There used to be two Roundhouses... My friend was one of the teens that burned it down... May 1990, I'll never forget it... 13 year olds playing with fire and lit some pallets on fire, it got out of their control, so they hauled butt instead of telling anyone... I lived in Martinsburg up until 1999, and was pretty glad to get out. It has a lot of interesting historical places to see, but growing up there, talk about being bored out of your mind because there was nothing to do but hang around... Though, if anyone lived there in the 80s and 90s, they may also remember the comic book shop owned by that creepy old dude that everyone called "Lester the Molester" and he was a creep, I'm sure he earned the name... His shop was awesome, but he was really creepy.. I was 16 when he told me he wanted me to wear a tiny bikini and stand outside of his shop holding a sign to attract people. He never touched me, but that's probably because I never went into his shop without my boyfriend, who was 18, but was also 6 feet 7 inches of "don't mess with me". Man had to be like 50+ at the time. That's actually the Blue White Grill, That "Blue White Restaurant" sign went up in the 90s when Martinsburg started to really develop because a lot of people were living there, but communicating to D.C for work, for a while, Martinsburg was known as a suburb of D.C. You can see the original sign Blue White Grill is still there. I'm kinda happy to see that place is still running, same with Bob's Carry Out (130 N Raleigh St), if you have not been there, I recommend their Taco Pizza! I used to live next door and would go there as a child almost every day to buy snacks. The house I lived in is so old now, that I don't think it's being used anymore. I remember the floors being a bit slanted because of how old it was, it was one of the few homes that still had the coal chute that led to the basement.

I did a video on Shepardstown as well, unfortunately the videos I made in Harper's Ferry and Charles Town were "corrupted files", so I'll have to head that way again. I think I'm going to try and refilm them this fall when the leaves start turning.
