One thing to just keep in mind, often times the deeper the grief, just shows how deep the love is. We feel the loss of the ones we love the most the hardest.

I've lost a lot over the years and I've always said our grief is like you've expressed.
I still hate the losses, but it's taught me to cherish the good people I am lucky enough to have. I also try to live with this in mind to BE one of those people for others.
Never apologize for honest tears.

I didn't see this comment before, but even though it's been 3 weeks, I still want to respond to it because it does affect me what you all say.
This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Especially how Rob sings it with his voice full of emotions, Tim's piece with Amazing Grace and then the beautiful harmony.
I've lost a lot of loved ones in my life. My father died 3 days before my 6th birthday. (I am now 59) We got a stepfather who has always been very good to us (6 children in total). He died 11 years ago. He is one of the many people I have had to say goodbye to in the last 15 years. For example, my then sister-in-law (48), a nephew (29), my then mother-in-law (74) and my best friend (43) all died within 1½ years. That was one of the reasons my marriage broke up. I got a new partner who passed away unexpectedly in January 2019. And even though it was a relationship with ups and downs, it still hit hard. I already regularly listened to music and watched YT, but since his passing I really started doing it a lot. Especially to Home Free who really helped me during that difficult period.
And although the Netherlands (where I live) is not big, at that time I felt I lived too far away from my mother, especially I don't have a driver's license. I then moved to the same place where my mother lives. I see her now at least 3x a week and sometimes more. And although it is sometimes difficult for me physically due to an accident, I do the shopping twice a week for my mother (85) and for her sister (89) as long as I can. I rarely, if ever, skip those. I cherish every moment with her and my aunt because I know it can end that way too. And I'm just sometimes afraid that if I skip it one day. it could be the last. I couldn't say goodbye to my partner. And just before the night he died, something bad happened and I didn't sleep with him. And that always stays with me.
You are an impressive young Man. I lost my Dad in ‘12 and my Mom 3 days before her 90th Birthday that was to be on Thanksgiving Day.
Prayers to you, my brother. I feel you are a spiritual soul and I pray that God envelops you through your grieving process. 🙏

We played this at my Daddy's funeral 2 yrs ago. That pain is as fresh today. Only know and believe your loved one is waiting for you...they just made it to heaven first❤❤❤
I think of my Dad up there riding his horses with his idol John Wayne. Grandma's up there keeping an eye on him, my aunt, my uncle, my cousin and my other cousin's son who recently passed. It gives me comfort to think of them all together.
Honey, just remember this: Your daddy is at peace and no more pain, disease or anything hard. He is still with you. Just in a different form, but he's there. I'm sure your daddy wouldn't want you to be in such pain for him because he loves you. That bond will never be broken, ever, ever. God needed your father to be with him and help him. That's a lovely thing but sad for us who lost our loved ones. You'll be OK. Just give it time and hold tight to your good memories. Those are our gifts. Like video movies on our minds we can play whenever we want and need to. Home Free sings How Great Thou Art. I think that one might help you. My heart is with you. I lost both of my parents and another lady who helped raise me years ago. I miss them everyday, but the tears stopped and smiles replaced them with my happy memories. My heart goes out to you. I'm very sorry for the loss of your dad. I lost my dad October 23, 2021 the day before my 59th birthday. He was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure in September of that year. He wanted to stay at home so the family rallied around him and took care of him till his last breath. He was 91. He was a great dad and it was an honor to take care of him. We played this song and How Great Thou Art at his service. He was in awe of Home Free and their amazing harmonies. Stay strong and take care of yourself. You are an inspiration.

When I was young I lost my 12 yr old cousin. I was 11. Over the years whenever a family member would have problems she would help us through she is now our guardian angel

I lost my father to cancer in 2020. He was the strongest man I knew. He provided for his family as a husband and father and he provided spiritual counseling or just a shoulder to lean on as a Baptist minister.
He took care of me when I was growing up and I had the honor of taking care of him until he took his last breath.
We lost our son last year, a granddaughter and brother, within 7 months. I feel your grief and wish I could give you a hug. I have two more songs for you. Not that I need to hear them. I listen to them often, but for you. One is Monsters, covered by Iam Tongi. Second is How Great Though Art, sung by Vince Gill and Carrie Underwood. I just stumbled on you just now. But as the years have gone by (I'm 49 now), I find more and more that I think of those times we had together on the water or in the woods, and I smile. And I think of the times I know I made him proud. Music like this touches me in such a beautiful way, this is how the choirs will sing in southern baptist church and it gives me nostalgic memories of all of the old men I'd sit with at church and they'd always rub my head or put their shoulder over me and hold me.
