If you're going to have comics not on SNL, please have Kathleen Madigan and Lewis Black. They're incredible. Kathleen does an amazing podcast, she was on Tom Papa's and Marc Maron's and so many others and she's hilarious!

I think Jim Gaffigan is amazing!! He is so funny. I really like the way he mostly keeps it clean and doesn't swear often. I don't have to kick my kids out of the room and everyone can watch him. His show is so hilarious and I find myself laughing out loud which I don't do a lot.
I saw Richard Jeni at the Comedy Connection in Boston in the early 90s and he DESTROYED. We sat up front + I died. DIED. I hv never laughed so hard at a comedy show before (or after), but I had tears, cheeks hurt, the whole nine. He looked down at me bcuz I had to sink down in my seat to try to stop.
It sucked to hear that someone, who I’ll never forget for mkg me laugh harder than anyone else, was suffering himself. RIP RJ, you + your talent aren’t forgotten.

Jim Gaffigan is hysterical, love his work and attitude. Great.. I enjoyed the podcast. It was interesting that his favorite comic is Richard Pryor and after a minute of hem hawing all Jim could come up with is that Pryor was vulnerable. Geez, for one's favorite comic, a comedian's favorite?? I mean words like honesty about Richard's jokes, how truthful they were to where even today when something happens in life real Pryor fans still relate it to a Pryor line. It was TRUTH that Richard spoke. I didn't understand Jim being lost for words, which he rarely is? Still love Gaffigan for the great laughs he gives so many. Just didn't understand that one part of the discussion.

Pryor is up there. For me, Carlin is #1 by far. No one else is close. Jeni was great.

Love Gaffigan. Quote his comedy SO much I should probably be charged with copyright infringement.
I really enjoyed his work during Covid. He would have dinner with his family and do skits with his kids. One that was funny was his sons were trying to take the show away from him.

I have always felt that raunchy comics have to be raunchy because they are not really that funny. People laugh because they are shocked that someone said this or that. I do have a question for anyone who is in the know. Do comics do specials for HBO or Netflixx when they are done with touring with the material?
Not necessarily. Some will continue using the same (or some of the same) material for a tour they are currently doing. But if the special streams at the end of a tour, then yes they are probably ready to move on and work on new stuff.

Cousin of mine was on the way to Nevada when the moon landing happened and I think it was WGN radio that was broadcasting it a bunch of other stations were broadcasting at WG wasn't yet a clear station and it wasn't such a huge ownership of radio stations across the country back then obviously.
And he heard the moon landing as they pulled off to the side road and looked up at the moon, but he couldn't see it.

A lot of people are not interested in how comedy is made. They are like the people who like to eat sausage, but don't want to see how it is made.
That's not their issue at all. It's Jim & how his content changed in the last several years. Whether you love it or hate it or agree with him or disagree, even Jim admits he's changed up his comedic talking points some. And, there are some ppl who liked his sets before who now don't care for the changes. That's literally what most ppl are commenting. (*yes there's also 🫏🍑. But not all. They're entitled to their opinions same as you and me. 🤷🏼♀️)

I love Jim Gaffigan! He is in my top 5 comedians of all time. I appreciate his political opinions and the fact he is using his status to bring some sanity to this insanity.

Overall, if a giant sentient being observed earth as a marble, it would feel and seem smooth. The difference between the highest point (everest peak) and the lowest(Mariana trench) is about 2-5 miles (I went large just to be safe) and the diameter of earth is 7917.5 miles. Meaning that is about 0.05 percent (estimation, no calculations done, probably much less) fluctuation on the surface, feeling almost smooth to the touch.

NOBODY gets a comedian like another comedian: not even the person they marry. The connection the vibe is unique only to comedians. This is probably the best part of being one.
I compare the kinship to other subcultures, like, skaters or deaf people; it’s a tight clique.

I listen to the podcast on a different service. Since it's only audio, there's almost no reason to listen on CZcams unless you have premium or CZcams music.

Love Jim Gaffigan but unfortunately guys, this was boring. I find it interesting to get the inside scoop on procedural elements of operating as a comedian but this became more like a clinic. I did see David in Clearwater and he was hilarious. He did seem like his back was bothering him, though. A lot of stool leaning. At one point, a lady got up to go out and he commented, “I’m going to need you to leave for this one”. Perfect timing for a comedian on top of his game. Great show David!

If Unfrosted is only on Netflix and not at theaters, that means it’s not worth seeing. It means it doesn’t have enough merit to be memorable and valuable.

I'm older than you young pups by a decade, and its too bad I gave up drinking. But if I still did, I'd be tickled to be drinking Jim's bourbon. Is it "Father Time",.....that "old baby" character who rings in the New Year or is it an actual time period? Like, now comes "Miller Time" ? Or Dad's time to chill, so its "Father Time" ? ...Copy: "Dad, you earned your time off. Its time to kick back and relax, with a shot of Father Time." "On the rocks, or Neat"....Anyway you like it.
For people who thought this podcast was supposed to be primarily SNL focused and are disappointed that it's turned into another podcast with celebrities talking about their career and promoting upcoming projects, try The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers podcast.
They actually talk about behind the scenes stories and their experiences. It's what most of us thought this was supposed to be.
I mean, tbf, how many episodes you gonna get from those limitations, and in a row? I'm cool with Spadoodle & Carvey's format. When there's an SNL'er on, they dish behind the scenes shnit. Chill. 😎

I dont think any of the references these guys use are hard to get,and im pretty young . Chakra Conn was an amazing comedian back in the 80's. I love that Dana is so positive. Out of nowhere he just says "it's a wonderful life",great thought 🙌
Gaffigan used to be kinda funny. However his political rant on the Rogan podcast was so cringeworthy, especially when Rogan corrected him made him look like he has tds. Carvey doing the Biden impressions is funny af because it's true.
If hes gone political even in the least, I'm not listening.

He is good for the simple crowd, or young kids. He lives off that impression of an audience rebuttal voice schtick. Most people are justifiably too hate-filled to listen to him. He's better than the Rogan queers. He's better than David Cross actually. Gary Gulman is better at the lame comedy. Chad Thornsberry is way underrated and the cleanest.

Yeah same. I always loved his stand up and sense of humor. Hate that he got political. It's one thing to do it in a joking manner, like Dana does with the impressions, but he went off and it soured me on him. I just don't need to know my favorite comedians political stances.

She seems pretty quick, it would be fun for everyone, I hope it could happen though I know these things aren't always easy and entertainment.
