That's how no death/hit runs should work. It's not much of a challenge if a player can savescum over and over until they get it right because anybody can do that. It's part of the reason why I dislike CZcamsrs like Mittensquad.
Kompf option 1: waste literal days of your life grinding away to get unlucky, have to restart, and eventually make yourself hate what you loved
Option 2: save scum and preserve the fun aspect of challenging runs
Also, hating mitten squad for save scumming in games with hitscan weapons is the most ludicrous thing to be angry over.

People who do professor oaks challenges are a different breed. In gen 2 you have to save scum the slot machines to buy a dratini to get a dragonite before misty
Funny thing, there's another challenge youtuber called MahDryBread who has had to Viridian Forest power level in ways never before thought of. Half his Gen 1 runs require it.

Thank heaven the odds -truly- weren't against him and he had gone on to miss again. Rolling 255 on a D255 for two consecutive turns would have had destroyed him and everyone watching.

First of all, that was absolutely amazing. Second, I really feel that Nintendo/GameFreak should look at this video and have an official statement publicly congratulating you. You didn't cheat, you played the game as originally developed and you literally "used the game to play the game and beat the game". Yes, the game is broken (lol) but that isn't your fault.

@@gen157 It's basically about the main character getting access to more abilities and being prepared to an insane degree. The rest of the series is as funny as the first episode, so if you found the first episode funny I would definitely recommend. Plot wise the main character fights the demon lord's four best guys and then fights the demon lord. Finish the second episode to see if you're interested from a plot/battle point of view. But if you neither the first or second episode seemed interesting, then I definitely wouldn't keep watching...

I love how this turned into a video that was as much about your friends and inspirations as it was about the run itself. Adding Pikasprey as the rival, and letting him commentate during his battles, made this that much more epic.
Agreed, it gave the video a lot more personality than the typical challenge videos on CZcams and I *loved* it.

Pikasprey's voice is so emotionless as usual, he actually makes for a great rival/villain. 😂
I love some of the lines he ends up saying in that deadpan tone thanks to a combination of his adversarial role, VG Myths's tone, and oddities of the game.
