    I know that you did this video several years ago, but I just got a 1025R and I found your presentation to be exactly what I was looking for. I think that I can now install my 3pt hitch correctly. Thank you very much Sir

    This video helped me understand what was going on with my arms. The lazy dealership had all my 3 point hitch parts not put together because I had got a backhoe and no other attachments. So when I got a bush hog I had to put them together and like you look to see how they go together but I found a rudimentary guide. But nothing about the holes in the middle and I had a stroke some years back and now sometimes I don’t notice things. But since I now see the holes make a difference I now know how to fix my problem.

    I have owned my 1025R for 8 months. Never felt satisfied with the 3 point hitch as it always appeared wonky to me. Your video highlighted that that the arm on the left non adjustable side was the wrong way round, with the long section on the inside not the outside. THANK YOU!! Saved my sanity a little.

    Thanks for this! I'm in the same boat you were. I just bought my first 1025R. I've only had it a few days and I'm making my first attempt to attach my RC1048 brush hog mower to it. Your video was very helpful. Long, but worth it. I would have run into some of the same problems you did in figuring out how some parts fit together, so this saved me a lot of time, frustration and a call to the dealer/salesman!

    Thanks JL - Nice demonstration of installing the 3 point on the 1025R - I haven't installed mine in the year I have had my tractor because I have the 260B backhoe on it and use it all the time. Looks to be the same as on my JD2025r.....so I’m gonna go ahead and install the three-point hitch on my tractor. (Then I’ll mount the middle-plow and get that set up to plow my garden.)

      You're welcome. One item I forgot to mention is the bungee cord in the kit. It's supposed to be hooked between the arms so when no implement is attached, it keeps the linkage from flopping around side to side.

    • @mi2tn
      @mi2tn Před 6 lety +1

      Or you can use the bungee cord to go from one turn buckle, over the top of the PTO guard to the other turn buckle to keep them from turning and achieve the same thing and get rid of the rings. I didn't like the rings so I got rid of them. Bungee cord is so much easier.

    • @stevemartinez6757
      @stevemartinez6757 Před 6 lety +1

    Hello JL and hello to you to Tractor Monkey. New subscriber here. I also have the 2018 John Deere 1025R TLB. I love all the improvements made to the 260B backhoe as you point out in your other video. I myself have not ever installed a 3 point hitch. I will be installing the one that came with my 1025R soon and this video will make it a breeze. I have a letter and number stamp set so I think I will stamp markings on the arms to indicate direction for future installs after use of the backhoe, etc. I will be welding up my own hitch receiver and was wondering if you can give me a couple measurements that I need. The width of the hitch itself (not including the lift arm pins) and the distance from the center of the lift arm pins to the center of the top pin. I have a new Miller Matic 215 welder that I bought last summer and this hitch will be a perfect project. Keep up the great videos !!

  • @joebutcher7858
    @joebutcher7858 Před 6 lety +2

    I’m talking about where the turnbuckle bolt goes through the adjustment arm. That part of the adjustment arm doesn’t match the left side. The point where it bends is toward the inside on the right adjustment arm and it’s going towards the outside on the stationary arm on the left.

    • @TractorMonkeywithJL
      @TractorMonkeywithJL  Před 6 lety

      Ok, I think I know what you are referring to now. At 24:33 in the video I'm guessing. I went out and turned the bend 180 and reconnected. Everything seemed to operate the same with no binding. What small difference there is in the angle, I think is compensated for by the balls at both ends of the main arms. The only difference I could tell was a very slight re-adjusting of the arm for level.
