Agreed

Miss both these guys, lots.
as ever beautiful words from Peter about a wonderful man.
Great men
As always. Excellent.
2 legends :)
bill branch played with ben hogan in the open qualifying. he said that when they set off, for the first few holes, he thought he was as long as hogan off the tee, but then they came to a long hole. and, bill was completely swamped out by the spectators who turned out in their droves to watch hogan play. when bill died, in the early eighties, hogan found out and wrote a letter of condolence to his old club.
I once walked into a clubhouse in Egypt and to my surprise there was John Jacobs he must have been 90 I recognized him but didn't speak to him I though I would make a fool of myself, he knew golf inside out RIP
This is the only game where such people can be found.
A very nice chap John Jacobs . I repaired some windows for him before i knew who he was .
A true gentleman.
Doctor golf is the name I always remember for the great mr Jacob’s ⛳️👍
Splendid!
Peter Allis was a treasure.
Wonderful .
Vale a saint of our simple but frustrating game played called golf ❤️🙏
This man is golf,JJ was the game's gentleman.
Well said Peter, excellent piece. By the way, why on earth have you not been knighted? If they offer it now, tell em' to shove it!😉
A couple of my sporting heroes glide before me down the rivers of my time in life. In the next lifetime I hope to meet up for a lesson with John. He will probably say, hit me a few , to which I would probably reply, o.k. as long as your next sentence isn't, have you got a set of darts !!!!!
The world would be a far better place if you could take a degree in common sense.
Alliss in Wonderland again,'we' replacing 'he' (John Jacobs) too frequently for my taste,JJ was a motivator and brilliant teacher,PA might have hitched his wagon to the JJ team at some point but I dislike how the conversation inevitably returns to himself.
