  • Follow my journey off SSRI/SNRI antidepressants after 14 years of physical dependence.
    I detail my journey so far, and how poorly the medical establishments understand protracted withdrawal and possible iatrogenic injuries to the central nervous system and body from these class of drugs.
    I aim to be a person of hope for anyone out there fighting to reclaim their lives off these synthetic neurotoxic poisons. 😊💪

    14 years is a very long time. I was on SSRI type meds for about 2 years and I barely came off super slowly.
    I had to learn this on CZcams, doctors have no idea, they just give the meds without solving the root issue.
    You are a brave man, keep it up.

    I came across your channel researching the withdrawal symptoms of quitting venlafaxine cold turkey and I am so glad I took the time to listen to a couple of your videos from beginning to end. I am on your first video now because I wanted more context. First of all, I am in admiration for the fact that you are being public about such a personal topic, I am almost driven to do the same, as my country has extremely conservative views on mental health and it's not talked about enough, at least in my native language for everyone to be educated. Secondly, I am, as you advised, going to now undertake the research to find the ways to make this process easiest for me, coming out of 6 years of 75 then 150mg (current) daily venlafaxine dose. I shed a tear as you mentioned the hell it is, I feel like you probably saved my life through voicing out.
    Thank you, for this, for existing, for fighting, for trying, for helping. ❤ Lots of love your way

    Also was on Effexor 225mg, Prozac & Pregabalin… the 3 were told to me by psyc as a ‘standard work up’… nothing standard about 3 meds mushed into your brain/body. I came off these all, then thought relapse (was paws) and went back on them all… the psyc put in my notes ‘pre-lithium’.. that was going to be my fate, I’m broken but glad it wasn’t.

    Hi Cole, just curious if you also suffer from any heart palpitations, ringing ears, blood sugar regulation problems During the waves or adrenaline surges etc. I notice if I get a bout of nervous or panic or even push to much exercise, I go into what feels like hypoglycaemia attacks. My blood sugar levels are always normal which may caused by the brain/hormone imbalances

      Hi Anton, yeah man I suffer from tinnitus, I’m having a lot of pain in my ears at the moment, heart palpitations likewise 😞. I haven’t noticed any blood sugar regulation problems, or any hypoglycaemia attacks. Have you been able to contact or get any medical advice from any of those problems you mentioned ? I know all of mine are drug related due to neurotoxicity, all I can do is lower the drug slowly and smartly, eat well and let healing happen. I hope you continue to heal mate and those affects minimise 😊🙏

      There businesses should be shut down, dangerous practices playing with peoples lives. It’s wild what some of these so called health therapists can get away with.

    I’ve been suffering from a group of symptoms from fatigue, tingling sensations, muscle twitching including the internal vibrations that started in the chest then started to noticed throughout the body after my odd occasion of drug and alcohol use. I just wonder if this sounds like symptoms of Akathisia and if it can be caused by this as well other than antidepressants

    • @livingunderachemicalinflue5849
      @livingunderachemicalinflue5849  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey Anton, it sounds like it to me. I have internal vibrations likewise in the chest for the past 4 years. Yep, akathisia can be caused by other drugs outside the use of antidepressants. I’m not sure of all of them, but anything that affects the serotonin and dopamine levels in the brain has the ability to cause these symptoms.

    • @antons4419
      @antons4419 Před 3 lety +2

      Cole robertson I hear what your saying, indeed the substances I took work directly on serotonin and dopamine. I went into a full panic when I first noticed the internal muscle vibrations in chest area which seems to be wide spread now and can run high or low in severity. I noticed it most when laying down or sitting. I have also come across another channel that speaks in detail about these symptoms which has resulted from people not taking drugs or antidepressants but from high stress on the nervous system over years and HPA axis dysfunction resulting in a host of symptoms. Can I ask what all your symptoms are which you believe is from the akathisia?

    • @livingunderachemicalinflue5849
      @livingunderachemicalinflue5849  Před 3 lety +2

      @@antons4419 no problem, it’s quite a tough question as the symptoms and sensations can often be confused for just anxiety, or prolonged periods of high stress and cortisol release within the body. I truly believe I have a mix of both. The symptoms that I believe that stem from akathisia are the deep feelings of inner restlessness, feelings of deep internal terror, my mind running a thousand miles an hour with the worst case scenario thoughts, these sensations are unnatural and are the result of neurotoxicity and a chemical imbalance in the brain which has been caused by long term exposure to the drugs. I believe the brain and body, CNS can heal given time and the right nutrients and care for neurogenesis, but it’s a long process unfortunately. I hope you find true healing. 😊

      @antons4419 Před 3 lety +1

      Cole robertson I can completely understand what you have explained. Would you say that these sensations & racing mind of thoughts comes in waves daily? I’ve noticed this a lot with myself, also my energy to exercise is greatly reduced, unable to handle much stress anymore. I am based in Australia and been in touch with a functional doctor clinic here that offers IV treatments including glutathione, NAD+ for drug and alcohol abuse etc to try and find ways to help speed up the process of healing. NAC supplement for brain health is supposed to be of some help as well. But time and results will speak for themselves I guess.

      @@antons4419 hi mate sorry for the late reply. I’m originally from Australia but based in NZ at the moment. I believe I’ve suffered neuronal brain damage and down regulation of serotonin receptors. Due to this and the constant healing and rewiring of my brain I feel these racing mind thoughts and sensations all the time. I would say they come like a tidal wave that never crashes lol. Yep same here, I constantly feel fatigue and really have to push myself to exercise, but I know the benefits of exercise are worth the effort. Yep I currently take the NAC supplement daily, as well as good quality salmon pure oil, and a herbal supplement called lions mane.

      Apparently it’s very good for cognitive function and healing damaged nerve receptors in the brain, but as u say, time will tell. All the best Anton 😊🤜
