The darkest thing is that AAA games from 8 years ago still go at full price. The greed of Nintendo is everlasting and people just eat it.
i never buy a game at full price. It's crazy.
If it's not on sale, they should keep it.
$60 is a lot of money for an old game.
Skyrim being $60 is straight robbery.
@@chrisjs6228 sad face. But kinda understandable with the limited amount of these kind of games on Switch. But seriously my 3rd version of the game is not gonna be full price

@@jeffreywilliams1347 Not true at all. PS store always puts AAA games on sale, especially after OP's 8 year argument. Nintendo has always been greedy.
Iâm still so shocked that Nintendo took down 3D All Stars. Like the amount they sold in a short time and the amount they would have kept selling with Mario (especially Galaxy) makes their decision insane

i wonder if the game removed for "mature content" was actually incorrectly rated.
nintendo allows full nudity in retail games, as long as their rating correctly says 18+.
for eshop games they allow partial nudity, again as long as it is rated for 18+
if the game doesn't have an 18+ rating despite having nudity it is incorrectly rated, and nintendo rejects it because parental controls wouldn't work correctly for it.
Also, an 18+ rating is an AO (adults only) game, since M rating only allows for partial nudityâŠ
(so essentially Nintendo allows AO pr0n games on their console, as long as it is cartridge only and not on the eshopâŠ)
Nintendo Doesn't Make Sense And Possibly Nintendo NEVER Made Any Sense From The Beginning Of The Nintendo Life Cycle 1985 .
@@crazysilly2914 AO games are banned in literally all storefronts both online and in person, and only around 8 or so AO games have ever been published. Most of the time explicit games release a censored M rated version exclusively on steam and then offer an "uncensored version" which is AO as free DLC. Even then the category of M rated games is very wide. It can range from basically every major Atlus title with minor sexual references, light swearing, fantasy violence, and blood to stuff like TLOU2 which is so violent that it gives R rated slasher films a run for their money and contains full frontal nudity and detailed frick scenes.
Edit: Basically, if your game mentions sex in any way, you get an instant M. The same rating as TLOU2 and other uber-violent, uber-sexual games like it. The M rating is arguably the most wide in gaming since it can range from "almost T" (Persona 3 & 4, Strange Journey, Steins;Gate and it's spinoffs, Ace Attorney 5, the retro Mortal Kombats, retro Doom 1 and 2, Oblivion, Skyrim, Dark Souls 1 and 3, etc) to "the worst of the worst." (GTA, Manhunt, Postal, TLOU2, etc) There should really be a "T15+" rating like they added E10+ to make there be a middle ground between the truely adult and the slightly more violent/raunchy teen focused stuff.
@@krimsonkatt not necessarily. pr0n shops may sell them.
@@krimsonkatt The reason only a handful of AO games have ever been published is because ESRB rating is not actually necessary for digital only releases, it's only required for retail sale.
Removing "A Dark Room" is understandable because a Ruby interface is basically THE invitation to run unauthorized code. At this point you need to figure out a security vulnerability to access the underlying system and from there on a homebrew enabler is "basically a cakewalk". I put it in quotation marks because you still need a lot of programming experience to make it work.
also on top of the expirence you would need to find a software exploit to escape the game itself.
Cooking Mama crashed twice when I play that game. I played so many switch games and nothing ever crashed until I play Cooking Mama. Really disappointing since I bought physical copy of it.
At least itâs physical and you can sell it.

Have you tried saint roe by chance? I believe itâs the 2nd or maybe 3rd I canât really remember to well but anyway the switch or my switch at least wonât even let me progress in the game, it crashes without fail at a certain mission and I was never able to continue the game. Such a waste of money
It was the one with super powers so I think the 3rd
The Pokemon Cafe Remix part really felt like a stretch. They didn't change too much of the core gameplay. They added some RPG elements by making the level up system for pokemon have more of an effect. Also all the 1200 stages from the old version of the game is still available, you just need to go through some menu tabs and they don't really add too much to your progress other than some exclusive costumes for your pokemon. If you were an old player from before the update, they would remember your progress in the old levels but you still have to play from the beginning for the new levels. You would also get back all of your previously obtained pokemon after completing the tutorial.
Remember back in the day when I was in the Game Industry business (literally 2-3 years), it was super hard to pass the quality check for Nintendo and Sony. For the slightest issue that might cause a crash or blocker, they would return it. Nowadays, it seems that nobody gives a damn anymore.
um have you even tried trying to get switch access its almost impossible
I remember a minecraft clone with killer ants that wore guns in the 3ds eshop

Taking off Mario 35 was so disappointing. Just as I was getting decent at it and winning they removed it. It was really fun! And what about the people who spent so much time creating that game just to have it removed from the eShop, not having people enjoy it? Kinda sucky

It's especially weird considering that Pacman 99 and Tetris 99 are still available.
You said the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft was removed because they wanted to port over the pc version to replace it. While somewhat true, this statement is not 100 percent correct. What happened was that they originally could not get the pc version of Minecraft to work on consoles so they would remake Minecraft from the ground up to run on consoles. However, they still had to constantly update each version, and after having about 7 different versions to work on, the developers started to feel overwhelmed. What they did was they released a version of Minecraft made just for consoles, however it was separate from the pc version, and that is what replaced the Nintendo Switch version. This new version of Minecraft is referred to as the bedrock edition, and the pc version is referred to as the Java version. They did release the bedrock edition on pc, however it is commonly considered inferior to the Java edition.
Bedrock is the mobile version
@@screener0797 Bedrock is not just for mobile, but also on PC, and all the game consoles.
It was really interesting hearing about the Cooking Mama game since I actually have a physical copy of it and play it without any problems. It's never crashed on me or over heated my switch. I mean, I don't think it's the best game in the franchise, but I still think it's fun to play and the recipes don't take too much time if you only have a short amount of time to play
I remember when I was preordering it. The sales lady and I were talking about how we were surprised by the PS4 edition and that they had different release dates. (PS4 didnât even have a date tbh but there was a full listing)
By the time it was released all the news was out about the game. IP holder wanting to cancel, developer doing it anyway. The PS4 version not in the contract. The crypto/blockchain nonsense.
âŠI ended up never playing the game and just held onto it to resale in 5+ years.

I can confirm the overheating will never be an issue. The switch physically couldn't overheat itself as long as it get's proper cooling.
As far as I and the internet knows, there is no physical copy of Fire Emblem 30th. Just a bunch of collector swag and a download code. Also there are tons more adult oriented switch games (both digital and physical) that are out there. Switch is pretty much the new Vita in that regard
And those download codes are the only way to get the game now since you can no longer buy it from the eshop.
@@nightwing179 Or if you buy someone's account off/gameshare with someone who had it
Yep just download code. No physical version. I have the downloaded game on my Switch. Sucks.
I have two of these titles digitally, but I archived them a while ago since I didn't enjoy playing them. I had no idea that they were ever removed until just this moment. Thankfully it will still let me re-download them, I was going to be pretty angry if it just stole money from me lmao.
Fire Emblem was announced to have the limited release when it first came out. It wasnât a hidden detail or random de-listing.
Like what many people have said, the Fire Emblem physical collection doesn't have a physical cart for the game. It has a standard game box (iirc but whatever) that only contains a digital voucher code for the game, and that's the ONLY way to get the game: through the eShop. Dunno if the voucher codes still work even after the game got delisted from the eShop, but yeah people who missed it then might not be able to play it legally anymore.
But then... there are 2 alternatives for that: either grabbing a physical copy of Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon on the DS or buy its digital version from the Wii U eShop before its closure late March 2023. Why this one? Because it's a FULL BLOWN REMAKE OF FIRE EMBLEM 1 aka the VERY NES game that got delisted from the Switch eShop.
Now, there's the caveat of spending a lot of money online to grab a physical DS copy of Shadow Dragon or even more for a Wii U since the latter was discontinued a few years ago. Then, and yes THEN, if you go with the Wii U route, you'll STILL need to make a new eShop account, then buy a gift card for it and THEN buy the game off the eShop for about 10$ or so.
I never understood why didn't Nintendo used the DS version as the basis for the Switch release of Fire Emblem 1 as it's the superior version compared to the NES one they legally hacked into making it more accessible to everyone for a very short period of time.
The coder in the game, that sounds amazing! There's games that are just about solving problems via coding (not everyone's cup of tea I know). So having to solve problems via Ruby and interacting with an API (I assume that's the intended) would be fun! (Well, for a certain kind of player)
Quick correction on Minecraft: The Nintendo Switch version wasnât missing any features from the PC versions, but it didnât offer crossplay and operated on a different codebase. (Also themed worlds were offered in other console versions. Playstation had a Little Big Planet one.)
The new unified platform was actually built on the Pocket edition (for mobile), but I believe Windows 10 was created on the same codebase from the get-go. Also note that the Java edition for PC, Mac, and Linux that most CZcamsrs play on is still a separate edition.
Anyways great video! đ
man the little big planet map was so good on the ps3, the memories of all those themed maps feel so new even tho it has been years since I last played them
The most dark thing is how early AAA Switch games are still $60. Even worse, Wii U port still being expensive.
Anyone remember that creepy horror game where ur in the back of a cab n have to beat off without getting caught by the cab driver. It was up for preorder from what I remember and Nintendo removed it before it released.

The "physical" version of Fire emblem is just bonus items. The actual game is still just a download. The box included a download code for the game
its probably better just to buy the remake for the ds called fire emblem shadow dragon
@@joeyisabsb1 They're pretty different games and experiences. Personally I find both fun. A lot of people would disagree and say that FE1 is bad though
I have Mario 3D All Stars digitally, although I wouldn't go as far as to call it a "rare" achievement since physical versions are surprisingly super prevalent. I also have Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon which was interesting because I think it's the closest thing we'll ever get to Virtual Console on the Switch. I believe the physical version was just a download code with collectibles, so you aren't missing out on a cartridge at the very least.
The most obscure one I have that actually ISN'T mentioned in this video is the Balan Wonderworld demo which got delisted after receiving very negative reception. This caused the devs to update the main version of the game, although from what I heard it didn't really make things better.
Hey Can you still play the digital games even after they take them down if you own them?
Nevermind
@@1ManBassBand so long as they are still downloaded to your Switch, yes. In most cases, the eShop still archives them for you in the âRedownloadâ section on your profile if you already downloaded them at least once in the past. I know this because the âDaemon X Machina Prototype Missionsâ are still downloadable for me even after they were removed from the eShop in favor of the newer demo.
I imagine that with some of the more extreme cases, such as the one Wood mentioned involving giving people the option to code on Switch, those type of games would likely be removed for download on the eShop no matter what. Iâve even heard that system updates can remove games like these.
Thanks king I appreciate it
The Stranger Things game was pulled from the eShop due to Netflix creating their own games studio and the ability to play their games in the app. Thus making the game exclusive to Netflix subscribers.
Have to say wood, your videos have been top notch entertainment and better than ever! Love that your posting more often and awesome funny videos
Oh no, Iâm also just recovering from a nasty cold!!! Iâm sure youâve been recovered a while now, i hope! Thank you for every e shop video youâve ever done, I will watch them all always!!
What I donât get is how eShop games are far more expensive than the actual physical versionsâŠitâs a good thing I love physical versions more as I love owning the cases đȘđŒ
many digital games that have physical releases are cheaper. first party tho you pay full price unless your lucky to find one at a walmart for $50. atelier ryza games are more expensive as physical same with xenoblade chronicles, but with the atelier games you have to import. i paid almost $80 for each on amazon cause they are import only for the west. most of the time physicals are only cheaper if buy used at gamestop and thats if your lucky to find any good ones worth playing or if they go on sale at different stores which is rare.
And the funny thing is that the physicals cost more to make bc of the case, and they take up less storage on the switch, so they should DEFINITELY be more than what theyâre priced
@@danganidot I see what you mean just finding it a little ridiculous how Nintendo donât drop prices over time! On the eShop or physical I mean even ps5 games are cheaper then some Switch games đđđ Nintendo needs to get with the program!
@@DadsLoveGaming I agree, but I understand why, itâs so their games get a better name than other consoles. Because they donât drop their prices, they are tricking their customers to buying immediately because itâs better for the customer. Like if everyone of your friends has a game but you donât because your mom said to wait for the price to drop, then a year later the price is still the same, youâre just gonna buy it anyways. So the main reason the prices donât drop is so people buy the game immediately and the gameâs stats for the first month or whatever are higher, I think?
@@danganidot I can understand that to a point if Iâm being honest. Nintendo have always been good with their market strategies but still find it annoying đ

I love stuff like this; for a few months I've been going between both the Aus and US e-shop and seeing games that aren't available in my home region. Two examples are 'Mary Skelter Finale' and the Switch port of 'Fruits of Grisaia' which both were refused classification; this baffles me because games from the Genkai Tokki series show up on both online stores as well as 'Omega Labyrinth Life.'
Another interesting delisting was a game called Duel Princess. Its a tower defense game with anime girls and suggestive cut scenes. It was delisted from the eShop a couple weeks after release because Nintendo apparently deemed it too lewd.
