Hi
took me a little…
Omg I was so confused why you were saying the game was good
Kirby good
Kirby good
Kirby good
Says who?
Kirby good
Kirby good
one thing I love about this game is that not all the enemies are aggressive. Some are just chillin, having a meal, or a nap. You know, completely passive. But you cant help but just murder them anyway.
Kirby, our wholesome boi.
Then they have a party with their own murderer. Talk about being cucked. 🤣
Human beings love the illusion of choice
*you* can’t help to murder them, I just lest those guys enjoy their cake
That's literally in all the kirby games lol
GAME RIGGED 😭😭😭😭 czcams.com/video/3Z9As3e584I/video.html
Definitely one of the best Kirby games. Don't know if it's my absolute favorite since I do REALLY enjoy Return To Dreamland and 64, but Forgotten Land is still damn good
Kirby 64 is really underrated. I’m so glad people might actually enjoy it now that there’s an actual 3D Kirby game. I know a fair amount of people never gave it the time of day for “wasting the opportunity.”
czcams.com/video/2WWRHxgGsjc/video.html
@@jerryborjon Kirby 64 was my favorite Kirby game until I played Return To Dreamland about a year or 2 ago. Anytime a new Kirby game is announced, I always hope they bring back power combos to the same capacity as they had in 64. Also the OST in Kirby 64 is god tier

I really fell for it. I thought you were going to say this was a terrible game 😂
SAME! I was ready to bring the heat. I've played it and love it sofar!
Nah, man, ALL Kirby games suck. Kirby sucks. King Dedede also sucks.
But not Meta Knight. He doesn’t suck.
@@cameronspencer9619 don’t think the Kirby character sucks but I played Kirby forgotten land and finished it today and tbh it was meh. Idk why ppl are saying it’s rly good tbh I was kinda bored and only playing it just so I could say I could finish it
@@EwokXD So you only beat the main story?
@@KogaHarine the replay ability is also meh. I understand how they were trying to make it like super Mario 3d world but that game is leaps more fun. Also another thing is that the whole collect different weapons mechanic is kinda weird because for most of the time, I thought Kirby without any ability’s and just sucking was better expect for the ones where you require an ability
I love when people realize that “Kirby Games” are way more difficult than they seem to be. Especially when you go for 100%. Some of the collectibles & challenges are absolutely brutal 😂. I can recall numerous times getting frustrated at a “Simple” Kirby Game.
If it's the same level of difficulty than those super mario rpg's...well f this I won't lose 30 more hours of my life skydiving to 100%.
To this day I can't complete the great cave on superstar ultra
The challenge levels, I'll call them are challenging because of the time you need to beat. I think people still define a game as challenging based off of how many times it can kill you
@@TricksterLawlet because that’s what makes a game challenging
@@octoxicbeballin well not always, for example donkey kong country returns has an absolutely hellish 100% not just because of how difficult some levels are (not to say there aren’t some really tough levels because there are) but because of the nightmarishly difficult speedrun levels requiring you to literally learn how to perfect each and every level in order to get 100%
I haven't played it yet but it looks like it takes inspiration from all of the 3d Mario titles while maintaining its unique Kirby charm and identity.
Aside from them being 3D linear platformers, I don't see much it has in common with 3D world
It's sort of like Mario Odyssey. Suuuuper fun for Kirby fans

I love the forgotten lands as a palette cleanser after finishing playing elden ring for the day. So much charm, so happy. Exactly what you need after the depressing world of elden ring
Kirby and Elden Ring is the new power couple after Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing NH
"So much charm, so happy."

Ooh, I like that idea! I'm not exactly planning to play Elden Ring, but I am playing pretty heavy games. So the idea of playing this Kirby game as a palette cleanser makes me want to buy it.

After hearing about how this game was going to come out, I didn't care, and knew I wasn't going to get it. But then I saw they released a demo for it, so I thought hey why not, and I gave it a try. And I'm so glad I did, because it was really fun and enjoyable, and with that, I decided to buy the game on the release day! It's a really enjoyable game and I highly recommend it.
And that's why they should do more demos
Demo definitely got me
Same here, never really played any Kirby games before. Played the demo and knew it was an instant buy. Bought it right as it released and don’t regret it at all!

As always amazing video Wood!!! Loved it, can’t wait to play this game!
I am determined to get all the target times even though I know it doesn't do anything. I'm stuck on the final hammer one and there's one I haven't unlocked (I suspect finishing postgame will do it). Some of them require almost total perfection, it's crazy.
Yeah the hammer one was hard. I think I got it by spamming uncharged hammer flips the first waves, spamming the hammer drop flame tornados (hold b while falling) on the monkey snake wave, then by holding a full charged hammer flip on wild bonkers and praying
So fun fact. You can use the speed boosts in the timed stages. Had no idea until I went in with some leftover speed time. Definitely makes certain levels easier.
Ooooh good to know
Correction Kirby's first game wasn't adventure on the NES it was actually Kirby's Dreamland on Gameboy. The more you know.
came here to say this. Dreamland was one of my first video games ever.
Was looking for this comment
Thanks for clarifying. I was confused when he said that cuz I loved dreamland.
Glad someone said it, came here to say this too 😂
Agree about the quality of the game but I have started asking...am I the bad guy? I kept killing creatures doing nothing.
as have i, the true morality question, are we the hero or are we the villain that came to ruin the peaceful tranquility of said peaceful creatures doing nothing.
yeah, probably. you don't even need to kill them to beat the level
@@Robospy1 though I have a feeling this may become another good game for speedruns
Not much in the Kirby series truly dies, so no worries, you're good. If you wanna dive deeper into the lore and what's going on, read the descriptions of the collectible figures. That's where a lot of this game's lore is stored.

I was ready to rage when I saw the title cause this game is amazing
This is actually the first Kirby game I've played, and I only got it for my daughter, but it's actually a lot of fun playing coop with her, I'd never play it by myself tho, I only have limited time for games and too many great games to play.
It's definitely one of the better Kirby titles, my favorite is tied with superstar ultra and planet robobot. But most modern mainline Kirby games were fun and great. I also read that HAL Labs is going to keep making 2D games alongside the 3D ones. Plus if you every get a chance, why don't you play the first three modern mainline kirby games.

@@jaylemann7050 why you keep saying that 😂😂😂
This is my first Kirby game and I absolutely adore it! All the little secret areas and hidden waddle dees are sorta like an achievement system and it makes you want to replay levels just to unlock those
I grew up playing Kirby's Dreamland 1&2 for the original Game Boy... and am now like two levels away from completing Forgotten Land and I absolutely LOVE it. It's just simply fun.
Have a new tradition where right before buying and right before actually starting a game, I'll watch your video on it. Not only helps me decide whether to actually get a game or not, but also gets me hyped up when I'm starting a new game.
Honestly I feel similarly. I've played Kirby games in the past. I still remember playing it on the original fat Gameboy. I don't even think he had copy abilities at that point.
But this game really grabbed me. Glad I both checked out the demo and decided to give this a shot. Because it's a lot of fun. There's a lot of elements where it is pretty casual and safe. But the completionist side is hard. The post-game gets hard. There is absolutely challenge there. And the story going from a casual journey into something that felt like Fallout was utterly nuts. Or maybe DBZ is more appropriate. Anyways, things got wild real fast.
Loved it.
As a Hardcore Kirby fan (it's really not that hard) it was funny but also painful to see you struggle with controlling the hammer which was my favorite ability in Super Star. (Spoiler Warning for Past Kirby Games Below)

Also, Kirby has had exposition dumps and anime plot twists for the penultimate and final level of the main campaign since Kirby's Adventure. It's also been breaking your controller since Return to Dream Land.
Kirby Adventure on NES is still something I play often. I still really love it just as much as I did as a child, everythjng about it.
I did love the 3DS games like Planet Robobot . So I will probably be playing this one too.
You're not wrong on the vast experimental games involving Kirby. I remember owning Kirby Tilt'n Tumble on the GBC. That was quite fun for being unique.
@BeatEmUps Hey brother, LOVE the video as always. Just wanted to toss in a well-meaning note here that the mixing on the video seems kinda all over the place for some reason. Some of the sound effects/background music can be blazingly loud and/or completely drown out what you were saying.....Definitely outside the norm, just figured I'd toss it out there.....
I've literally only played three Kirby games in my life. Super Star Ultra, Star Allies one night with friends at their place, and now Forgotten Land. I'm absolutely loving thing game! It's casual, but can give you a big challenge if you opt into that.
So excited to get this game! I found Stars Allies disappointing, but I'm a sucker for any cute pink creature. So glad this game will last longer and will be harder than Stars Allies.

Yo BeatEmUps! Did you notice that in the second stage of the final boss fight, Mario Galaxy music plays for a couple seconds? It plays the music when you fight Bowser in the final fight on the very last moon, the one inside the big sun thing.

Great review wood and I agree based on what I’ve played so far. But as a more casual Kirby fan that has only beaten robobot, I’m kinda confused why wood said the game was random until the end because the lore is hidden yes, but context is there if you look deep enough. Of course I haven’t beaten the forgotten land yet, but from what I’ve played, there seems to be a lot of context in the descriptions of the gacha trophies. Just my thoughts though. ❤️

Great video, will be picking up Kirby later this week. Still playing through Elden Ring and finally beat Melania earlier today so after that I need a relaxing game…
Love some original Kirby and Kirby 64. As much as I love Kirby though, the games are braindead easy. Hoping the new one is at least somewhat challenging.
This will be my first Kirby game and I'm freaking excited!
Finally a review that actually talks about the game like it's a game and not just reading off some bullet points with a bit of context thrown in. Searched for a review on this game when it launched and only got results from the big name corporate reviewers, none of them convinced me this game was worth the price for the time nor did they explain how much there really is to do.
Kirby actually has a lot in common with the SoulBorne games being that the lore is not out tell simply with cutscenes, but reading pause menus when fighting bosses or in the case of the new game on the description of the figurines you unlock through the game.
This is the first Kirby game I’ve ever played… but I really love it! It’s so cute and fun! It is a little reminiscent of Mario Odyssey.

I didn't like the demo because it was way too easy. Is there a way to make the game more difficult? I felt like I was just walking in a linear path solving simple puzzles. It didn't even feel like a game anymore. I used to enjoy Kirby as a child but I just can't enjoy it anymore.
I feel like it’s dependent on what you want kind of challenge you want from a Kirby game. I‘ve completed the main game and can say that while I haven’t exactly died a whole lot, the challenges and finding the collectibles really tested me, especially towards the end of the game. I feel like a good amount of this game’s difficulty comes from the doing those challenges, and I had a lot more fun than a good amount of the Kirby games that I’ve played (though, this comes from someone who likes most of the main games)
I’m also somewhat in post-game, and I will say, the difficulty really starts to step up not that far in.
@Logan McGlynn I just don't like games with no challenge. It doesn't need to be Mario it just needs to have difficulty or it feels like you're not doing anything
