How to setup Display Scaling, works with all games [AMD/Nvidia]

- This is updated version of my previous display scaling video.
Hopefully this video is more helpful then the last one. I tried to explain everything so everybody can understand.
Please listen carefully to what I'm saying, I'm not going to respond to comments like "You just bricked my 60hz monitor" etc. I explained every way of troubleshooting and reverting changes.

thank you man, thats the only thing that worked for me to play with 100% digital vibrance and max game color in AOC Hero 144hz. The color of the crosshair was strange, now its perfect.

I need some help, when im trying to apply my new resolution and hz my asus monitor goes black then says out of range the goes back on and then my resolution and hz are resetting them selfs to the default ones ????

So I followed this as well as I thought I could but when it comes time to switch the Nvidia control panel to display scaling the option doesn’t show up anymore and I have to reset the entire process. Any tips?

Hey, on my monitor when I delete "TV Resolutions" from the extension block, the option to display scale in the nvidia cp goes away, what should I do. Also I have an unrelated question: is there a time you should use integer scaling?

Is there a way to keep desktop native resolution and only the game stretched? It only shows me 1920x1080 60hz not 240hz for desktop

i have a problem once i press the restart 64 my monitor flicker a lil bit it kinda look worked but when i try to change my resolution it doesnt show the resolution that im adding in the cru

I tried following your steps and when completed, it narrows my screen I change it on my monitor settings to Full screen which makes it full screen but then all desktop icons disappear

hey when i open apex i see the game centered on my screen which means it is still GPU scaling as you said.. even though i turned it off. I am using the same custom res as you (1536x960). How do i fix this issue? i did everything you said and checked every detail
I have a secondary monitor plugged with and hdmi and it supports display scaling on nvidia but my main monitor which is plugged with a diplay port cable does not support display scaling only the gpu one. i pointed out the cables because I do not know what is the root of the problem and maybe that is, not sure. Please, help :)

i have a ROG Strix G7 RTX3070 with a AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX with Radeon Graphics I've been trying to get a custom res to work and nothing have worked for me there aren't even a option on the amd software for custom resolution or on the nvidia control panel CRU just give me a black screen after flackery for a bit.
a while ago i saw a video where they were able to change the resolution of a application my adding a line of code to the exe but i cant fine that, does anyone have a clue regarding that?

I did everything correct but I have black bars on the side when I try to use custom resolution on valorsnt and it only scales when I use windowed full is their anyway I can get this to scale correctly in fullscreen and I have a bent monitor with dyac off

i swiched from 1030 to 1050ti and now Nvidia dosen't show display scalling, already tryed everything, unistalled driver with DDU in safeboot, reseted all resolutions, changing 3d settings in NCP and still nothing...
Is this possible with gtx 750Ti which only has DVI port? I tried this method but when I put it on no scaling in nvidia control panels it centers the display so I got black bars all around my monitor screen

Why not use the Adrenaline software for the same job? And also what timing standard should I choose in Adrenaline, if I decide not to use this software?
my display scaling only works in windowed fullscreen and i have to apply it in game, but when i click fullscreen it 1920x1080 and what i have heard that fulscreen gives u more fps than windowed fullscreen
on black ops 2 display scaling doesnt work (atleast for me) and it display the game in the center as you said, in this case should i do something to fix that or just put aspect ratio in the adrenaline software and play with gpu scaling just for certain games?

Please help I used the cru app but all it did is turn my screen black I restarted I went in with safe mode and deleted cru but my screen is still black on normal mode please inform me if there is any solutions
I did all the steps but unfortunately , i only have GPU Scaling in nividia couldn’t find a way to force it to display scaling
I've done this with a display that has G-Sync. I turned it off anyways for CSGO but it sounded like it couldn't be done. I actually got it to automatically switch the resolution when I start the game and still display scale.
Display is 240Hz ASUS VG259QM
It actually overclocks to 280Hz but yeah it's really 240Hz imo

Do we have to set the desktop resolution to a custom resolution when entering the game? Or should it remain 1920x1080 144?

I have the problem that my Elgato Capture Card no longer transmits a picture when merging my gaming monitor because the card takes over the 240Hz from the Zowie monitor! I can only play borderless not full screen! can I also do this with the program? thank you very much.
bro tysm i recently got the XL2546K and tried to display scale with Fr33thys method and it didnt work and sometimes id did but it felt unsmooth this method works and it feels amazing man i was worried my monitor was broken or something when it wasnt working with Fr33thys method but this works great tysm
Yea I showed Fr33thy's whole community how to do Display scaling. And after some rumors spread i got labeled as an "ISO Seller" and they banned me from everywhere without even listening to my story. Then he deleted all the videos we did together lol. Thankfully i have old Display Scaling video that shows the short part of me explaining him how to do it on his own channel. I thought Fr33thy generally had a good community because of his branding and stuff. Later i found out what type of person he is and I'm glad im no longer part of that community. As for the monitor, im glad everything is working fine, Xl2546K has to be the best in terms of compatibility for Display Scaling. Go frag out and enjoy :D
@@KajzerD thanks man and sad to hear about your conflict with fr33thy and yea I got the scaling to work but the monitor now is broken the top screen stutters alot and idk what todo, do you have discord so I could maybe show you since you know alot a about monitors cause otherwise I'll have to send this one back idk what todo

for 75 hz monitors, when you add resolutions in standard resolutions, add 60 hz and 75 hz of that resolution for it to actually fully display scale. for example you want to add 1440 x 1080 to standard resolution, you need to add 1440 x 1080 75hz and 1440 x 1080 60hz. if you only add 75 hz res on standard, in valorant it will look like 30 fps, its very choppy, if you only add 60 hz it will show black bars in valorant, if you add both 75hz and 60hz resolution, it will be display scaled, stretched and its 75hz and very smooth
edit: you could also place the 60hz and 75hz stretch rez on the data block and make the timings exact reduced

Hey dude, whenever i create a custom resolution for 1280x960 at 144hz i get out of range in csgo, if i create 1280x960 at 60hz it works fine and csgo runs at 144hz (i dont have 1280x960 as default, always have to create it) benqxl2411z and rx580... any clue?

i tried it out with native resolution 1920x1080 and it makes everything a little blurry with jagged lines around my app icons. anyone know how to fix this?
BTW I find this only works if I have a certain number of resolutions added, I don't know the number but when I tried to do this with one resolution on one refresh rate, GPU scaling would be forced, so make sure to fill up your detailed resolutions block

ive done this a few times to get stretched res at 1440p and its been a huge help but sometimes after a restart, the settings will reset and ill have to do it all over again. is there anything i can do?
Not gonna lie it could be the drivers causing a bug. You can save a CRU preset with the export button, that way once pc turns on you can just import settings and restart drivers
hi man, i ran the reset all.exe bc i found the custom resolution blurry and i tried to change to stretch resolution and i had black bars now, it wasn't like this before i tried cru
hey, great video, the resolutions work on display scaling now, but its extremely blurry even with sharpening. Can anyone help me fix this. I have the Zowie BenQ 2456k and I have tried turning dyac and ama off.
