I've seen this video enough times to not cry, but your outro did bring tears. Such a beautiful wrap up. New sub here and looking forward to more of your insight. The beautiful voice over the credits is Floor Jansen, married to Hannes the Sabaton drummer and lead singer for Nightwish. You may want to check them out too.

Great and emotional reaction! !!! Thank you so much for reacting to our heroes....AND Welcome to the Sabaton army! Once you are in....you just cant stop! :-) Sabaton are a Swedish band with the roots in the city of Falun,Sweden and they are just Fantastic!!!! They always sings about true events in history, they dont take sides..just telling the stories in different ways. Sometimes its about heroes , sometimes its about sacrifices in war , telling it from a soldiers perspective.. They have the most amazing music videos! And their concerts are always sold out because they are also very energetic and powerful live!.....One thing that can be good to know ....is that Sabaton very often has a gem in the end of most of their videos....
In this particular one (as I am sure many, many will tell you) the mighty Super Star Floor Jansen doing that wonderful end solo as a guest Star!!!!
Sabaton has songs about armies and wars in most parts of the world. If you want google Sabaton ....and then your own country and she if there is something there from your country?
They also have their own history channel = "Sabaton History Channel" - Where they tell us about the story of the song.
WE hope for more reactions from you!
Thanks again for reacting to Sabaton

You want to learn about war history, listen to EVERYTHING Sabaton has done...........you will go on a journey and learn about the horrors and the heroes of war, and not just in the past century, goes back a long way. These guys are amazingly talented and brilliant and best of all - very down to earth and not strung out on fame. PS The candles did not go silent, the cannons did! LOL Your reaction is real, its honest and its true, I LOVED IT, you are human and you showed us real men do cry! Watch Bismark, another true story.

The band don't take sides, but tell the story without glorify anything. I hope you continue reacting to Sabaton. They have awsome videos. lyrics that mean something. Sabaton like reactors, so except videos from Wacken, they don't get blocked.

My brother in law served about 20 years in the Brazilian Army, and while he may not understand the words well, their songs are powerful. I would suggest you watch Smoking Snakes, the song they wrote talking about the Brazilian Expeditionary Force in 1944. But remember to keep tissues, because you will cry more.

That's the thing with Sabaton... Every song they make is about Real historical events. If you want other Sabaton songs to react to, I'd suggest you do "The Royal Guard", "No Bullets Fly", the Swedish version (with English subtitles) of "En Livstid i krig" (A Lifetime of war), "Carolus Rex" or "Bismark" just to name a few.

Sabaton is a Swedish band that writes and sings about Actual historic events, battles, moments of heroism and wars.
They will be releasing their 10th studio album on March 4th 2022.
Nice thing about them is that their video's never blocked so it's CZcams safe. (except for some Wacken video's that gets blocked by Wacken)
If you really want to go down the Sabaton rabbit-hole, I would recommend these:
(These are all from the Sabaton Channel, and they never block videos so it's safe to use)
[live at Woodstock 2012]: Ghost Division, 40:1 and Uprising
[Great Tour Live Videos]: En Livstied I Krig (make sure to turn subtitles on), Red Baron, Swedish Pagans, Primo Victoria, Fields of Verdun, Devil Dogs & Angels Calling
[Lyric videos]: Attack of the dead men, In Flanders Fields, 82nd All the way, Sparta, Shiroyama and The lost betallion
[Music Video's]: Bismarck, Steel Commanders, Defence of Moscow, Livgardet (make sure to turn subtitles on), Fields of Verdun, Rourke's Drift, Screaming Eagles, Uprising & Seven Pillars of wisdom
[Animated History Video's]: Night Witches and No Bullets Fly (not animated music video's, the animated history/story video's)
    [Covers]: Kingdom Come [Offical video]
and I'm sure people told you but in case, Sabaton have another channel (Sabaton History Channel) where they do a deep dive into the history behind the songs with Indy Nidell.

I like this video ... because i could almost see those tears in your eyes .. the same tears i always shed when i'm watching this music video. The moment, when you see Sabaton's bass player 'Pär Sundström' kneeling down in front of the memorial cross and carving "2021" into it ...
Well, i think with everything going on, we could use some of that "truce magic" right about now .... 107 years later ... 😔

    @zsadist8111 Před 2 lety +6

Great reaction! Many has already written what was about to write, so we can skip that part. But, I highly recommend you to watch all their videos to the very end. They many times have something more at the end. I've seen others make this mistake, and it would be a shame if you were to miss something. I can give you a few recommendations to continue with (and I'm sure many others also have recommendations to add that I miss to write down): No bullets fly (animated story video), Night witches (animated story video), Bismarck, Steel commanders, Swedish pagans, yeah the list is long.... Welcome to the Sabaton family and down the rabbit hole (and someone else so elegantly and correct put it)! Looking forward to seeing more reactions!

When you think about the circumstances... These were primarily young men (17-23) conscripted into the Armed Forces and sent to fight for some nebulous reason to them. They watched their friends get maimed and die around them every day for months or years. Suddenly the battlefield is quiet and someone is singing Christmas hymns in the other trenches. Your comrades start singing as well, joining them. One brave man decides to step out of the trench in peace, not knowing if he will be shot. Then another and another. You all come out and meet the people who were trying to kill you 12 hours before, and they are just like you. It is truly heart-wrenching.
One suggestion... always let Sabaton songs play to the end. There are often additional things in the video. In this case, the beautiful voice of Floor Jansen, the drummer's wife (and singer for Nightwish). In other videos, there are often additional insights into the events of the song.
    Merry Christmas to All.

  • @stuartpentney2776
    @stuartpentney2776 Před 2 lety +9

The sad thing is about Christmas Day 1914, not every section of the western front had a truce. Some sections continued fighting, others used the day to bury the dead that was left in no mans land from the fighting.
The leaders of the units that had the truce moved the men around so that the following year this would never happen, they even went as far as issue a standing order that anyone attempting such an act of "treason" would be shot in front of a firing squad.
Though I would highly recommend the Sabaton History Channel if you want to know the stories behind any of the Sabaton songs including the full story of the Christmas Truce 1914.

They write and sing songs about war. The good and the bad of it. Where are you from? They probably wrote a song about a battle there. I love the fact they do not takes sides. The Christmas Truce happened between English and German first but sptrad to many other places. 1914 first Christmas in the Trenches but never happened again after the first year.

Amazing song amazing video. My German grandfather fought in world war I. He fought in Belgium and he fought in Russia. The truce started when they were singing Christmas carols back and forth. Also in 1914 was one of the coldest winters in over 5 decades. In some areas the truce lasted for almost over 40 hours. During that time they helped bury each other's dead and health services together and also shared tobacco and drink and yes played soccer. There was the English the Scots and the French and the Germans. One year when we went to visit my German grandfather who spoke about it one time. It was man's inhumanity to man and for one moment, men were men it didn't matter on what side you were on. And in 1915 when Christmas came back around it was very discouraged to do it again and the penalty if you were to do it and sing Christmas songs was to be shot. And the madness continued. The song is beautiful and it is one of the best Christmas songs ever. The guitar that you see being played is actually a 1914. Being a veteran myself I am honored by the song.

@@GioZilke The whole song is a masterpiece and the video worthy of the best that any studio in the world can produce.
Floor's closing vocals get to me every time - even without words, they manage to sing of the sorrow of all the wives, girlfriends, sisters. mothers and daughters left behind.
That she is married to the Drummer of Sabaton - playing the soldier blown up by the grenade and then being the first to venture out over the top into no-man's-land is particularly moving. You should hear more of her work as the lead singer and frontwoman of Nightwish, as well as (of course) more Sabaton.
Can you imagine what it will be like to have a whole stadium singing that chorus when they perform it live? It gives me goosebumps, and I can easily believe a whole stadium full of metalheads in tears singing along to that.
