The Boks beating the All Blacks isn't an upset. South Africa is a world class rugby team and should be considered as such
The Boks have beat the ABs many times the reason it was said was this was the ABs biggest loss.
It's not hard to understand. The reason it's an upset is because of the manor of defeat for the All Blacks, considering their last match, they had a dominant and solid win against the boks, then to suddenly have their biggest lost ever? No one expected it, hence the upset.

MM role was to defend the line. The game plan change with every game. He was rock solid in defense. The plan was always that he would be replaced and Cobus to come in with the 7-1 split. Cobus did the same thing although not so solid as MM, but will grow into that role as displayed in his backtracking of NZL only try of the match, and him finding his feet in his newly role of the 7-1 game plan. MM knows that it's his last World cup, he will for sure get lucrative contracts after this World cup from around the world, as it will prolong his career on franchise level. Viva Mampimpi.

I was very pleased with Manie Libbok this game, as a stormers supporter I really loved seeing him coming into his own. Was a bit worried about his kicking myself.

Cheslin and Kurt Lee will not play together on both wings. They aren’t physical enough and good enough under the high ball. You have to play one tall and one short, the coaches have done this every game since the flogging by the all blacks where they both got hammered and lost almost every ball.
Put another way, one Kolbe-style wing, one not Kolbe-style wing.

South Africa have shown the world how to beat the All Blacks...they've literally choked under pressure...
With Manie, no one has noticed he changed his set-up routine (with the Argie game) because he took too long and would have been penalised at the WC for not slotting the ball on time.
He removed the swinging arm action to ensure he could slot it faster. I think he is now over that, as we saw on Sat and hopefully back to the form we have seen for the last 2 years at the URC (he was by far the best kicker).
He's going to be instrumental for the Boks this World Cup

@wot4922 honestly I'd have loved to see him there with ireland but I think since he hasn't been in the ireland camp since the last world cup it would be very hard to pick him. I think ireland made a big mistake not taking Mike Haley as cover for Keenan whose our only out and out full back.
I predict that the Bok's will win the cup or make a shock exit.

Other teams will take note, if you want to beat the All blacks... You don't give them any time on the ball... With a good rush defense they start to crumble slowly and make silly mistakes... So main point don't give them time to decide what to do with the ball
Thank god for shows like this, no excuses and giving credit where credit is due.Just watched another NZ rugby channel with Jeff Wilson and the list of excuses that were made for the AB loss was laughable. Even going as far as saying Marx milked the Barret penalty like a football player to get him sent off. Thank you for being unbiased and putting rugby first.

4 tries to 3 to france.
poor kicking from australia.
resulted in NO score board pressure being exerted on france.
kiwis vs new zealand.
14 nil at half time. one bok try was opportunist. the kiwis pkaying with man down for more than half the game.......
new zealand will definitely clean things up.....
and australia..... eddie jones if he uses his brain will bring back a few experienced players into the aussie side....
goal kicking wise: bernard foley and quade cooper.... and of course michael hooper (the dude is in australias top 1-5 players).
I'm not trying to argue but I beg to differ. After watching Friday's game I think there was a massive gulf between the teams. Boks absolutely dominated the game from minute 1 to minute 80. The only reason it can't be fact is because of the cards obviously helping to increase the pressure. I agree if we played them again next week it would be as vast as they will learn from this defeat and not likely to have the same amount of cards and it is NZ.
The truth is 20 minutes of mount smart physicality does mean you're up for it. The last 60 they lost against the boks as they lost the last 20 against Argentina in the championship. In truth the lack of physicality has been an issue since 2019 semi against England.
So how did they smash you at Mt Smart?

Don't worry I get asked this a lot, I was born and raised in Hong Kong, Parents from America and Zimbabwe and have a American and Irish passport. So really from a lot of places but yeah the Boks have always been my team.

Respect for your view of Libbok . I agree his style is ideal for the amount of game breakers around him .....have been rooting for him for years. I also think the Bok coaches is going very unconvensional this worldcup . The backline is going to change from game to game --- I dont think Rassi3 and Jaque is even really thinking who is better . I think they have the comfort to choose the players who are going to unlock the opposition , horses for courses . So I expect different backlines even for high risk games ...they can even do a 5 to 3 bench with backs ! Common what luxury and riches .... and they all jelling ....The Coaches are smilling and I get the feeling the players as well are involved with making plans , tactics .....its scary their amount of committment.
We aren't even in the conversation with Ireland, South Africa and France being the front runners. The AB's are where their efforts and talent have put them and that includes management.

Our game is turning into soccer, people seem to agree with 30min of rugby and the rest is referees talking and SA getting drink breaks at the weekend. Took away the all blacks ability to tire these teams out with our fitness and talent… I see where rugby is going 😩

Unfortunately, with the SA rugby landscape, the coaches are well aware that politics always prevail. Irrespective of form, Mapimpi will be selected especially now that Am is not part of the squad due to injury. These are the hurdles and challenges our coaches were obliged to deal with at the last world cup; nothing different this time around. Our coaches does not have the luxury to pick and choose purely based on merit; certain quotas have to be met (officially, the general public is kept in the dark).

Mapimpi is a good player bro. They can’t only play 2 short players so either Canan or Mapimpi will always get picked. No doubt there is a quota, but they said the same thing was the reason we used to be so bad in 2017. Now all those black front rowers are part of the worlds best pack. And the non white back line players have become some on the best in the world. (Am, Mapimpi in his prime, KLA, Moodie, Damian Willemse, and recently, Mannie Libbok.) there’s also huge emerging players coming through like Grant Williams and Jaden Hendrikse. Again, not disagreeing with the point but its much more positive to view it as a strength. The reality also is that without said quotas, there would be hundreds of thousands less kids and players in the player pool. Let’s say it stayed all white after Apartheid and said rules weren’t put in place, the boks would still be seen as a sign of oppression and there would be very few non white players which creates a self deprecating cycle. Sorry if this was useless information, I just don’t like when people bring this stuff up as if it’s a bad thing.
