That's amazing.First we had PBR materials now we have true layers so for paint you can apply the layers as they would have been manufactured in the actuall painting proccess and then as you said apply scratching etc to reveal what's underneath.
This is amazing! unrelated question, I noticed the way you're navigating around the scene seems a bit diffrent, curious to know how? are you using a 3dmouse?
@@industrytuts5272 very welcome! It should be standard I feel , not wearing off peoples hardware :D Keep up the good content. I am a new born 3D Coat enrhusiast and I appreciate these intermediate tuts!
@@industrytuts5272 3D Coat really milks your CPU for getting these hundreds of frames...which are not needed. Once V Sync is set, you limit to 60fps and your cpu will have muuuch less load. Think of it similar to vsync for preventing coil whining on a gpu.
From the menu that first pops up in 3DC, did you choose Voxel Sculpting? I think you have to start with that, then you can jump back and forth between the paint room and voxels. Hope that helped.👍
@@industrytuts5272 thank you for the reply, yes I tried it, the function seems to be there (the default depth setting under brushing), and I can sculpt the mesh and reveal the inner texture; but there just no “voxel paint depth” option when using the fill tool :( idk why
@@industrytuts5272 I'm doing all the points you make, & I am currently on 2022.53 on a Mac & Voxel Paint Depth is simply missing from the menu. Loving your tuts by the way, especially this one - I had great fun running through it last night.
@@electricpig7823 Unfortunately I'm on windows only and don't have a Mac to verify. But I'm on the latest version 2022.54 and I do see it there. Might want to post to the 3dcoat forum at 3dcoat.com/forum/ and let them know you're not seeing it on the MAC. Sorry, hope they help get this working for you. I'll also post the question on the forum as well. Cheers. Thanks for the video!
Great video!
Fantastic ! Added on the "test" to do list :)
Wow I totally misunderstood the new paint/sculpt feature. Great demonstration!
Mighty Cool ! ☺️
Atleast someone told me how it works............. . .. . .. . . . .. .

Yes, I'm using a 3D Mouse. Best purchase ever.
Can you drop your smart materials pack somwhere?
You might wanna enable "V-Sync" in user preferences to take the constant unessecary load of your CPU.
Under "Viewport"
Thanks! I'll give that a try. Wasn't sure what the benefit of V-Sync was for sculpting, so I never tried it.

@@harrysanders818 Thanks, it definitely helps on heavy sculpting! Great tip!
this is unreal
I'm using version 2022.39 on m1 MacBook, I don't see the Voxel paint depth in my tool option... is this feature unavailable for Mac users?

@@aidelank Are using the Fill tool from the paint room? It's only available in the paint room, it won't work with the fill brush in the sculpt room.
