970 is a 3.5gb card, not 4gb like you were thinking. going over that 3.5 cap is a massive drop in performance, if you forgot the 970 had a 512MB section that was insanely slow compared to the rest of the vram.
I feel like I heard about that a while ago, but yeah I completely forgot. You don't work with 970s much nowadays 😅
Either way, low textures were definitely the play, and Im assuming that is a good chunk of why his game felt so much smoother.
@@klemintime1452cpu I5 3350p gpu gtx 650 oc 2gb 12gb ram here . 30 fps all the way with fsr 2.2 performance resolution 1280x720.

Hey man, thank you for all the settings/performance guide videos as they have helped me a lot. I am currently in a weird scenario where I upgraded everything on my pc except for the GPU as I didn't want to go all out this month. I upgraded to a 7800x3d, with 32GB of 6000mhz RAM and a Samsung 990 pro SSD, but I am stuck with my GTX 1080ti from like 6-7 years ago. I watched your GPU bound video and copied most settings out of it, but I still don't think I did it correctly, as I get 100% GPU usage at all times. Would you have any recommendations for me, I am down to also be a part of a PC Sherpa episode if that would be an interesting scenario for a video. Thanks once again. (I think my comment got deleted because I tried to leave an Imgur link to my settings and CZcams did not like that)

Have you considered testing turning off Meltdown/Spectre fixes?
This is actually nuts, I was getting stuttering, freezing, 40fps low settings on a 3070 5600x. I turned off one setting, Nvidia Game Overlay, and now im getting 200 fps...
The gtx 970 only came out 10 years ago, surely it can run streets right?
what i would do to get you to fix my setup. i feel like i have a fairly decent pc build. 2070 super with i5 intel. i know i could have a better cpu and gpu but i cant tell you how bad it is to have 27 fps on streets. ive watched so many videos on how to boost fps and still cant get above 40 on most maps.
hi bro, i have rx580 4gb, ryzen 5 5600, 16gb 3600mhz ram, this wipe on shoreline i barely hit 60fps, two wipes ago i was getting 80 maybe u know what can be the problem? on lighthouse i get 70-85,cant seem to fix it shoreline is unplayable and i have loads of quests there, no amd fsr btw
So after much fiddling and watching Klementimes suggestions,I managed to get my bottlenecked i7 9700k at a manageable fps/frametime. By oddly turning 2x supersampling on, shadows high, med textures, my rtx2060 6gb has now a significant usage increase and weirdly smoothed my stutters. Just had to becareful not to overflow vram. Having that increased GPU usage will make the time that each part is working on the frame more equal (as in the CPU busy and GPU times are more in line) so that you don't feel those CPU hitches as hard. Glad I could help :D

Hey how are you i have a question. In my game i have some issues when im aiming with a sniper scope, my fps get so down that i can't even move the mouse to shoot. There is any fix for that or i just can't use that kind of scopes? Thanks
FPS decreases for everyone when they scope in, but decreasing that hard seems like a bug. If you can, hop in our discord and make a post in our help forum so we can check out your specs / system to see whats up.
Have play 3 years with i5 4670k and after i7 4790k and my legendary GTX 970 *o* . Street V1 55/60 fps and Lighthouse 65/70 but 35/40 in the chalet (in my opinion the drop in fps is caused by too many poorly or not optimized objects)
i9 9900k and 1080ti, i got some better, but feel cpu is still bound heavy and could get better fps still
3080, 10900k, 3200 32gig ram, streets around 60-90 depends what, scope im using. Using like 20-30% cpu, gpu around 25-35
I believe Streets are more of a broken netcode FPS locked. Its just too many PMCs+player Scavs
Its good to find videos like that in detailed, but for my part i want to ask a question ( my pc i7-8700, 1080Ti, 16gbRam-3000 Xmp enabled) , i play the game smoothly in starter maps ( woods- ground zero-factory) but streets is a pain at the moment when played too often or alt tabbing too often , or making it a last run after playing the game for 5 hours or so, and when i check Ram on MSI afterburner i see its using 13gb+ with spikes of fps from 25 to 45 ups and downs, but when i open the game at first and play streets map first its fine without stutters and decent 60 -70 fps , what could be the problem ? ( also gpu and cpu runs at 35-45% both same values all the time which is weird cuz other games its 80-95%)
I don't know much about this stuff, so I may not be entirely correct. Tarkov has always had memory leak issues and that's what I think causes what you are describing. I think you just need to restart your game every few raids or something like that. I always restart mine, about every hour or so, especially if I feel my FPS dropping or any kind of stutters and it always helps.
Thanks for the reply, i followed some settings from Klemi , made my GPU went to 100% most of the time ingame , and CPU 35-40ish, which is good i guess , but now i get input lag where when i try to ADS it flicks the screen for a sec , or when i run also it does the same in all maps which i only had in streets before those settings, weird game i would say...@@0x2A_
Was the RAM speed really just a visual bug, or did they have the RAM slots populated improperly? I know that can significantly affect performance.
It was a bug. Someone else in my discord had the same setup and it behaved in the same way. Still relatively low speed ram at 2400 Mt/s but its definitely in the realm of normal then lol
Hi man, i just upgraded to 5800x3D and i was wondering if i should still use process lasso and disable SMT or not with this CPU? I'd really glad if you could answer it , i really love your content, thanks.
Test it and see, but I'd say its likely not necessary unless you're seeing weird inconsistencies with your framerate or with CPU utilization. If anything, just use process lasso to help control other processes that you rarely use in the background instead (like RGB software, for instance).

X3d chips are generally considered the best for tarkov iirc. Seems like that'd be overkill, but who knows.
maybe i'm dumb, but what do you use to measure your cpu and gpu usage? Is it a command on the console like fps 1?

Hello @klemintime1452, my tarkov stutters alot in the menus, specially in the traders sections, it goes from 60 frames to 30 or less .. do you know whats the root of this problem ? Or a solution ?
No one is magician here. Write down at least your PC specs and windows version you use just for a start.
If this dude would want a challange with settings im getting 20-40 fps on any map and i dunno what to do xD

I would give anything to be able to use your knowledge for my setup :(. I have a dual PC setup - my streaming laptop is NVIDIA and my gaming PC is AMD. I'm trying to get the best picture for the stream and my PC but really struggling to find optimal settings. Your help would be immense maybe even for a video for the AMD users playing tarkov right now :)
I really want to make an AMD guide, but I just don't have the funds right now to set up that build. *Most* of the tips are the same, but obviously there is AMD Adrenaline, Ryzen Master, Etc. that I want to touch on. Hopefully, I'll be able to get the funds soon!

Not really- the 1030 is the reason why your performance is likely unbearable. The 5600 is able to handle most maps in the game (besides streets) but the 1030 is killing ya there.

I have a 8700k with a RTX 3070 GPU. I OC the CPU up to 5 but didn't improve the performance. I even followed your tips but nothing really helped. Could you help?
Its always amazing for me how ppl rocking RTX still having performance problems. Btw. what exactly is your problem ? How many FPS you have and on which settings ?
35-40 on busy areas in Streets, Lighthouse and Shoreline. In Rogues Camp, I get instances where the game don't let me use scopes anymore, It unscope me when I ADS. 32 GB of DDR4 3200 RAM don't even help and also CPU and GPU utilization are capped on 60% on average. I've tried every video to try to improve but at this point I'm done @@TheFerumn

It's not displaying it incorrectly. This was common. My potato still shows half the speed shown.
Yeah, its showing DRAM frequency instead. I never ran into that happening before (hence my reaction in the video) but we cleared that up later on.
My little 2600 is still hanging in here... barely lol but we're still here

you just don't know how to use your PC correctly
Ive done my own research with my settings and my own pc. And i found auto ram cleaner. Caused me to lose 2-3 fps. Mip streaming caused 10-12. Post fx caused 15-25. And use all cores gave me plus 2-3
Auto RAM Cleaner and MIp Streaming can both slightly lower FPS in CPU bound scenarios, but each come with their benefits to RAM and VRAM consumption as a trade off. Post FX should only hurt FPS when youre GPU bound, and that should also be only through Clarity and Adaptive Sharpen (as seen in my PostFX guide)

2600x "low-end" far from it, fix the ram speed issue and he's golden, im rocking a i7 3770, 1060 3gb and 16gb DDR3 still walking around streets at 40-45fps no stuttering, show a real challenge. the ram speed on a ryzen is by far the biggest problem in terms of performance in a game strickly CPU heavy, fix his silly low MHZ speeds probably due to miss-matched memory and he'll get WAAAY more fps in raid, the gpu plays VERY MINUTE part in tarkov.
Dude can you help me? I got exactly the same CPU but with a gtx 1080ti and Streets is unplayable on my end. I also got 24Gb of ddr3 ram running on 1600Mhz.
The RAM speed was 2400Mhz, not 1200. That was simply a issue of task manager displaying DRAM frequency instead of our normal DDR speeds we are used to seeing. To achieve 40 FPS with a 3770 on streets does seem fairly impressive- its likely the hyper-threaded quad core still punching its weight there. Memory *has* to be an issue for your though. You're likely at lowest 1080p with a debloated windows install and just skirting that playable territory when things heat up. Still impressive though!
(Also the GPU does play a part in Tarkov performance when you hit 100% usage on it- you hit a GPU bind. At the end of the video, you can see he gets very close to that with FSR completely disabled)
@@PepeBros Those three sticks of ddr3 are probably the issue as they are not properly running in dual channel. This guy likely has a better response though as he has that system directly.

You consider 16 gb ram low end 😂😂, you would have a heart attack if you knew what I’ve ran on a pc with 6gb usable ram 💀 I’ve run games with a minimum 16gb requirement. 😂
I had better results on even worse PC than his. This stutters shouldn't be a thing on his PC unless its trashed with background stuff.
I recommended he repaste his CPU too to help with the temps (as I thought there might be some bad behavior with those) but he is upgrading very soon anyway so he'll be off that build.
