Bikepacking New Zealand's Last Wilderness // Where Mountains Meet Sea

- Growing up as a kid, I was told the stories of the journeys taken by the Māori people searching for Pounamu (Greenstone) on the South Island's west coast. Journeys that took them over mountain ranges, rivers, and dense bush - all in search for this sacred stone.
Those journeys laid the seed for an idea: wouldn’t it be neat to link up some of these old trails and, in doing so, ride up some of the best single track we have here in Aotearoa New Zealand. In May 2021, me and four friends set off to do just that. This film documents our 4-day journey, attempting a complete circumnavigation of Kahurangi National Park.
