Why I Embrace Uncertainty

- Uncertainty isn't bad or something to be avoided. For me, it seems to be a common thread that links my pursuits and interests. It's a natural sign of doing something meaningful. Something challenging.

I live in Australia and early last year I finally fulfilled a dream I've had for 40 years when my wife and I bikepacked South Island for nearly 3 weeks. We flew into Christchurch then after assembling our bikes and gear, headed out and down the Inland Scenic Route up to Mt Cook via Darfield, Geraldine, Lakes Tecapo and Pukaki. We then caught the chopper over the Tasman River to pick up the start of the A2O Trail and down to Oamaru. From there we hired a van to drive us and our bikes etc back to Christchurch were we had 2.5 glorious days mooching around the city in beautiful sunny weather before flying home just in time! So, my findings from our trip...1)NZ IMHO, is now up there with Canada as the most beautiful place in the world to cycle! 2) Kiwis are very cool, friendly people! 3)U guys do have great cafes with great coffee too! 4)U guys are so spoilt for choice with your cycling trails etc! 5)I love Jacinda even more! 6) As roadside rubbish is my absolute cycling bugbear here in Oz, I was amazed and impressed at how clean the road sides were! 7) Our 3 weeks of bikepacking did not satiate my desire to cycle there but in fact, did the opposite, and I can't wait to return to explore more!
Wow, what a trip Lorenzo! Thanks for sharing. It is truly a beautiful place to explore biking or hiking. There are still lots of places on my bucket list in Oz. Let me know if you're ever in Christchurch - i'll shout you a coffee.
