I would not but Toney. The man does not know what the word "loyalty" means. The way he be talking about wanting to leave Brentford, twerking for any big club, are all Red flags. I’m personally a bit relieved we aren’t going for Toney - it seems like we’ve gone away from him in a lot of reports (some even saying we aren’t targeting Toney anymore). I think he’s now enough of an upgrade over Jesus/Havertz, and he doesn’t really give us another profile. He’s also not got the right attitude, like I really didn’t rate his interview where he was saying he wanted to leave Brentford to a big club and his behaviour on the pitch leaves stuff to be desired. He’s a great player but I think for Arsenal he doesn’t make sense, so good to see we aren’t going for him anymore. That being said if Arteta/Edu did go for him, considering how well they’ve done in the market, I’d totally trust them on that and I think he would do well at United.

I think Toney has an attitude problem. I think Arteta has seen a bit of that in him recently and it has put him off, Toney doesn’t fit in the Arsenal dressing room, not good for team unity.

Being an Arsenal fan, I’d prefer Toney. Mainly because I think his hold up play is better as is his link up play. Yes Viktor is a good striker and he knows where the goal is, but I think he’s too one footed and doesn’t have the experience of being a prem player like Toney has.
The fact that Sporting paid as much as 21 mil for Gyokeres from the Championship is the most impressive fact about him. The Portuguese Clubs have a proven trackrecord of finding hidden gems for cheap ....so 21 mils is an astronomical transfer fee for any player in their League.

@Qlicky yes that the most recent big purchases (within 4-5 seasons), because their TV deal has gone up and they've beniftef from the influx of money into Europe's which filters through purchases. u'll notice that 15-20m is very standard for them these days. u'll also notice on that list how many of those players circa 20m are unremarkable. I bet u've never even heard of imbula and carmo outside fifa or football manager, perhaps. there's nothing about 21m that's eye raising for that league and hasn't been for at least half a decade.

Terry I know you touched briefly on the diaz situation in liverpool and his leaks to play in spain. I think the sole reason behind it is because its easier for his parents to stay longer periods of time since the incident happen to his dad in Colombia. It makes sense for him to do whats best for his family and probably easier for his dad to the obtain the paper work to stay there
Gyokers im sceptical about a guy having his break out season at 25 & in Portugal,having said that i dont like toney either. Isak would be my preference as him & oddegard had great chemistry at sociedad but we already have 1 striker thats never fit do we need another.
I put weight in the reports saying Arsenal moved on from Toney because he doesn’t have the right personality to fit this side. They think he’d clash with the team & Arteta given his history of betting and making airs about wanting to be at Arsenal and trash talking Brentford. Many of those things indicate he wouldn’t thrive in Mikel’s non-negotiables. So Arsenal seem poised to look elsewhere which feels right. Can get better potential for less or similar money and someone who fits the profile of the team more.

@@TheFootballTerrace I am Swedish and the difference between Isak and Gyokeres is enormous. Isak is faster, stronger, more technically gifted and just as good finisher. Playing in a team like arsenal you will probably be up against low blocks every other game. Isak are much better suited for that type of football. Gyokeres is a powerforward (Haaland style, not comparing there quality).
