- Welcome to Attorney Ugo Lord's deep dive into his top 10 most controversial videos in 2023 and what we can learn from them in 2024! Ugo uses this long-form format to provide a more detailed explanation of his most viral videos from last year and the controversial laws that guided his rulings.
This video is the deep dive you've all been waiting for! Be sure to watch his top 10 most viral and controversial videos of the year!
I’m going to join the chorus and say I really enjoyed the long form content. Your shorts are fun, but the longer discussion of the nuance of law was very attention getting. Hope to see more of this.
Thank you so much for your kind words! This is very encouraging, and I look forward to doing more longform videos for all of you!
I second!
@@UgoLord
The deeper explanation does go further. More please.
@@UgoLordI always watched your shorts, and thought that’s all you provided, so I unfortunately never subscribed, but I just watched this whole video and you have earned a sub, I enjoy long form content like this and you are extremely entertaining while being informative. Thank you!
While that's true, it's the shorts that are making their way through the algorithm. Definitely needs to keep doing shorts until his long form vids get more views and a more stable viewership
Ugo Lord long form content? YES PLEASE
Haha I’m glad you like it! I hesitated for a while but I saw so many comments of people asking for longer explanations so here it is! If you continue to like them, I will continue to make them!
@@UgoLordmany of me and my friends tune in and always are hoping for long form content
@@UgoLord Yes please, Mr. Lord.
@@UgoLordthe longer form explanations are great, you certainly do make what would normally be boring laws interesting. It's no surprise you haven't lost a single case yet, the juries on your cases are probably delighted to serve jury duty
@@MoominBoominmy thanks to you and your amazing friends!
50% lawyer, 50% comedian, 100% awesome. Loving the longform videos! Unlike other lawyers, you manage to keep my attention for the whole video, which is hard to do because I have ADHD. Keep doing the excellent work you do!!!
100% lawyer, 50% comedian, 100% awesome. :)
The court case in McKinney is an interesting one. I have been following it since I grew up in that town. It is an issue that needs to be addressed. What does not seem to get discussed is that the home owner is stuck holding the bag completely. Not only are the police not liable, but most home owners insurance will not cover the damage either. That poor lady was not even in the state when the damage happened and she got denied by both the city and her insurance. $60K+ in damages and all she got was a apology.
I would agree that insurance should be able to deny a claim if you are the cause of situation. IE you lock your self in your house and cause a stand off. But if you are not the cause of the law enforcement contact then insurance should not be able to deny the claim.
If we are going to allow our government to continue with this protection, the least that needs to be done is to prevent a company you pay to protect you from loss due to unforeseen events from being able to wiggle out as well.
To be clear, I believe that the government should be liable, but that is always going to be a long shot.
I live not to far from McKinney I live not to far from Buckner station off of Jim Miller Rd .
Am I in the 5th element?
Something has to give. Either insurance companies should be forced to compensate victims of police property damage or the city should cough up the cash. You shouldn't be able to leave someone in a shelter crisis.
The lack of compensation for damages done by the police to a persons property (as long as they are not the reason the police are there) is concerning.
Indeed. I am responsible for any mistake I make at work. I pay for insurance in case I do. Why should police be any different?
END QUALIFIED IMMUNITY!
@@humbleevidenceaccepter7712 I dont think ending it is the soloution although it needs to be changed what it should be is police are not legaly liable (so the cant be charged) but are expected to reimburse someone who is affected via insurance using the cheapest posible methods to restore it to the same condition.
they should make police departments carry insurance for damage they cause on duty
@@humbleevidenceaccepter7712 hold on YOU pay for insurance? does your workplace not have Workers comp, unless you are your own boss.
@humbleevidenceaccepter7712 Because police run head first into danger. It's not the same as you messing up at work because A) they aren't messing up and B) it's your responsibility to do what you do at your work. The cops run head first into danger so naturally, they should get more rights that any average person doesn't. It makes sense. Whether or not it should be pushed to this extreme is debatable but the idea is sound
Regarding No10, everyone was in the right except for the motorbike. The dog was walking correctly on the zebra crossing and the red car stopped to politely let it cross. The motorbike was being stubborn and obstreperous. He also believed that he could fly.
1:35 You are hilarious! 😂 love this comment! You’re absolutely right 😉
I find it weird that we didn't mention that he was also switching lanes with no signal at the same time? You required to make sure the pathway is clear when switching lanes....
@@c911darkwolf
So true, I didn't even notice that.
I also found it curious that Ugo went on about whether or not the car could "legally" stop for the dog. Sure that's an interesting exploration but it's completely irrelevant to who was at fault for the bike. As long as he didn't stop in a way that could be seen as a "brake check" it's entirely the bikes responsibility to stop in time. And he clearly had more than enough time to do that.
@@Cdaragorn Well human laws prioritize human life over animal lives.
The "10 business days to stop" comment made me laugh so hard I love humor like this in your videos and YES more long-form content!!
That would be funny if he said that in court to the Judge. That motorcycle driver had plenty of time, unless his brakes were broken.
This was a super lunch treat. Thank you for posting and keep em coming. 👍👍
When UGO LORD talks…
I Listen…
You’re amazing!!
@@UgoLord hi
So are you, @@UgoLord
shorts are full of time wasters, i’m so grateful to be following someone who provides not only entertainment but a genuine detailed education on how lawyers look at cases. i’d love to see more long form from you, how about a video with advice for how to handle police interactions? i feel like a lot of people dont have a good understanding of how to keep yourself safe while not resisting.
First of all, thank you so much for your kind words! Secondly, this is an excellent idea… I’m on it!

61-8-303. Speed restrictions, under section 2, drivers in Montana can drive 10 miles over the speed limit to overtake another vehicle.

@@UgoLord The more police interaction related videos the better - exposing and guidance. Spreading the word to get people to either not over-escalate the situations, but also exposing the bad apples that ruin the image of police departments.
First time coming across an actual video rather than just one of your shorts, and I really prefer this! I appreciate getting into a more detailed account of your assessment.
Also, it was great to hear that you have been so successful in your career! Congratulations and keep up the great work. Best of luck to you!
Big fan of your shorts, but this slower paced video with more context was wonderful!
More please!
You are the most entertaining and most likeable lawyer I have ever seen. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so very much my friend!
Yes! Please do long form content. Interviews, explanations; I don't care. I'll subscribe. I just LOVE your personality and delivery!! You're very informative, educational, and entertaining. I appreciate your content and hard work. Thank you for educating us mere mortals.
You made my day!! Thank you!!!! 💕🥰
You made my life!@@UgoLord
Great video. Look forward to more long form content.
Love the longer video with more in-depth explanations. You still managed to keep it entertaining while being informative. I hope we see more!
The one that bugs me is mislabeling legal terms. People confuse theft (stealing with the intent to deprive the owner of the property, either permanently or temporarily) with burglary (entering a building, vehicle, etc with the intent to commit larceny or any felony ) and robbery (theft by force or fear).
I shall do a long form on this!
For #2 I think you could argue that he threw the box in self defense since she started spraying an unknown substance on him as retaliation. Although it was probably water, in the heat of the moment he might not be able to quickly determine that and realize that she wasn’t a considerable threat.
I'd 100% say someone spraying you with anything is equivalent force to tossing a hand-szied package at them xD
I absolutely agree with you! Whether it’s self-defense or defense of property, both would be good viable defenses to any claim of battery. Well done, my friend!
In my mind, i've heared of so many scary storys and news about someone throwing acid on someones face. That is what i would've feared if someone sprayed me with unknown liquid. Considering she sounds manic and insane to some degree. I do not know what is in that bottle, so i would most likely use a kick or a punch in that situation. But that's just me and if i got sentenced to something for it, well that is what it is.@@UgoLord
as for #7, having chronic tinnitus/sensitivity to loud noises in my right ear, the CZcamsr would have woken up in the back of an ambulance after receiving a 'Mike Tyson' uppercut..
Hard to post videos with a busted jaw & missing teeth !
I so think that one is a skit.
This video was amazing Ugo. You did an excellent job with this. I'm glad you elaborated by talking about other relevant cases too! And the amount of interaction you're giving your community in the comments... incredible. Thank you for being you!
I love to see more of the longer versions. But, I watch every short of yours I see! You are fantastic explaining the law!
The in-depth analysis is so welcome. Its nice to get a longer explanation on the verdicts and why/how they happen.
Ugo! Your skin looks amazing. Please create more long standing content. 😌
I was actually super self-conscious about doing a long form video in 4K without any make up or anything, so I greatly appreciate your kind words! 😂 hahaha and I’m so happy to hear that you like the long form content as well! I’ll be sure to make more if you continue to enjoy them! Thank you! 🥰
Ugo!! Thanks for bringing us all the great content.
Hi Ugo! Just a tech tip- because that Yeti microphone is actually a cardioid mic, you shouldn't talk into the top of it. Talk into the front, where the blue logo is. Hope to see more longform content!
Could you do a longer video or include in the next one the "double sided" mirror in school?
What a great request on an old video, but a very good video! That is a great idea! In fact, that’s a phenomenal idea! I’m on it!
LONG FORM VIDEO FROM UGO?? best year
Thank you for your videos. Hopefully a great 2024 🎉
Very much like your long format. It also gave us a better introduction to you. Thanks
I just now realized that that in the first video the scooter MERGED INTO THAT LANE AFTER THE CAR STOPPED. They made an unsafe merge that caused the accident.
Yes! We need more of this content from you ! 👍 Exciting stuff. Love the more in-depth explanation of your personal verdict!
Thanks for the great content!! Keep it up!

Legit a dream come true, been waiting on longer form content ❤
More to come!
Fun format to get more detailed view of things. Looking forward to more.
Thank you for your videos, they are fun and informative delivered with great personality. Although we are in Canada we watch these just until you start explaining, pause and have a back and forth about who we think is in the wrong. It’s caused some heated debates in the house! Turning a short video into an hour long discussion. 😂. We always learn and are sometimes surprised completely. Keep up the great work. 😊
Well done 👍
The last one is just a moral compass for the people. It is either file a taking or not.

The way you explain the law after the videos with such a POSITIVE ATTITUDE AND INFECTIOUS SMILE, I really enjoy watching and look forward to your videos,I agree with other commentators, you should do more of the longer youtube videos if you have time, very EDUCATIONAL AND INFORMATIVE 👍

There are of course other lawyers of who already do this kind content, some who even do live commentary on trials as well. It's always interesting getting different overall perspectives.
Love the energy and excitement in what could be boring and technical from others
your content has real world impact. Great stuff!
Hi Ugo, I watch your shorts whenever it crosses my feed, and although i live in australia, you always make it interesting for me to take a glimpse into American laws and regulations though real-life scenarios, and im very grateful for all your hard work and lawyering that has brought you here. Recently discovered your videos. Exceptionally entertaining and educational. Keep up the amazing work. ❤
Amazing video, as others have said the long form is very entertaining. The shorts are also entertaining but the time limit makes it hard to follow all the details.
Would love to see more like this in the future!
This was enjoyable. I like the long form content.
Another great video! Keep up the good work!
I definitely enjoy all of your shorts!

@UgoLord love the shorts. I've learned some things from them and been entertained by some of your humorous conclusions. I also really enjoyed this recap and deeper look as some of the more controversial videos. Keep them coming, long form and shorts. Keep up the great work.
Enjoyed your long video, I liked it so much I finally subscribed. Your shorts are are funny, but the extra explanation was great.
Keep up the amazing videos bro! Also... is Lord your real name? Lol
I love the fun and information I get from watching your videos. Thanks for posting,,, I watch them all.
Very interesting video's and explanations. Keep up the good work snd keep the win streak going. If it's not to invasive around how many cases have you had in your tenure?
Yes, please keep the long form videos coming!! This was so fun to watch.
One comment on the kid with the donut in the face of the cops…you’ll notice just before the cop hits him, Donut Boy makes a sudden move with his skateboard in the left hand. We all know of cases where a skate board has been used to cause serious physical damage. Is it possible that an officer saw that as a potential threat and acted in response to the sudden thrusting forward of the skate board? That’s the only thing I could see in playing devils advocate.
He jerks because the officer swips at the donut in his face. The cop escalated either way.
I love the long form content! Thank you so much, Mr. Lord!
Love the long form! You seem like such a genuinely nice person!

I have been binging your videos and the long form is even better! Tysm! And sorry for any fights in comments. :/
I love this long format!
Another one Joining the Chorus. I do enjoy your short form videos Ugo, However Theirs a reason why I Have watched more of Dustin's videos (Legal Eagle) because I'm a sucker for digging in and seeing the nuance and depth of case law and how it matters to common civilians as lets be honest. 70% of civilians either don't know the law or have a misconstrued idea of it. Which makes videos like these oh so powerful and educational. You have done a Legendary job making shorts not be a entire ugly sess-pit of dumb content. But I'm with the masses that can say, You have earned my subscription for Transitioning to Long form videos. I look forward to seeing more from you. And thank you for your service and education. I am sure you make a stupidly tiny fraction compared to your law practice (If the room behind you is indicative xD ) but your time spent here is priceless to the world at large :)
