- In this tutorial I go over how to make a template from scratch. I show you how to create templates for drum plugin Satila which is a FREE Plugin. I also used Komplete Kontrol for for a sampler example and its free as well. Let me know if you any questions about the process below in the comments. Cakewalk is a FREE DAW. Yes you read correctly FREE! This a complete DAW that use to be a paid software. It comes with effects, plugins, mastering tools, instruments and everything need to create music. I decided to try and start making beats in Cakewalk to see what it can do and so far so good. Definitely check it out.

Thank you so much for the video. I found your videos are very helpful. I have a question for you. I have Eastwest Hollywood Orchestrator. When I record, it has several instruments recorded into one Cakewalk VST track. Is there a way the you can split the recorded track into separate tracks to get each instrument on a separate track? I tried to run the CAL script to split the track but it did not seem to work. I would appreciate if you could offer some tips. Thanks.
You should be able to setup a synth rack and add the tracks via one midi track and the others audio tracks... All midi and one audio track.. or Instrument tracks which is a combination of midi and audio track that Cakewalk has... This video might help czcams.com/video/rUj1XpkYHaM/video.html

can you put your tracks in a folder on the console mixer
That Im not sure... If your save the template everything that you have setup will save under that template.. But it sounds like you want a folder in the mixer ... I dont think Cakewalk does that.. It does give options to hide tracks from view but not put them in a folder from what I know.. Hope this helps 👍
