  • I bought this guitar recently as a replacement for one of my main songwriting and performing guitars and man it’s cool. From the inlays up and down the neck and headstock to the satisfying smooth finish on the back of the body is a perfect guitar for the intermediate and experienced player who wants low action, good tone and great looks.

    I have an Ibanez AVC9-OPN from several years ago (it has a solid top and the whole top was thermo-aged). I always have a Martin D-28, a Martin 000-16 and several other guitar.
    The Ibanez was really a low priced guitar, but it has an amazing sound, and it's the easiest playing guitar I've ever seen. I have this Ibanez sitting beside me all the time and play
    it all day long. SALUTE to Ibanez for making a guitar this great at this price! I love it!

    Thanks for a good “Non Biased”review.. These Ibanez is made on the Cort factories, and the structural and sound quality appears good on the art wood series. I feel Ibanez master to handle laminate well to the extend they kind of tune the laminate with thickness and clue characteristics for optimal sound.. (like Takamine and Yamaha also master). I got several high-end full-solid guitars, but love to play my Ibanez EVN11 (Grand Concert) from the Art Wood Series, as the heat treated woods and guitar build up really serve a amazing sound and projection. I just replaced tuners right away.. I also had some dust lacquer issues, but nothing a soft touch with 1000grain sandpaper can’t handle.

    Absolutely love mine. A little warmer, richer than the spruce. Just gorgeous up close. And the action is very close to an electric. Very easy to fret for an acoustic. My go to practice guitar. Over the PRS.

      That’s great to hear! I’ve used mine a tone over this last year too and it’s held up great. Best plugged in sound out of any acoustic I’ve ever had!

    Go ahead and lemon oil your fretboard. The wood will love you for it. A slight darkening at first but will be nearly unnoticeable after a few days.

    I've been playing one at the local music store and really like the way it plays and feels. I tried others including gibson and taylors. But still prefer the ibanez. Do you have a problem with it being built in china ? I noticed a lot of people do with china made guitars. I don't. I like it and will probably buy it. Thankyou.

      I think Chinas quality has been pretty good over all for guitars so that doesn’t bother me at all. I would however like to know more about how they run the factories. That answer would be the only one that could sway me away from recommending these.

      Would you buy one over the other brands. And does ibanez stand behind it and do you think there behind the product. Ex. Build guality out the door.

    what do you think about the Ibanez AE245-NT? I really don't know if buy that guitar or the AE295

    • @hoffguitars479
      @hoffguitars479  Před 6 měsíci

      I’ve never played an AE245 but I know they have a spruce top so it will probably be a little bit louder. There are speced the same so I’m sure they are good guitars.

    I have a question, i want to buy this guitar, but it seems really small compared to other acoustic guitars like yamaha, am i correct? If yes, is that a bad thing? I mean, if it’s true maybe that makes it more comfortable but with a poor sound when it’s not amplified.

    • @hoffguitars479
      @hoffguitars479  Před 6 měsíci +1

      It’s actually a lot bigger than most Yamahas I’ve played but it’s still pretty comfortable.

    What set of strings do you have on the guitar?

    • @hoffguitars479

      I just put elixir polyweb .13-.56 and I’m not sure what to think about them yet. They play good but I haven’t decided if they are right for this guitar.

    How is the action of this guitar??

    • @hoffguitars479
      @hoffguitars479  Před rokem +2

      It’s really low for an acoustic. I need to adjust it slightly for the lower tuning I use so it doesn’t buzz on the lower frets. It’s extremely comfortable to play.

    I own this guitar , it definitely feels good , action is low and easy to play metal and blusey solo stuff as well
    Its pretty big though i wish it was thinner and the body wasnt as fat like u say at the bottem ,, something more travel friendly would be sick but i play alot in lower tuning so kinda scared to see what something else with shorter length would feel and sound like
    Might sell it for something else
