The Mac vs PC ad was actually executed properly. We all love the PC guy in the ad and being a PC user myself I find it funny and it doesn't make me feel bad or anything. The commercial had a sense of sweetness in it. But these Samsung ads are too much on the edgy side. They have gone way past the satire and are making people feel bad about their choices. They are just being a little disingenuous in the ads.
I grew up with the UK variant of Mac vs PC ads, and I loved them. Both sides of the coin could laugh at the ads and say 'yeah that's true'. It's what I loved.
I hear what you saying. But the game of advertising is a dirty one. Sharing my views on this advertisement, I thought it was hilarious like the "I'm a PC" add vacation in the day. Over the last few years people that purchase Apple products developed a "better than" mentality as if owning these Apple products make them better as a person (with it doesn't) the way I see it, Samsung is basically telling these smug Apple users "get over yourself" and yes, it's delivery was underhanded as far as comparing it's new devices to Apple's old one. But let's be perfectly honest here; how many cellphone consumers would actually know the difference or even care?

Yes and no, but I do think everyone is affected if big companies make decisions others will follow. I hate a notch: and hence I have one because basically all companies started doing the same as it is now "acceptable". The same goes for headphone jacks.
I do think both Apple and Samsung are good at ruining the market. Also their excessive pricing: you have cheaper alternatives of course, but even OnePlus increases its prices to be just cheaper than Samsung.
Or what about the bizarre cut Apple demands from apps in the App Store.
I don't hate Apple or Samsung users as such, but I do think they are very much anti-consumer as they have virtual monopolies, and even if you have another brand, it still affects you.

The problem is that some people forgot that apple used to make fun of their competitors. Steve Jobs used to make fun of Microsoft, and their commercials did too. Its just marketing, people shouldn't care about these thinks, and I almost never buy a phone because an ad says so. I always do my research about the product beforehand.
Mohammed Salman he stated in the video that apple made fun of other companies to and that apple has matured past that. They dont do that anymore.

Here in South East Asia we dont get to see that kind of advertisement. I was actually very suprised when i watch the Samsung mocking Apple's notch for their S9 commercials.
And after some time watching few commercials from Samsung i found out its the marketing team from Samsung USA is doing that. It is the same thing when they made a commercial for the water resistant for their phone and someone actually did tool pictures in sea and end up losing their phone and sued Samsung for that.
In not saying that Samsung marketing team from SEA is the best or something but they do their commercial with a bit of something like what Arun said. Just show their phone and what it is capable of,the features and pretend other brand doesnt exist.

Ong Jun Quan I disagree, I deal with apple users on a day to day basis. I have an apple phone. Apple imo is the far more arrogant company. I mean they sale and inferior product with an inferior operating system, that is designed around making a profit while not giving nearly as much for their money. Apple may be faster loading a game(which I donât play) but bounce between apps and doing productive things is a clear loss on apple, the keyboard is inefficient, calling people is inefficient, Google Assistant is far more powerful. The only thing apple has is iMessage beyond that... I donât see value. I have an iPhone 8+ I used it all year for a main driver, Iâm also using a Google Pixel XL... The pixel runs quicker and smoother. Multitasking makes everything better. So while you have a faster running phone when in app, moving between emails, texting, calling, instagram (I run accounts), iPhone just dies to fast and has to reload apps due to not enough RAM, the operating system is big and clunky....
My LG V30 also has better multi-tasking and a battery that lasts 36 hours. Because itâs better at multi-tasking you can do more faster on your phone, the processor isnât a big enough difference to process pics in Lightroom, even though itâs very powerful it doesnât really live up to it in day to day usage.
The Reality is Android is a better operating system and less clunky, because of that it runs much smoother. Even though the processor of iPhones is fantastic itâs bottlenecked in day to day usage by a worse antenna and lack of RAM and battery time. My iPhone 8 Plus takes too long to charge and dies too quickly, thatâs a big deal to me. Notes have been my best phones that last the longest... I havenât had one since the Note 5. I work in the industry and sorry but iPhone has too many inconveniences for me to think much of them with a horrible keyboard and very clunky disorganized complicated menu system.
Try out a Pixel, thatâs going to be the best easiest to use phone with likely the best Camera on the Market like last year, though the S9+ is amazing too...
Apple is completely arrogant to continue to give customers less and charge more more often. That is arrogant to slow down phones and think its ok.... To think you can force people to buy your phone on an annual basis... to charge 180 bucks for something as simple as screencasting... come on man... Apple is overrated, I tried it all year, their Processor is fantastic, Camera so-so imo compared to Samsung and Pixel, worse in video as well and LG even beats video, and their Camera is more useful with a wide angle lens...

Honestly im on a 6s and itâs still so good for a 5 year old phone then a s9 I have used is half the speed, glitchy, laggy, I wouldnât ever waste my money on that. Iâd buy a 4s before any Samsung phone.
@@Tom_Stevens617 yeah the battery is not amazing but it still runs really smoothly and itâs reliable. I had an a20 for a lot of this year and while the battery and charging speeds and the camera are quite a bit better it still runs much slower and it is laggy hence why I âdowngradedâ so much. Yeah I may have exaggerated a bit when i said 4s but Iâd definitely choose a 5s or se (2016). And it runs all the iOS 14 features perfectly and everything. Other than the battery and storage (which would be the case with any 16gb device) I do not have a problem. And of course I can see the 4.7â lcd itâs fine, itâs what I have been used to. And I donât even close my apps and it doesnât slow it down. I probably have at least 20-25 apps open right now and itâs perfect.

samsung most likely won't use a notch on their stuff, it's too much of a feather in apple's cap, also as pointed out in the video they have taken shots at apple poking fun at the notch, i'd hope they wouldn't stoop to that level of hypocrisy but who knows. they most likely are putting time and effort into developing a bezel free display and in the meantime will keep the top bezel, possibly removing the bottom bezel completely in the next generation or two

When he tries to portray the good things about Chinese, he specifies about the price point. And that is one thing Chinese brands are doing better. Not all are ready to afford s9 plus and iPhone x. That is the sole reason those chinese brands are being able to sell so many units. He just supports those. Also, There are lot of others in tech community who does that.

To be honest, the notch is the worst piece of innovation for a smartphone. When I first saw it, I cringed at the fact that the screen was somewhat cropped at the top. I guess that overtime as you use it, it becomes irrelevant to some extent however, it doesn't serve much purpose besides the Face ID. I cant believe that all the phone companies are following the trend.
Samsung is the sole company that still sticks to its design and concept and for that fact I believe they can ridicule the notch. The notch was created for Face ID, and Samsung has made a similar facial recognition system; although not as powerful as Face ID but without a notch themselves.
Phones should be versatile, however all the android companies are following Apple by taking away the headphone jack and implementing the notch which to some customers is a downgrade and it is such a shame.
Apples marketing is better of course hence there are more consumers but besides the processor and subjective nature of picture quality, Samsung phones have their advantages and they are just marketing to show their difference.

The notch isn't bad in all cases. The iPhone X just implements the notch in a bad way. The OnePlus 6 does a much better job at implementing the notch since the display next to the notch is ONLY used for notifications. The notch on the OnePlus never cuts through content (even when you fill to screen) and the display (measuring from below the notch) is as tall as the S9+. What I personally think the Galaxy needs that both OnePlus and Apple implemented well is navigation gestures and completely eliminating the on display navigation buttons.
