Thank you so much for these tips. I ended up buying the Americolor “Bright White” because of you. Lol Also, your video was very thorough. I appreciate that. #Newsubscriber
Could u plz do this same tutorial on buttercream without the whitening?? Then compare the whitened vs unwhitened using the same amount of ameri colour. Thx
Do you mean how would the colors look if you started with a more yellow buttercream? While I would love to make videos all day long they do take a lot of time! If you're concerned about starting with a yellow buttercream I do have a vanilla buttercream recipe that ends up pretty close to white as-is! Here's the link: sugarandsparrow.com/vanilla-buttercream-recipe
@@SugarandSparrow thx for your reply. Just cause they are oil based so they say they mixx better with buttercream. I do indeed like the americolour from your video! Haven't invested in any colour brand yet. Thx again for your wonderful content!
Yes, the white color gel (or icing whitener) will make your yellow buttercream whiter in color and shouldn't affect the taste or consistency. This is the icing whitener I love: amzn.to/3wwTqGu
Doesn't work. The liquid food coloring is water-based and by the time you use enough to get ANY color at all, your frosting has changed too drastically. Always best to use gel. It is unfortunate as gel colors are pretty pricey! I looked up some of what she uses and one set was $125 and one was $170. I would never be able to afford those!
Hi it would be great, If you could do a tutorial from scratch on baking a chocolate cake, with ingredients, and how long to mix the wet ingredients and after mixing them all together how long does it take to mix the whole batter with techniques and tips... Coz most of the times the chocolate cake bubbles and spills over the oven when we try to follow any baking video on CZcams
Wow...your pans must be too small or something! And are you sure that your ingredients are well mixed together? If you begin by using a boxed cake mix until you get the hang of it, and you follow the instructions, I cannot imagine why you are having these issues. At least with a box to follow, until you actually master some baking skills, you don't have measuring/etc. involved. THEN go to attempting homemade baked goods.
This is the best tutorial so far. Thank you♥️
Oxidation is deepening the colors...the longer it sits at room temp the darker it will get ...thx for a nice tutorial💯💜
Ooh so good to know the term for the deepening of the colors! Thank you!
That also happens in the fridge, doesn't it? It doesn't have to be RT for oxidation...
Subscribed I fast. Thank you for making this way to follow video.
Thank you so much for this tutorial and for sharing your knowledge, experience and expertise. I learned a lot 😊 God bless!
Yay! Thanks so much and I'm happy to help!
@@SugarandSparrow hi thank you. Now I understand why I never got the navy color.. Because I used Italian frosting or merengue
@@SugarandSparrow question if the person can't eat chocolate butter cream how to make that black intense or red

Hi! Can i use gel colour on whipped cream?
This was so helpful ❤ can you teach colouring with Swiss meringue buttercream?
Yay! So happy the tutorial was helpful! I've actually never made SMBC before, but once I learn how I can totally teach how to color it!
Swiss and Italian are much tastier and lighter :)
@@MilaHrischeva I'll have to try those someday!
@@MilaHrischeva They take a lot more work, too!
Hi. Would this method work on cream cheese buttercream?
That was so helpful, I'm making a unicorn cake and needed to know if I needed liquid or gel. I'm going with gel to get pastel colors. Thank you 🙂👍
So happy to help, Quin!
You always want to use paste gel coloring with frostings! Liquid colors are water base and change the consistency of your frosting.
Amazing! Could I possibly have the recipe for the American buttercream please?
Of course! Here you go: sugarandsparrow.com/vanilla-buttercream-recipe

What do you think of colour mill vs Ameri colour? Not sure in which product to invest!
I've never tried colour mill before! I love AmeriColor though!

Can you teach us how to do blue buttercream different shades please thank you
Hi there! You'll just need to choose a shade of blue food color gel and add it in one drop increments until you get the desired shade.
@@SugarandSparrow thank you
Hi my buttercream is yellowish
Would i only put white gel color in it to make it white ?will it affect the taste?

You totally can!

Can we use liquid colour?
Hi Suma! You technically can, but I only use gel colors because they're more concentrated/tasteless.
I think if you add red and yellow and more blue together, you wud end up with black
