As Shgurr said, DISCLAIMER!!! DONT PLAY THIS GAME! I played bike tag once, right before a trip. I was with three friends. When I went around a corner to get someone, I hit a tiny cylinder post, and then I flung over my bike handles, scraping all of my skin right off knee. Good times.

I’m glad this video is back!
My brothers and friends and I also invented bike tag but we played on a regular basis. There was a park nearby with concrete walkways going all around it with many intersections to the paths so it was the perfect place to play. We always realized the danger and were all pretty good on our bikes and, well, somehow we managed to generally avoid getting hurt... no serious injuries... for us anyway.
Sometimes other kids we didn't know would ask to join and some of them were not that skilled on a bike so we would catch them really easily, then they'd do something reckless in hopes of finally avoiding getting caught and often get hurt. Eventually one of the kids we didn't know told their parents they got hurt and it got back to our parents so we were told to stop playing that game... so we stopped playing it with kids we didn't know. We also played other variants like "cops" where we were only allowed to chase and tag someone once they started riding fast and another version where the caught person joins the tagger... that was the most dangerous way to play.
We were crazy kids though, we played airsoft gun tag without goggles, we just said no shooting above the shoulders.

I totally resonated with your basketball story. That's what happened to me with football. Nobody could stop by touchdowns so I never understood why I should pass it. Stupid coaches never wanted to explain it.

Dude, my class had the most *intense* games of knockout (we called it lightning) ever. During recess, we would all get to courts and just duke it out. We even had nicknames for each other that we would only use in-game. Ah, the good ol days.

The bike tags reminded me of a story my mom told me about her two brothers.
They were playing “throw rocks at each other and try to get them as close as possible without hitting the other person.” At the bus stop. Needless to say, one of them did not make it to school that day he got hit in the noggin and I think had to get stitches.

the first half of the video is very similar to my experiences with sports
I had similar experiences but one I remember the most was when a older kid (like grade 9 when I was in grade 3) booted a basketball higher than the gym roof at the outside court and the ball went higher than I could see but I assumed it was going on the roof, at least I assumed that for about 15 seconds before the ball hit me on the top of the head, knocking me down and smashing my face on the concrete

Once i hurt my finger really badly while playing knockout in elementary school. It was kind of like stubbing your toe, but it’s your hand, and it hurts way more. Well, this happened and the coach kept on screaming at me to shoot the ball, and when the kid next to me got the ball in the hoop he just screamed “OUT” while i was on the verge of tears because my hand was in pain. Well flash forward to middle school in 5th or 6th grade (the fifth graders are in the middle school building for some reason) and we had free time so i was playing a bit of basketball with my friends. Well, the same injury happened again and instead of telling the coaches (even though they were different coaches from last time) i just rubbed it off. My finger turned purple. It recently happened AGAIN and ANOTHER coach told me to “just move it” which kinda helped but it still hurt for a while.

Ah yes... Another ball magnet... I feel your pain. Elementary through Middle school was torture. My school nurse wasn't as suspicious or mad about it as I was a teacher's kid, but it became so common that it became a running joke between me, my mom, the PE teacher, and the Nurse.
I stuck to monkey bars. It was far FAR away from the black top so no face pummeling there.
making games is a lot of trouble. me and my 2 brothers made a game where you put a mattress vertically stood up behind a couch against the wall so as to keep it in place, you flop the mattress over the couch and one person lays under it. one person gets on the fold of the mattress and the other uses their feet to hold them up. we have beanbags at the end, and the person on top has to try and get off the mattress and fall onto the beanbags.
long story short, my little brother missed the beanbags
