I've been doing a lot of research online regarding use of DE shavers and just shaving techniques in general. After watching several of your videos, I'm definitely going to switch over to a DE blade. Just ordered a Merkur HD and a box of Astra blades based on some of your reviews. I think I've just picked up another hobby. Your reviews are by far the most informative and enjoyable to watch. Thanks for all the info Geo.

Terrific instructional video. I use a beautiful 1962 Gillette Super Speed. I was born that year, so I though it would be nice to replace my first shaver with a vintage Gillette.
I've never needed to shave as close as you do and a second pass is as far as I go. Sometimes just one pass.

Ive heard that safety razors are much more gentle with your skin (if you dont use pressure, never use pressure with safety razors), what you could do is use some sort of skin treatment after you've used After Shave (depends which one is the thinnest, use what is thinner first), since i havent started shaving yet and since im still pretty young i was thinking about buying myself something to help prevent acne and razor burn.

I won't ask what safety razor blades I should purchase as I know those are personal preference, but I was wondering what safety razor would you recommend? I saw your review on that straight razor with the replaceable blades. Would that be a good model to pick up? As I've been interested in straight razors minus the care and prep as I don't feel confidant in my abilities to strop etc.
