Okay comment section; candy crafting doesn't generally require gloves unless you are taffy-pulling, rolling hard candy (which the gloves are mostly to prevent burning yourself), And handing out samples. It isn't unsanitary, they wash their hands, and they follow relevant safety procedures. They are not dealing with cold food, they are melting and mixing a thick oil-based substance which runs a risk of picking up moisture and spoiling if you wear gloves because it only takes a little water to ruin a whole batch of chocolate. Water, which gathers on plastic gloves. Just remember this is chocolate, not salad

@@iaintedgy1984 I’m being a little over dramatic but there is always a little bit of dry or dead skin when you move you hands or put your hands on something sticky the skin comes out. The difference is not noticeable on your hands because the pieces of dead skin are really small like dust.

Glorious because chocolate has a high oil content ( cocoa butter) and acidity that will degrade glove materials and change the flavor of the chocolate, if sweat or condensation gets into the chocolate even in tiny tiiiiiny amounts the chocolate will seize and be useless. Also chocolate has to be tempered and it is almost impossible for a chocolatier to feel if the temper is correct through gloves. There is such a thing as safe gloveless food handling, you have to be certified and just because someone put on gloves you can't assume that they have clean hands, haven't sneezed, have clean gloves....

i have. i worked at a pizza place and all the stuff touched without gloves got heated in the oven which kills all the germs. all pizza, bread and wings. For salads they wore gloves because obviously you don't heat salads. but hey even if his hands were just washed liked he was about to do brain surgery his bracelet is filthy....filthy filthy filthy. @Insider please inform the gentleman in the video with said filthy bracelet to remove it during work because its gross.

Do you know gold spray where they mix 24 karat gold dust/powder and dissolve with water? If they use the similar method,than its edible. There are many ways though but I only use these for my desserts/pastries
