This is a little bit inaccurate, he wasn't facing the "sea" because sugarloaf Bay is a river that flows in from Sydney harbour, their is no beach. I've fished the exact spot she was attacked and it's only a few hundred yards wide, their is an old derelict ammunition building right near where the attack happened and that's where I used to fish from. That area is literally crawling with sharks even today. I have even seen a great white breach in Sydney Harbour just out from where the ferry services dock near base of the bridge.
I have known about this tragedy for a very long time, ever since I read it in the book by Alan Sharpe " Shark down under shark attacks in Australian waters " which was published in 1993. It covers a lot of shark attacks over the years, even some of the ones that you have covered in your CZcams. It's a good read, so if get a chance or lucky to get a copy of the book, I reckon you'll find it informative.
News reports say they were on a boat and friends dared her to swim and they both jumped in so there are different stories about this one..even noting the ambulance broke down needing to be pushed and another had to be dispatched but she had bled out...
Just thinking out loud here: Is there a correlation between sewage and sharks? I remember hearing how good the fishing was in Sydney when its untreated sewage went straight into the harbour. This became unacceptable and in the early sixties Sydney's sewage began to be treated, and the good fishing declined. Is it possible that Sydney's harbours were shark infested due to the amount of sewage present?
Sharks are the reason i will not even stick my little toe in the ocean. I played in the ocean uo to my knees 1 time back in the 1980s before i really thought about sharks. Now with all thie videos out about them, no way will i go close to the shoreline.

REALISM isn't pretty alot of the time but it assists you in not being wrong as much.🤓👍🏻
Never heard of it but will definitely take a look
Oh, survivor. If they filmed off Australia or SA they might have an issue. Places they go to like Vanuatu and others have had attacks but not as frequent as the hot spots for sharks. It is more surprising no Drone has caught an attack with all the whites watching humans in the waters
@@SharksHappen They're in Fiji permanently now
This is a little bit inaccurate, he wasn't facing the "sea" because sugarloaf Bay is a river that flows in from Sydney harbour, their is no beach. I've fished the exact spot she was attacked and it's only a few hundred yards wide, their is an old derelict ammunition building right near where the attack happened and that's where I used to fish from.
The octopus is just what she thought it was at first and it's just because of the texture of (probably the sharks mouth)
This is the spot she was attacked,a kayaker filmed a large bull shark there a few years back.

Love these videos ❤
Hello.Good Afternoon Hal 🦈🦈 Happy Shark Monday 🦈🦈
I used to do the knee deep rule that is until i watched this channel and found the truth !!!! now just feet deep rule and i play on the shore where a shark has no chance at me ! However if shark is yelled I still run all the way back to me car just incase they are created by some mad lab coats in a underwater lab that escaped and go on shore you never know these days !
There is a crazy video of a guy with his dogs on shore and a saw fish comes out the water tryin to get one if them…
All depends on the scenario, this attack was 2ft of water that shelves really deep into a river that's only couple hundred yards wide and a bull shark highway.
Of course a tsunami could come in, and then the sharks will be all around you and your car. Just waiting for you to get out!
That area is literally crawling with sharks even today. I have even seen a great white breach in Sydney Harbour just out from where the ferry services dock near base of the bridge.
Damn horrific. Bullshark for sure. My condolences to the families.
I like the octopus mention, it's interesting. Hal, could you do a giant squid attack episode Halloween special one day? Not many people cover those.
I’m sure Sugarloaf bay been mentioned before at less once in attacks
There are so many bull sharks in Sydney Harbour and the Parramatta River, this is before my time but have heard some horrific stories.
In Cape Cod, New Seabury, they have nets in the water too.
I dont think i have that one. Will look
I'm Australian where can I find this book please
How about you don't let your fiancé swim in anything attached to the ocean?
Is this rocket science? 😬
News reports say they were on a boat and friends dared her to swim and they both jumped in so there are different stories about this one..even noting the ambulance broke down needing to be pushed and another had to be dispatched but she had bled out...
It’s saying a Bull Shark is the culprit in 3 different articles!
Where's the nearest swimming pool ? Rest in Peace Marcia
Reminds me of the attacks off Recife? Brasil...
It's still teaming with sharks their spotted and caught all the time, just hasn't been an attack since the 60s
Well that was a “Quickie”!
This area is notorious for bull sharks. Middle Harbour is a shocker for it.
Hey Hal I'm waiting for your new show and I hope it is soon
Check out the attack on Paul de Gelder in Sydney Harbour, 2009. It's an interesting one. Luv the show Hal.
So sad and tragic.
Its got to be a bull shark as its there MO grab your pray drag it out to deeper water but sad story 😢
They got her into an ambulance, but it could not get up the wet slippery bush track..Fact.
I also say bull shark as they are known to swim and attack in shallow water.
That is the dearest part of Sydney Harbour. The Navy use it for dive training. You don't swim there. Big sharks.
So sad. I don't want to see that type of thing happen. Her poor husband had to watch her being dragged out! I hope he is OK.
Sharks are the reason i will not even stick my little toe in the ocean. I played in the ocean uo to my knees 1 time back in the 1980s before i really thought about sharks. Now with all thie videos out about them, no way will i go close to the shoreline.
The shark didn’t know she was an actress.
Or did not like her work
Yeesh 🦈
Great Video Hal&I don't swim with sharks, gators&saltwater crocs are nile crocs& I stay in swimming pools ,I agree with you we are much more afraid of sharks than sharks are afraid of us&sharks do eat us,darn scientist they claim other wise are wrong let them ask Liyod Skinner who was ate by a minibus size greatwhite dat ate Skinner for dinner&the tiger shark that ate Valdimar yelling help papa&ot ate each arm&part of his face&chunks out of him&his legs,&Simmon that was swimming in Australia&fishermen witnessed a 14-15 greatwhite eat him alive whole right then.May all the victims RIP's well Rest In Pieces no pun intended but if they had chose to swim in a pool they wouldnt have been turned to a shark turdhead&then into a out right turd no disrespect intended on the truth. To the Victims God Speed!!.
My question is what does it hurt to tell people that in the case of 4 or 5 species the shark will eat you if it decides to. Just tell them it is just sharks still being sharks and would not have happened had humans stayed out if their waters
@@SharksHappen Agreed!!
May Marsha Rest in Peace.
I was bitten by a goldfish once.
I don't bealive its an accident either
. We have meat on are bones. I just remember 21yr old Jorden they bit her butt😢😢😢 This attach really upset me 6:10 🦑It was three tiger sharks😢😢😢 RIP Jorden. God Bless that Mom❤❤
Sounds like an octopus pretending to be a shark.
For the life of me I never can understand why people are willing to risk their lives by entering the natural habitat of sharks ( mans unnatural habitat not meant for humans) and literally inviting them to bite and attack as they are eating machines!!! People are just naïve and undiscerning and taking risks they never should! Lack of COMMON SENSE!!!
Been awhile since I’ve been able to watch shark happens . I’ve been getting ready for the new spearfishing season 🥰🥰🥰🥰
