I been there. Since my blood is o negative. I am asked to give when ever i can. Only problem is when i do give blood i get light head. And then i start to throw up. I only give blood 3 times.
The reason why they gave you juice is because it since your blood was being taken out something must’ve gone wrong and they must’ve accidentally did something which made your blood sugar go low. I’m a type one diabetic that happens to me all the time I don’t know why but juice is the only thing they’ll basically bring it up! 😂
Applejuice has sugars that are so called quik carbs. They skyrocket your blood sugar levels. They'll eventually also crash pretty bad if nothing else is ingested, but for first aid it's effective.
What was wrong was letting her donate like she was getting a haircut. If you just enter the donation center, and not getting tested and selected is stupid. Out of many people who show up to donate blood only a handful should, and women and skinny people rarely make the cut. I donate blood on a regular basis 2-3 times a year (maximum allowed in my country). I am on the larger side, a regular that they know at the center, and they still would ask me all the questions and do tests before and after I donate. Every time my blood sugar is low so I have to eat something right before donating, and even then they might send me to eat some cookies and drink some juice. I weigh about 96 kg or about 220 lbs at about 5'10-5'11, according to BMI am overweight and almost obese (BMI is not very accurate, but is widely used), and even I have trouble donating. Now imagine a person 100 pounds, they can't donate blood, they are very likely underweight and have less then 10 lbs of blood themselves,
That happened to me january 2nd this year but for a blood test. I couldn't move my arm properly for over two weeks and my entire elbow got a weird brown/gray colour for a huge bruise.

Here's a *fun* story. I once was having an allergic reaction to tree nuts, since I have those, and while I was silently dying severely the nurse was just sticking the needle at random places in my arm to find my veins. And I don't even have small veins! Also, for some reason she wasn't using an EpiPen, which is a LOT easier to use, because you just have to stick it in your thigh. I was also about 7 years old at this time.

The ambulance people got yelled at. It was great.
Had something like that happen to me as well, after the blood stopped flowing they just started wiggling it around and eventually they found a new spot that worked but ugh that was unpleasant. Had a large bruise on my arm
I’ve never been afraid of needles since I was a little kid I would gladly offer my arm up to the doctor to give me an injection. I also did some piercings and tattoos on myself at home with a pin and used to push a needle in to my skin trying to draw blood for my microscope. I’m a pretty weird person but I’ve always wanted to do a blood drive. I’m going to be 16 the next time my school‘s blood drive comes around so I’ll be able to finally donate. Hopefully my lack of fear for needles could really help someone.
same here lol i have hereditary spherocytosis, so pretty much the same thing almost and the worst part is WE WANT TO DONATE BLOOD BECAUSE WE KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE TO FEEL LIKE CRAP AND WE DON'T WANT OTHERS TO FEEL THAT WAY but we can't because our blood cells suck xD
Nettleleap Productions oh man that's the worst and my school is yelling at me and like no you don't understand if I give blood I'll end up needing blood and it'll be counterproductive
This story kinda reminds me of when i had to draw blood but it was supposed 1 needle not 3 on the first one not enough blood came out so they found a different vain and did it again but no blood came out and then they told me to drink some water and walk around waving my arms to get my blood flowing and then after that they used a butterfly needle and a lot of blood came flowing out my arm started feeling pain for the next 3 hours
I know your struggle when it comes to having small veins. When giving blood samples, nurses have always had a hard time getting the needle in there. I remember one time, I was like between 8 and 10 years old, they just kept stabbing me with that needle. I also tried to keep my composure, by that I mean not cry. But that just resulted in hyperventilating and dry heaving, since I wasn’t allowed to drink or eat before hand. My mom stopped it there. Now we go to the hospital whenever I need to give a blood sample and ask for a specialist. I swear that woman is a legend, she just taps my arm a little, sticks the needle in, and BOOM blood starts flowing.
although i’ve grown out of my irrational fear of needles, i’m still anxious getting blood tests and having received one today, i nearly fainted once the procedure had ended from combined relief and dizziness. im fine now no worries
E doge 0978 omg when I was in the hospital I had to get an iv and the stupid nurse is like oh ya I know what I’m doing I was screaming for half an hour and blood was everywhere And my arms and hands are forever scared idiots
I donate plasma and I have small veins. Moving it inside your arm as they try to adjust it SUCKS. But if they did it THAT badly, I would FREAK out. I actually do have a story to share (⚠️BLOOD WARNING!!!!⚠️) I was donating plasma once and they brought over a new girl. They were watching to make sure she didn't hurt me, and they had me ready to donate. I had a cuff around my arm to help regulate blood pressure. The girl pushes in the needle [totally painless so she did good] but then it wasn't getting good blood flow so she tried to adjust it. She pulled it out a bit and apparently doing that with the cuff around my arm is not a good idea because next thing I know, blood shoots up from my arm and hits her. Thankfully she was wearing a face shield. In good news, I didn't actually lose a lot of blood and besides some soreness later, I was totally fine and even able to donate again the same week :)
Don't worry I know how that feels like I have small veins too I remember that whenever I go to give Blood samples you know for doctors to check they always do this until someone who's actually experienced comes and help it hurts so bad sometimes
Flafoo qu yeah it's depressing but at the same time I feel bad for others that I can't give blood too but I'm also terrified of needles (even though I have to get blood drawn every month 😂)
Devil Darlin' I have a fear of needles. And im not a vampire... Even though I hiss, and I like the taste of blood, and the sun gives me headaches, and I have very sharp teeth... Don't kill me
The same thing happened to me! I was already stressed as hell cause I’m afraid of needles, and the nurse just wiggled it around under my skin until I began to openly sob.
Grand Admiral Thrawn If you speak finnish. Can you tell me what actually is mad cow disease? But if you don't, can you still tell me what actually is that? Never heard about it, and i'm interested to know!
Henrik Sundqvist I'm sorry, I do not know Finnish. But mad cow disease was a recent epidemic spanning through 1986 to 2001, It was a virus called Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease(CJD) it effects cattle's spines and brains and it is usually fatal for cattle. however if the meat from around the infected area is eaten then humans can contract it, It's nearly impossible to detect in early stages because it effects the nerves but it is treatable. however, as an American who was in Europe during the epidemic I am considered as "high risk" and it's possible I have vCJD, the human version of the disease. There are quite a few Americans like myself that can't donate blood because of this.
Grand Admiral Thrawn Wow! Very interesting and terrifying disease! Thank you for explaining me what it is, i was very curious because the name of it. Weird i haven't heard about it. But thank you!

I’m a pretty weird person but I’ve always wanted to do a blood drive. I’m going to be 16 the next time my school‘s blood drive comes around so I’ll be able to finally donate. Hopefully my lack of fear for needles could really help someone.
I want to donate blood so I can be a hero™ but I have iron anaemia and I'll pass out and give people unhealthy blood
same here lol
i have hereditary spherocytosis, so pretty much the same thing almost
and the worst part is WE WANT TO DONATE BLOOD BECAUSE WE KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE TO FEEL LIKE CRAP AND WE DON'T WANT OTHERS TO FEEL THAT WAY
but we can't because our blood cells suck xD
*meanwhile i refuse to donate blood because i don't like needles*
Nettleleap Productions oh man that's the worst and my school is yelling at me and like no you don't understand if I give blood I'll end up needing blood and it'll be counterproductive
I'm also anemic
"you know when you get a sharp pain in your abdomen and you think THIS IS IT"😂

Me
Yeah, I hate that.
"Since I had nothing else going on I thought I'd give it a SHOT." Get it?! SHOT! That was a good one ngl.

Everytime when I get a needle in my arm I shake so much and Start getting dizzy

Puro [changed] um no... ;)
Puro [changed] that's a reasonable response, I mean, DO YOUR JOB RIGHT PEOPLE! Your probably not supposed to do that as a nurse.
Puro [changed] well not really if you didn't kill her

I know it’s an animation but when I saw the nurse moving the needle around, I felt the pain ;-;
I donate plasma and I have small veins. Moving it inside your arm as they try to adjust it SUCKS. But if they did it THAT badly, I would FREAK out.
I actually do have a story to share (⚠️BLOOD WARNING!!!!⚠️)
I was donating plasma once and they brought over a new girl.
Pretty bad nurse there
True.
Nahh
TomassWeeaboo III
She could have collapsed her vein or struck a nerve with the needle... still not a bad nurse?
ikr
Dont be ashamed of having to use a butterfly needle. Its more commonly used than what you may think, and not just on kids
they use it on kittens. (watch kitten lady)
Everybody 48AJ I've seen kitten lady 🙋
Watch my video right now and comment
Wow yea, i love kittenlady :D
Used *ON* kids?!?!? XD
Don't worry I know how that feels like I have small veins too I remember that whenever I go to give Blood samples you know for doctors to check they always do this until someone who's actually experienced comes and help it hurts so bad sometimes

Cries because I can't donate blood due to my body causing my blood to constantly be deficient of certain things :'(
I need to donate blood a lot, because my body retains to much iron (hemochromatosis runs in the family)
cozy girl me neither
CHERRY BOMBZ :(
Flafoo qu yeah it's depressing but at the same time I feel bad for others that I can't give blood too but I'm also terrified of needles (even though I have to get blood drawn every month 😂)
Mystical Unicorn
Same.
The last time I got my blood tested “I need my blood tested” there was no blood, they couldn’t find a vain. :(
i don't know what my blood type is
I'm glad I don't have too many problems when donating blood, although the nurses sometimes have trouble finding my veins.
Donate blood?
And give food to the vampires that stalk me in the night?! Don't be ridiculous!
Devil Darlin' hey
Didn't I see you get wrecked by a... thing with a cup for a head
Devil Darlin' I have a fear of needles.

The same thing happened to me! I was already stressed as hell cause I’m afraid of needles, and the nurse just wiggled it around under my skin until I began to openly sob.
I was in Europe during the mad cow disease, can't donate blood myself.
I wish I could.
Grand Admiral Thrawn
If you speak finnish.
Grand Admiral Thrawn
Wow! Very interesting and terrifying disease! Thank you for explaining me what it is, i was very curious because the name of it. Weird i haven't heard about it.
But thank you!
