  • This is a tutorial for beginners on how to replace your faulty or dying fan. It covers both fans and the differences. It lists the problems to look for and a step-by-step guide how to resolve them. You can also upgrade your RAM, SSD, and swap your battery if you choose to do so. This gives a brief rundown of the location and methods you’ll need for those as well. This exact model is a 15-Ch011dx but will cover many similarities most similar models. It’s much simpler than you’d assume, it just takes a little practice to get used to working on small electronics. Use the proper tools, follow the video, and you got it.

NOTE: The WRENCH and CLOCK icons at the beginning title are part of a RATING SYSTEM that I created. The chart/diagram is at the very end of the video. You can assess my builds and repairs by this chart. It is used to scale the time and level of expertise required for each project that I upload. It is a rough estimate, and based on what I’d consider averages. Therefore, some may do it much faster, or slower.

Hi, if I'm understanding you correctly, it seems that your laptop has multiple lines on the screen, but they only appear after it warms up for a while. The odd thing is that it's happening after you've dropped it. If you dropped it, it's likely that the screen needs to be replaced. There's a small chance the cable is slightly loose (depending on how much you move the laptop when using it), but from the limited information, I'd have to assume the screen needs to be replaced. Screens that start to pixelate after heat intensive processes, or heating up, usually have to be replaced as well (but this is usually a manufacturer defect). The only thing I can suggest to try, for free before buying a new screen, is a program that may correct stuck pixels in screens. Try www.jscreenfix.com/ as it's based on web and you don't need to download anything. It sounds as if you have dead pixels though and not stuck. Sometimes you can gently put pressure where a dead line is and it may correct it (but this is also rare). You may also want to notate the colors of the lines (black, white, multicolor) and where they are (if they're in the same place every time, etc.) If you must replace the screen, make sure to match your exact model's screen (this laptop has 2-3 different model screens) because the pin connectors will be different.

hey I have a hp spectre x3660 mmodel. I want to upgrade RAM. In my task manager i see that i have 2X16 GB ram, DDR4 2667 MHz. Now I am only getting 2x32 Gb DDR 4 3200 MHz Ram, can i put that ? is it safe to assume that the motherboard will just run the 3200 MHz ram at 2667 MHz?

Yea, I believe that as long as it's DDR4, you're good. The MHz should just match. You may also want to pay attention to the clock cycle on the RAM, sometimes you can do better there. You can search your mother board and see what the max specs. Good luck 🙃
