  • In this video, I review my Samson Xp106w wireless speaker system at a wedding ceremony This speaker is a 106w speaker that is battery powered, has bluetooth capabilities and has Aux, 1/4 in, xlr inputs. This speaker also touts a usb wireless mic. The Samson X106 is ideal for outdoor events or any other situation where access to electric outlets are limited.

    Thank you for the review. I made my decision to purchase this over a JBL PartyBox 100.
    I'll be using the speaker for Zumba.
    Best!

    fun fact: Through my first year of playing bass, this was the only thing around to play through since everything I used was borrowed. It has a soft spot in my heart for it but dang, 100% not for bass guitar haha. I messed that thing up. Finally got me a Ampeg ba 115, and I can tell you it is a unique experience upgrading to a legit stage bass amp coming from a fucking Samson expedition 106 that you borrowed from your friend's parents XD

    Thanks for the review. I was wondering if you've had any problems with the rechargeable battery after prolonged use. Like for example does it drain a lot quicker now after a year or so? Also most people mentioned this being good for playing tracks or karaoke. In your opinion do you think this would produce a good tone for acoustic instruments? I'm considering getting this for busking, so I'd be playing my instrument along with backing tracks and I'm looking for something that gives off a warm sound. Thanks in advance!

      Great question. As far as battery life, I took this camping over the weekend and it lasted almost two days on a single charge and I never turned it off once! I believe I’ve owned this speaker for over a year now and have had no problems with it. I also use it as my personal speaker in my house and yes I have used it for karaoke for family get togethers but I don’t do karaoke professionally so I can’t speak to that.
      I think it would be great for acoustic instruments in a small intimate setting like a coffee shop. The nice thing about it is that all the inputs can work simultaneously. So you can run the Bluetooth, mic/line, and Aux without having to switch between them. The only drawback is the wireless USB mic can’t be trusted and more than likely would have quite a bit of drop out. It will work in a pinch if you don’t have access to any electric like I didn’t in this video. Otherwise I plug in my regular wireless mic. Hope this helps!

      @@Mr_Boykin That's great to hear! Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. I'm heavily considering getting it then, especially because it comes at an affordable price. I wish you continued success with your gigs and once again, many thanks for looking out!

      Stinky Pinky you’re welcome! Outside the mic thing I love it! But you can get it with or without the mic and save some money.

    Thanks for the upload. Looking to buy this for my ceremonies. Would one work for a size of about 200 people ? How has the mic performed ? Any drop outs ? Thanks

    • @Mr_Boykin
      @Mr_Boykin  Před 4 lety +1

      Lavish Life Djs Dj Peck hey sorry I’m just now seeing this! I don’t know if you’ve already made a decision to buy or not but to answer your questions, I think 200 is about the limit as to how many people it would work for. Indoors maybe a bit more. I am not a huge fan of the mic it will have some pretty significant drop outs more than about 15-20ft from the unit. When possible, I try to use my regular wireless mic but if you don’t have access to power the USB mic will work in a pinch. Hope that helps and again sorry for missing your question before.

      @lavishlifedjs Před 4 lety +1

      Christian Boykin thanks for the response. Yeah I use the sennheiser G4 wireless mic system now. Just couldn’t rely on a mic with the potential for drop outs.

    Hi mine is exactly like that one but once I connect the Bluetooth or insert usb it doesn't give sounds ..what could be the problem

    • @Mr_Boykin
      @Mr_Boykin  Před rokem +1

      So the USB is for the microphone only. If you’re trying to play music from a USB it is not designed to work for that purpose. I’m not sure why you would get sound if you’re using Bluetooth unless the volume is down one what device you’re trying to connect to it. I can’t say without seeing your speaker. Does it work when you plug a microphone directly into it? How long have you had it and did it ever work?
