY!!!
This was 7 years ago.
The "war" to get the IP rights to make this was lost long ago.
Pure awesome.
This is pretty much what would happen if a Japanese company made Mechwarrior. More anime like movements instead of realism :3
As an anime fan, I think you can have both realism and an "anime-feel". Imagine a Battletech story, such as the battle of Tukayyid, done in the same vein as the recent Battleship Yamato remake series.
...that actually gives me shivers.
Matthew Davis That and the current Mechwarrior rendition has made the machines even more static. In the cannon, they were very lively, and could do much more animated movements. Also, it was all based off Robotech at one time right? Which just happens to be an anime-style.
Philip Dudley I definitely think there's room for both approaches; a more "realistic" take on Battletech, and a more artistically-driven take. Honestly, I'm happy with more Battletech period, whichever side it takes. It's one of the most interesting sci-fi universes there is, in my opinion.
I really think the franchise is ripe for more adaptation; we're just not getting it, for (sadly) legal reasons. I'd love to see an anime adaptation, more video game adaptations (a new single player game, please!), and perhaps a western film, if they didn't f*ck it up (which they probably would).
I fucking hate the anime style, its disgusting. I like the slow tanky feeling like the MechWarrior 2 and 3 cinematic.
I can't stand Japanese mecha bullshit.
DSRT888
Except for the part where Mechs in Battletech/Mechwarrior are canonically able to do ALL THOSE THINGS they're doing.
I think this cool as hell. I have played the RPG, the board game the mech warrior Video games and read the novels,. I loved it Need more!
This needs to become a real thing, like an anime series
Так необычно. Была предпринята попытка продвинуть канал.
Ave Kerensky!
I really like this animation, if only we could get a goddamn battletech movie. Imagine watching an atlas punch a masakari in the face in HD. Also, I can totally see draconis combine infantry fighting mechs with HF katanas, that would be badass.
Had that Samurai Jack kind of feel to the animation.
