Excellent explanation my friend thank you. I just bought 3Dcoat today for this very tool. Probably need to watch this a few more times. big thanks. 👍🐺👍
that dot in the middle of the texture is an interface. click on it and you will be able to move scale rotate the projection right at the texture. you can even move the interface around to pivot around the projection any way you wish. so click that dot then use the expanded out tools it shows you. they show as green usually.
Yes you can use it for PBR and stylized workflow. It's not as sophisticated as Substance Painter but it does the job well. It's worth purchasing if you are doing small freelance jobs or personal projects. However if you are working for AAA studio they might ask for the Substance project files - so you have to keep that in mind!
I'm a professional Dev and I've used it for years. Integrated it into different workflows. What I can say is that the design sense that behind it is a little bit different than what you've probably encountered in other applications. For me that is a win because for example I am not a fan of zbrush, it has never clicked for me. So at a minimum I would say it's worth looking at and seeing if it feels like something that works for you.
In this case if you would use Photoshop, this would be only one hot key instead. I think it CTRL+SHIFT+P - I just refuse to use PS. I do wish there was support for Affinty Photo. But I get your point tho and I wish too there was a faster way to do this!

Looking good!
Is it possible to use this tool for AAA game assets/pbr workflow and stylized?
Thanks,
Keep up the good work! :)

Please how can you smooth out the textures after painting
3dcoat has a smooth brush!
looks like a powerful program but the interface seems atrocious. Just to lay down a simple stencil projection you have to do like 10 steps......
