- Ami Ayalon, a former director of Israel’s security agency Shin Bet, said if he were a Palestinian living under Israeli occupation that he would “fight against Israel” in order to “achieve liberty” during an interview with ABC’s John Lyons for a news report that was aired on Monday.
He further added that in his view the only way Israelis would “have security” is when Palestinians “have hope”.

The odd difference with Palestine is the colonizing nation is seen as having a rightful claim to that same land.
When France began conquering and colonizing Algeria in the early 1800s, it placed a permanent French presence there. No one says France has a right to return to Algeria, even though ironically its hold over the country was longer than Israel’s in Palestine. No one justifies the settlement of Algeria because it’s clear when you look at the history that the sufferIng necessary for that was never justifiable, and it robbed another people of their self-determination. So, why does Israel get its claim recognized? I’m not advocating for its dissolution, but there is some cognitive dissonance there when we address Israeli settlement and colonization.
I guess colonization was very successful then because white people are almost everywhere in the world probably accept gaza.

I would say it would be 'peace under tension'. The best solution would be to make the holy land holy and allow all 3 religions to be everywhere in the combined country with separation of church and state. Sorry to be cynical but all those voices going against Israeli official policy are doing it for show. What did this guy DO when he had the power to do it? How many assassinations did he approve? How many Palestinian freedom fighters did he surveil and then co-ordinate bombing campaigns against them?
