I own the Tex Critter's band (seen in the storage unit in this video). My show was AVG's in house show and was later sold to someone who wanted to learn how to build animatronics. He eventually abandoned them and they were saved from demolition from a couple of SFX artists, and then sold to me. It's the only (currently known) surviving complete show. They've been in my storage due to their size and inability to move around, but I completely disassembled and rebuilt Country Cal. They'll be set up on a stage and fully restored when I move into a bigger place next year. They're in extremely good hands and I'm looking forward to bringing them back to life!
That’s amazing! We recently discovered the Tex Critter’s Band and learned about the fate of the animatronics 😔 but then we watched your video about them and it made us feel really good knowing they’re safe and sound, thank you so much for rebuilding such amazing animatronics!!
I must say that I respect people like you. The reason I respect all; of you is you take your time and hard earned money and you save the animatronics from being lost for ever. Every time I hear that someone has saved an amazing and old band of cool singing and instrument playing animatronics it makes me excited. I have never been able to get to see any of these growing up. I grew up in the 80's and 90's and I never got the chance to see any of these play. And its sad that there are no longer places were you can go and see them in mint condition. But at least they are still around and I am hoping to someday get to see one of the old bands play. Thanks to you all who do care about these one of a kind gems.

I love hearing about the Fright Dome FNAF attraction. I grew up in Vegas and actually went to it. God it was so cool, even if a bit underwhelming. So much nostalgia surrounding that attraction.

We don't allow cameras through our haunted houses, also Scott cawthorn never met anyone at the end lol unless it was opening night or something. He was definitely not there.

I feel so bad when animatronics get abandoned bc i LOVE bands like the rock afire explosion and the circus playhouse band, they have PERSONALALITY. make an animatronic: you made a masterful work or engineering, give that animatronic a relatable personality: you made life. so when animatronics like that get scrapped, its heartbreaking, it feels like you abandoned a pet, its awful.

man.. animatronics creep me the hell out. they look lifeless but at the same time, they look lost and forgotten. it’s really hard to believe that once they entertained so many families and friends.
I remember Jocco from six flags. That ride scared me as a kid just because of him 😅 not to mention we went the year before Katrina and during Halloween week.
I'm really glad to hear that last bit about Will Russel being better now, the whole funtown mountain thing always made me so sad because it wasn't even a bad idea just so many factors were out of the poor guy's control and it all went downhill. This is the first I've ever heard of this and I'm baffled why that gets left out.

No, they just stopped using the characters after the haunted houses were over. As Fastpass said in the video, they had to put them on some kind of list because of how many people have been making references in the comments
They don't get abandoned, they put them in trailers for storage,only reason I know is cause I worked there they weren't animatronics either, just props. The other thing is that fd doesn't have a contract with Scott anymore, it wad specifically for the single haunt and that is it. It was one of the lower rated houses too, no scare factor, terribly paced etc.

Y'know, I admire the people who restore old animatronic gems and the ones who continue to work on them, like Fechter for example. A lot of these bands are incredible, and they have so much to offer. It's just amazing to see that people still believe in the magic of these bands and make sure that more generations can be able to experience that special spark these animatronics have.

It’s very sad to see things abandoned. The company’s should be made to clear up after themselves if they can afford it before going on to build other things. It spoils the look of the land having things rusting and rotting away and it’s dangerous.

Animatronics endoskeletons eyes are not connected to the mask, so when the animatronics done, the eyes will look like they are gonna fall out. They will also look very loose.

The western village that is abandoned could really make a fortune if the place was renamed to "Western Hell", so basically it's like an old western town that was empty and filled with mysteries... From the weird noises coming from the mineshaft, the creepe animatronics inside an antique museum, a frightening haunted wooden mansion, some broken building, an over grown vegetation, a dirty and scary lake, a train ride around the old town and more to be explored.

I actually got into animatronics and theme park history and operation BECAUSE of Five Nights at Freddy's. I had always enjoyed all that stuff as a younger kid, but in my mid teens I REALLY got into it, because of how creepy it could be. Abandoned attractions, disassembled sets and figures, scrapped show scenes that still have leftovers in the final ride, shrouded in darkness above your head, it's all so awesome.
So camelot has an interesting story. It was actually bought by a housing firm called "Story Group" in late 2009 and was leased to a company called Knights Leisure for a few years, before its actual closure in 2012. A lot of the park was sold off. My old work bought the 2-tiered carousell (sir lancelot's chargers), the carts for Dragon Flyer and the carts for apple coaster (i think) as well as apparently a few different bits and bobs for the ghost train. I know for a fact they had some of the mannequins from the ghost train as i used to see one of the torsos stored near the place where they moved the broken down carts to. They also bought the ferris wheel from the park and i have seen the gondolas in storage but no sign of the main mechanism.
My old work also bought the ghost trains carts apparently and modified them to seat 5 people instead of the original 3 people by adding an extra pair of seats to the front (and i have to be honest they didn't do too bad a job with the modification, and believe me that's rare for them). I did have a look around my work before i left and i saw no signs of a dragon animatronic, but i know they had a few very old and very dodgy animatronics on the ghost train which was apparently built with a lot of props from Camelot so its possible they ended up with it. Can't confirm that though.
I actually remember going to camelot as a kid and i do remember having a few bits of merch from them, along with remembering going to the jousting show. They were one of the biggest parks in the area so its a shame they closed down. I tried emailing Story Homes when i was about 16 asking if i could film the park with their permission for a school project, though they never responded for obvious reasons!
I believe they now keep trying to send in planning applications for the surprising act of building houses, but i think they keep getting denied. Either that or their holding off till the housing market picks up. They have regular security on the site as of currently i believe to avoid legal action or further vandalism.
