Blackstone - the end of the line.

I've rode through the town before on the way to family in North Carolina. Such a cute little town, would love to spend the day there if I could.

Too bad couldn’t get the tattoo shop across from the old police station in this video. We have strived to offer a safe,fun place to Ahoskie. But like what much of you see there they would rather go out of town and support out of town businesses so most everything is closing.

I moved there with my family and lived there for 2 years until we moved out, I miss boykins so much. So nostalgic

Cool video! My Mom grew up in Suffolk. We’d go there to visits my grandparents a few times a year from just past Roanoke. Trip down memory lane!

I grew up here and my mom and papa still live there. Love this town. My now husband went to chowan and we moved. My kids are so amazed at how kind people are there. Just ready to have a conversation wherever we go when we visit my mama. I miss it so much

Did you purposely ignore everything Black in Chase City? You breezed over everything like Thyne Institute, even at MacCullum More. REALLY???? You could have included the memorial for Thyne. My Dad and four of his siblings graduated from Thyne. Thanks for ignoring something precious to my family.

I just finished watching your video 'A Look Around The U.S.S. New Jersey,' and it was fascinating to see the inside of such an iconic battleship. Thank you for sharing the tour! I'm curious, were there any standout features or areas of the ship that particularly amazed or surprised you during your visit?

I grew up here. It was a busy place when I was a kid. It had several grocery stores, drug store, farm supply store and a lumber yard. There was even a commercial stable for horse sales like in the old west. It is also where the Virginian (N&W) and Seaboard (CSX) crossed. The other part of town was down beyond the lumber yard, but the businesses there are completely gone.

Heard any stories of the Ghost near, Early station rd? We parked at RR crossing at 417 early Station rd and walked at least a half a mile down the track. Me and several friends had heard about Ahoskie ghost in the late 90s and checked it out. Was there over an hour and saw lights go back and forth faintly at a far distance. It could have been lights from a vehicle of course. But when we decided to finally leave after being there nearly am hour. One of us yelled for everyone to look amd we all turned around to see what looked like a train light no further than 100 yards away. The light was so close we would have certainly seen the light bouncing off whatever was holding it but nothing was. I never ran so fast in my life i was so scared. Ive been several times since amd saw something every time but nothing like my first experience there. Regardless i loved the presentation. Walked around Ahoskie once and I had somewhat of a personal miracle happen to me there. I won't mention here but had to walk for hours looking for my car 😂 Was nice reminiscing on a memory from so long ago.

Thanks for the Video. I am a former crew member. Served onboard form 1983-1987 as a Gunners Mate in G4 division. 5inch guns. We were also responsible for the Armory. Funny Story. At around the 50sec mark on your video you cross the anchor chain. I did that once when we were manning the rails when pulling into port. I was new onboard. a GMGSA (E-2). I was on the starboard side and was directed to go to the port side. I did that by crossing the anchor chains. A few seconds later I had a Master Chief Boatswains Mate (E-9) grab the back of my arm and asked me "what did I see you just do?" I now being in the grasp of god himself got very nervous and had no clue what I just did. I told him I did not know. He then tells me that he never wants to see me cross those anchor chains again. Never did it again. So when I saw you do that the incident flashed back into my head. I had a wonderful time serving on board her. She is a beautiful ship. The museum crew and volunteers are doing a wonderful job.

You know thats the same train line that runs to Waverly via Petersburg?

If i am stationed at fort lee would this be an ideal place to own a home and rent a home later i would perfer to be in chester but saw a cheap new build house out here just need to know if there is convenience to weigh out the 30 minute drive to lee any comments would be much appreciated

My grandfather was from Fayetteville. I have never been there, but drove by last fall. Guess they were mainly farmers but he became a dentist and moved to Greenville S.C. in the 1920's. Sweet gentleman I am told. You should film Greenville. The downtown area has been redone and is lovely. Columbia also.

What you are talking about was a B52 mid air breakup in the early 1960s that dropped 2 atomic weapons that by the grace of God did not explode the reason theydidnt was a 75 cent switch One bomb was recovered the second they were unable to recover all of it To this day the core is still buried underground on land the government bought and put a fence around and keep a check on it to check for radiation

My mom's hometown. I remember visiting my grandparents there when I was younger; they lived on the outskirts. My uncle by marriage was vice principal of the local high school a couple of decades ago.
