When television had superstars, and not reality stars, oh I miss them days.

Jacklin's swing was better than ever, so smooth, such a still head. But his PUTTING - Oh God!

Absolutely right Neil,Burt Lancaster was one of the greatest when there were real stars in Hollywood, today's crew are not fit to clean the kilties on his golf shoes!
First time I've seen this,in '77 it was HM Queen's Jubilee and I was a 25 year old jack the lad working in London!

If tour golf was played with similar clubs now I’d watch it more often,at the very least for the tour circuit imo they need to reduce the MOI on all woods. That last hole was a case in point, todays tour pros would simply boom a driver not worrying so much on hitting the sweet spot & have little more than a wedge to the green. Tour golf for me,isn’t rewarding the best ball strikers nowadays. Loved watching pro/celebrity golf as a teenager in the 70’s & 80’s. Shame they can’t bring it back in some form

Tony & Johnny popping 1-irons w/ basic Victory grips. The majority of today's pro's don't carry anything less than a 4-iron. Burt was 64 at the time
but still had a few gems left in his career, including Atlantic City, Local Hero and Field of Dreams.

Thanks for the comments on these uploads, sadly
I have no more. They were shown on ESPN classic quite a while ago and these were the only ones they showed. Would be great to see all the episodes one day.

Any programme associated with celebrity these days we have some loser from Hollyoaks. Back in the 70s they had Burt Lancaster...
