    Hi Whitney! 🌻
A good video, you hit on many necessary points for me.
I really like, and plan, on getting that bench scraper.
I also put my cakes in the frig to help with frosting them, it does work!
Looking forward to your future helpful hints on frosting cakes.
    Especially the sprinkles!! 😁
    Have a nice day! 🌸

Hi, new to the channel and already subscribed and have notifications turned on lol. Quick question, when you say chill after crumbcoat do you put it in the fridge or freezer?

I attempted my first cake last weekend and your videos have been sooo helpful. I was trialing for my daughter’s birthday this weekend so I’m in the process of round two now. One issue I had with the first trial was there were a few spots where I literally could not get frosting to stick. I had done a crumb coat and chilled, frosted, filled in, chilled frosted again and it still was so so thin and you could still see the cake through. Any tips to help troubleshoot?

Hey, Whitney! Thanks so much for sharing this video - couldn't have come at a better time lol. I'll be frosting a cake tomorrow, so this will be handy! Do you have any tips for achieving a dark colored buttercream (red) without affecting the consistency of the frosting? Thanks so much! ♥️♥️♥️

Yay! So happy that timing worked out! For achieving a dark red buttercream I love using Americolor Super Red: amzn.to/30uBcGK. It's really concentrated so you don't have to use a whole lot to get a rich color. Other than that, be sure to color only the amount you need (it's easier to get deep colors with less buttercream) and make sure you let it sit for 30 min or so because the color will get darker over time.

Whitney thank you. I have struggled at times to get the frosting smooth and even. I haven’t been crumb coating and refrigerating first so the sides aren’t perfect. I noticed that when I smooth or comb it, the smoother or comb isn’t hitting the top layer. I tried filling in but it kept happening. Maybe crumb coating and refrigerating will help the top coat to stay more even on the top third of the cake.?

Hi Monique! Is your icing smoother taller than the cake you're frosting? That is the key to getting smooth sides all around without missing any spots.

Can I use whipped cream frosting instead of buttercream? And will it be smooth like that? I have done ganache and buttercream but wanted to use whipped cream frosting… thanks!
