My aunt had something put in place for her gastroparesis vomiting called a empiric pyloric balloon dilation. It's NOT the nuero stimulator that's usually mentioned when it comes to this. Mention it to your doctor or do your own research. She has been able to stabilize her weight with only 1 or 2 bad days a MONTH. Be your own advocate.

I say aluminum foil but I read this artical and it seems as of 1990 it is scientifically officially aluminium, even in America, although the typical American says aluminum. www.worldwidewords.org/articles/aluminium.htm
However, when I wrote aluminium here, my spellcheck changed it to aluminum. Lol.

Here is a funny example of regional english differences. 15:30-19:30 (The thongs part is at 19:10) Stephan is from Canada visiting Bondi Beach in Australia. He dislocated his shoulder. He is very funny in many ways but the part about the the thongs was the main part about English.)

    • @kirstencourtney8792
      @kirstencourtney8792 Před 6 lety +1

I've never heard of Fawl. I looked it up and all I could find was acronyms for: From Amsterdam With Love, From Above With Love (band), Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Farm Assured Welsh Livestock, Family Adult and Workplace Literacy, and Fine Antiques William Limited. The Urban Dictionary did not list anything. If someone just said it and wasn't typing it as an acronym for something, my guess would be slang for "for real" but that's probably not it as it would probably be in the Urban Dictionary or something. So, basically I have no idea. Anyone? (Hopefully all this funny talk about language will help Jaquie take her mind off of medical stuff for a few. I hope she watches that video, I could't stop cracking up at Stephan. Maybe she (and anyone here) may like the show Bondi Rescue as well, I seem to be addicted now.)

I literally think about your MJ voyage everyday! I’m praying you have a wonderful experience and it helps your symptoms profoundly! I hope it helps improve your standard of life the way that you need. And honestly, you’re further along in your MJ journey than I am and I’m watching with bated breath and crossing my fingers that it’s successful for you! (And I’m sure I’m not the only one following along closely to this process bc we’re walking the path too!)
Also, that chicken recipe looks genius! I’d love to try that. Also, have you guys ever tried a steamer? It’s been a really easy addition to our kitchen, thank heavens! We can throw our veggies in there to steam and it’s relatively quick and easy...and tasty! Man, I am not the cook that you are so I take all the help I can get!! Lol...I admire all in this community that love to cook and are so freaking good at it! I married into a family of good cooks, so I’m learning lol. Anyway, I digress. I’m so glad you had a good doctor visit. I’m even more grateful you successfully escaped the bee!! There’s moments things happen to me and then I look around and hope the neighbors didn’t see what just happened. More than I’d like to admit lol.
Thank you for sharing this blog today. Blessings to all here! 💕🌸💜

I'm sure not a single one of your doctors have told you this but if you find the right Dr to do it you can have your stomach completely removed. They then connect your intestine to your esophageal tube. Bypassing stomach all together. Removing all pain and nausea . I had it done and I'm now leading a completely normal life. I eat all pureed food of course and can't lay down for four hours after I eat. Look into it. Its invasive but it's so worth it.

At least you didn't leave the house with no pants on! I've forgotten to put a top on before and only realized it when it was cold outside.
I don't have nausea, I use MJ for severe pain. I don't feel safe transferring to/from my wheelchair when I'm "high" so I take an edible (the chocolates are delicious) when I'm in bed. I eat a square and drift off to sleep. I noticed within a couple of days that my pain was much better. It also helps me sleep much better. I rarely wake up several times during the night. Good luck with trying it. I hope you get some relief.

I believe in you Jacquie! I'm sending you lots of love.
Thank you for the dental advice. I've had severe gastroesophaegal reflux and regurgitation since I was five years old. I'm seventeen now and my teeth are starting to crumble away now. I'm on the waitlist for dental surgery to salvage as many teeth as possible.
I'm always nauseous as well. Oddly I haven't vomited in years. I only get dry heaving and reflux. I absolutely agree that dry heaving hurts way more.
I have been having a big problems with dental care lately. My mouth is constantly dry and tastes horrible. My tongue is cracking and discoloured. I totally get what you're saying about not living in a big city. My family dentist always tells my mom that I'm being lazy and that's why my mouth is so bad.
I rarely encounter a medical professional that is willing to look at the whole picture and attempt to treat my complex health issues.
My mouth isn't bad because I'm lazy. It's because the majority of my medications cause dry mouth, my teeth are exposed to large amounts of stomach acid, my arthritic hands fact grip a tooth brush, my sensory issues exacerbate my dry heaving, and I have a condition that causes thin tissue like mucus membranes to ulcerate and rupture.
As always you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm praying that the medical marijuana gives you some relief. My mom is completely against marijuana use; whenever someone suggests MMJ as a treatment for me she refuses. I understand though because who wants their child to use illicit mind altering drugs.
    Lots of love,
    Max 😊

For people suffering from gastroparesis, marijuana can be very helpful if consumed in a balanced proportion. Marijuana promotes the digestion of food and helps repair the vagus nerve. Not only does marijuana promote the digestion of food, it also helps removing the signs of gastroparesis including nausea, pain in stomach, abdominal swelling etc. Marijuana promotes hibernation and relaxes the stomach and its muscles. As a result of which gastroparesis is eased in a very small period of time as compared to other ways of treatment.but Excess of everything is bad. Marijuana has immense benefits for human health but all the benefits are dependent on the fact that marijuana is consumed in a balanced proportion.

***hi jackie! i have an idea. take what you like and leave the rest! fingers crossed though that this works: my best friend has a form of dysautonomia that is a bit different than yours, a very rare form: FD (familial dysautonomia). although a bit different, many of the sxs are the same. she (and all FD patients) have what's called CYCLIC VOMITING SYNDROME when the autonomic nervous system gets overloaded. these sxs can get confused with gastroparesis sxs, but the two are treated VERY differently. cyclic vomiting syndrome does NOT typically respond to zofran. ATIVAN or VALIUM (benzodiazepines) is used routinely for FD patients when they are **"in crisis" (what physicians call this horrible form of cyclic vomiting syndrome.
***some of the most cutting edge FD research and treatment is done at NYU. Dr. Felicia Axlerod is the lead research physician and clinician in the field. She recently retired and I cannot offhand remember the name of the doctor who took over. I can go ahead and give you the website that might be an excellent resource for you. as you know, one problem with having dysautonomia, is that most doctors don't know a lot about it, and one ends up having to go to a thousand different specialists, and not actually treating the root of the problem. i wonder if going to a dysautonomia specialist will help you better get control of the terrible symptoms you are experiencing. i'm no doctor, but your nausea and vomiting sounds more like a dysautonomic cyclic vomiting situation than just gastroparesis.
i sure hope some of this helps!
    warmly,
    jessica

Hopefully your medical mar will be ready soon! Dry heaves are very painful if you've ever had abdominal surgery in the past. Please don't push for putting a ng tube in and remove it when your done or having a medical professional do it without flouroscopy. With your ehlers danlos syndrome and your anatomy, you are at very high risk for perforating your esophagus and stomach! That is a major life threatening problem. It doesn't matter how careful people are when your skin stretches and tears easily. Once my G-tube my gtube was gone, the doctors at the transplant clinic would have me vent my J-tube just like we used to do with the gtube. If the episode was particularlybad, they would hook a urinary catheter to my jtube and left it that way when I was no longer running My jtube feed. Sometimes it helped and sometimes it didn't but it might be worth trying to see if you can get a little relief from it. Take it easy! I'm sending healing thoughts your way!

    @MsCanadianLeaf Před 6 lety

So I’ve had nausea and vomiting for the past 18 years with no definitive cause (but lots of “maybe it’s this, or this, or a combination of these things” - I’m sure you know the fun of multiple chronic illnesses and how they can interact and sometimes it’s hard to tell what’s causing which symptom). It’s generally an all day event (though worst in the early morning through to about noon-ish), and while Zofran helped for awhile, it doesn’t always work anymore, and none of the other meds did or I had serious side effects that took them off the table.
I used to live in Canada and when I was 17, I was given Nabilone to see if that would help with the nausea and vomiting (henceforth known as n/v). It worked amazingly. Took away all the n/v, but unfortunately the cognitive and mental side effects - the high, essentially - were too much for me to function with even at the lowest possible dose so that option was off the table pretty quickly.
I ended up moving to the US in 2008 and about 1 1/2 years ago, I tried medicinal marijuana, specifically through capsules first, and then when that wasn’t working and I was finding it difficult to even keep it down long enough for it to do its job, I switched to vaporising it instead. I ended up on a dose that was 50/50 THC/CBD, and I was taking it for n/v and also really intense, medication resistant muscle spasms.
This helped with both symptoms more than anything else I’ve ever tried. I could be super nauseous and on the verge of vomiting, and just inhaling a little bit from the vaporiser, not even a full “dose”, would knock it off in seconds. It did the same for my muscle spasms.
So keep hope up that it will be helpful! I truly hope it’s an answer for you. I know what it’s like dealing with relentless n/v and other chronic issues and being able to manage some of my symptoms was something that boosted me up out of a deep depressive episode enough that I could gain some perspective and do what I had to to care for my physical and mental health.
There is a downside for me, but I’ve been told by my doctor and the pharmacist at the dispensary that my experience is atypical so definitely don’t stress or worry about it at the moment, but I personally just don’t like how the THC makes me feel - I don’t like the “high”, and just straight CBD didn’t give me any symptoms relief. It could be that it’s interacting with the other medications I’m on in such a way that it’s unpleasant, or I might just be one of those people who just isn’t a fan. Either way, I still keep it available and on hand for times when my Zofran has failed and I need a break and to be able to eat. I take in as little as possible to alleviate my symptoms and I stay home while I’m under the influence of it.
I’m not saying my experience will be your experience - though I do truly hope it helps you feel better and manage your symptoms better. It’s definitely a better alternative to more surgery and tube placements (and I say this having had a open surgical J-tube placement in early December of last year that unfortunately led to an infection and displaced tube due to issues unrelated to the n/v. And now I’m heading back, this time to my GI instead of a general surgeon, to have a PEG with a J extension placed under sedation next week. I’m hoping this one works and holds up better than the last one because having it was incredibly helpful in keeping me hydrated and well nourished as needed.
Anyway I’m sorry this was long and rambly, but I wanted to give you some extra hope that the medicinal marijuana could be exactly the breakthrough you’ve been needing to help manage your symptoms. Here’s hoping they get you in their database ASAP 🤞.

About 6 months ago my gastroparesis was out of control and I was vomiting at least 50+ times a day and nothing was working. So finally I had had enough and decided it was time to go to the ER. They gave me IV Haloperidol and it really helped. I told my GI doctor how much it helped and he gave me a liquid version to put down my jtube. For me it’s been a huge help. I know you get lots of recommendations but I though this was worth sharing as many doctors I’ve talked to about it say they have never heard about it. Almost like a rash? Do you scratch or something?

Milk is really good to "wash" your mouth after vomiting (not swallowing it)
Unless.... even the smell of milk can make you vomit 🤦 (like me) also the chewable tums are also helpful. I can only use the pink/cherry/whatnot flavor after throwing up tho. For some reason the others [especially mint] make it worse. And sometimes the flavor 'helps' in not tasting vomit, but sometimes even that can get me started up again.

Have you ever tried taking ginger tablets or capsules for the nausea? Or eating a small piece of candied ginger? Works great for nausea....and the candied works fast but ginger is a "hot" spice so many don't like to eat it. The tablets work great for my RA nausea after taking my meds which always make me nauseated....just a thought and it's natural...

I turned around and saw this WASP like 6 inches away from me at eye level, you can imagine my reaction to that. I started running and the wasp was flying close behind me, I still don't know what it was after other than wanting to see me scream and run around the yard to escape haha!

do you pop blood vessels around your eyes and such when you vomit? i do that a lot when i vomit. they are really fine so you can’t really tell unless you are close-ish (it doesn’t look like a black eye, the veins are just way more prominent and look like spider webs across my eye lids and under my eyes until they heal and then you can’t see the blood vessels anymore).
