  • Located on Lake Champlain this beautiful 14 mile out and back bicycle trail is not to be missed. The trail is an easy ride with a mixture of paved and gravel terrain. Twelve miles into the ride is the "Local Motion Ferry" that takes you to Grand Isle. Once on the island you will find paved streets with a number of restaurants. A great day trip to remember.

      @@patstillriding1435 Hi Pat, finished the ride a few days ago. It was awesome. However, I wouldn't recommend anyone follow the East Coast Greenway trail through GA & SC. The roads are dangerous, many without any shoulder coupled with 60-70 mph traffic. Otherwise it was great. I started editing videos and will publish the first of many in about a week. Thanks

    I never got to take the ferry over, they were doing construction. It was closed off, I snuck around. 😈. I hope to get there this year. Such a beautiful ride.

      It's a beautiful ride. Make sure you check their website before you go. I recently heard the trail is closed until Memorial day 2021. Covid caused the closure.

    I'll turn 75 this year and been riding bikes regularly for the 30 yrs or so, but my preference is mountain biking. No cars to run me over and many local trails to ride. Have you given dirt riding a try?

      @steveretiredandcycling  Před rokem

      Hi Roger, just started riding dirt with my new Priority 600X. Lots of fun and safer, Thanks Steve

      @@steveretiredandcycling Well, gravel roads is one way to ride dirt, but I was talking about mountain bike trails, where no cars/trucks are allowed (or would fit!), but dirt roads are a start. Here in Michigan we have man-made dirt trails as well as natural singletrack. The man-made trails tend to be "flow trails", where the climbing is less severe and the speeds are high - lots of fun!

    They finished fixing the causeway last summer. Hopefully in the Spring things will have changed. It's a beautiful day trip for sure. What bike do you ride on your tours? From Fairfield Vt. Take care, Al

      Hi Al, I ride a Jamis Renegade Elite. It's great for light bikepacking. I will review it in an upcoming video (about 2 weeks from now). Love the Island Line trail. You also have other awesome trails in your area that I must ride next summer. Thanks again and all the best, Steve

    Hi Steve, great video and beautiful trail! I just recently started cycling and have gotten totally addicted to it and obsessed with finding beautiful places to ride! This trail looks amazing and I really want to try it! I just bought a new road bike and it has relatively narrow road tires (700c x 25mm) I was just wondering if the gravel part of the trail is rideable and enjoyable on these kind of narrow road tires. Thanks!!!
