How is the battery life screen on time compared to the fold 4 ? i have the fold 4 also thinking of getting the V2 or waiting to see what vivo 3 or z fold 6 bring
@@aleks4067 the magic V2 is wayyyy better in the battery department. I'm honestly getting about 8 to 10 hours SOT without really trying hard. I was getting nowhere near that on the fold 4. Maybe 5 or 6

Bought this phone, just arrived, looks beautiful, copying data from my OnePlus 7T onto this now wirelessly (copying via the cable didn't work unfortunately, it couldnt detect the cable)
I had to use A-C cable with A-C OTG reduction to make data transfer happen the last time I transfered data from OnePlus to Samsung.
Can't agree more. My love at first sight too. On my HK trip, when I saw it in the store, I immediately bought it. Even it was a Chinese version.

Did you find a way to log in to HONOR Services with Honor ID on a Chinese Honor device?
(mine is the HONOR Magic 6 pro)
Really interested to hear your thoughts of the camera. The openplus open seems to have good reviews for photo quality but I'm really tempted by the magic v2
I'd wager the V2's cameras will be comparable to the Open at worst. It's even realistic to expect them to be a bit better, but both devices should be decent enough for 99% of users. Other than that, the V2 looks way more pleasing to my eye as a form factor. Something about the Open's proportions just bugs me. And the minimal crease on the V2 as well as being essentially as slim as a regular slab phone when folded just wins it for me. The new battery tech also is a big plus imo. The silicon carbon batteries, sadly, have yet to come to the global market from Huawei despite them being the ones who developed it. At least Huawei patented the technology two or three years back when I checked. Good to see that at least Honor started rolling out devices with it outside china.

I got mine delivered today! With the earlybird bonus and trade in bonus I got the phone for £1199.99 and hope to get a free pair of headphones too!! The display is great, when looking face on there is no visible crease. Such a good profile folded and opened up. Your reviews have kept me focused on biying this unit. I look forward to you sharing all of your information, hints and tips woth this great phone!

Q) Do you recommend still having a case/screen protector either on the inside or cover screen on the UK version? You mentioned it comes pre-installed, must be really thin since I am unable to see it. Any screen protectors you can recommend if one is needed?
I use this phone without a case. very comfortable. I just installed the safety grip sticker.

Yeah im also interested if you can adjust font size cause in this video it looks like fonts are just huge.
The fonts he AD has setup are to help him with his impaired vision. He mentions this is one of his other videos.... you can personalise the text size and fonts, as with most Android devices the customisation is pretty good 👍

Picky question from me after just purchasing this. If I have a video on full screen, when I change from front to back or back to front, this loses the full screen. Is there any way of keeping this full screen when moving between screens?

Hey Mike, as always we all appreciate your content......After buying the v2 last week in the United States... everything is working perfectly except one thing. I have no microphone access whenever I'm connected to a Bluetooth device. Whenever I'm on a call, in my car, on my headphones, etc. I can hear the other party perfectly, but they can't hear me at all... As if I am muted. Any thoughts?

Hi bought my v2 in December from your site to Wonda mobile and yes they were fantastic ship Tuesday arrived Thursday lunch time to uk,They installed google services for me/google play etc and removed a lot of the Chinese Bloatware, Question is will my phone update to the full global version in the future as seem to remember you saying it would
Got Android auto installed but does not work and my Samsung watch will link for calls but nothing else,still some Chinese stuff on it and wondered if it does update to the Global rom will all that go.
Still a fantastic phone 512gb for £1185 in December.
Any feedback back much appreciated and also your site is FANTASTIC.

Question on the fonts. Are they so big due to a setting you're using or is that how it looks? Been very tempted by one but the interface on some screens looks very strange with odd formatting and as silly as it sounds I like a clean looking interface.

Have to say my outer screen protector came off quite quick after 2 months max and since then picking up lots of scratches and scuffs on outer (not drops etc)
I'm on the fence about picking up a global Honor V2. Currently have a Pixel Fold in the US. Does launcher have Google feed on the left? Can you pin the dock like you can on galaxy fold and OnePlus open? Can't do this on pixel fold, drives me nuts!

Not all countries sim supported in honor phones.. it is global but not fully... Please guys do check your country region before buying as volte services wont work everywhere n even while using 5g or 4g it won't work during call.. that mean your internet stop working during call n keep in mind even voice calls are supported thru internet n volte services means calls also will drop.. i m from india n here its not working i have tried on honor magic 5 pro n honor 9xb ..
I'm very interested in this phone or the Magic 6 Pro in global version. I live in the US so I don't believe I can purchase from Honor directly which leads to the no warranty issue. I really wish the US had Chinese phones available without warranty issues. I loved my Vivo X90 Pro Plus and also interested in the Oppo X7 Ultra but sadly no global version.
Sorry, I'm sure this has been mentioned before. But isn't one of the colors thinner than the other and lighter? Between the different honor magic v2s
There is a variant with a vegan leather back which is 9.9mm thick, and there is one with a glass back which is only slightly thicker and heavier.
Evening @AverageDadOfficial, there are a few things i would like to know, let's go!
1. Has the stiffness of the hinge improved compared to the Chinese version? Can the HMV2 stay open at more angles other than just 90 degrees?
2. Can you show video of the phone multi-tasking and swapping through windows or apps? Would like to know how it compares to the multi-tasking of the O+O.
3. Does the phone overheat badly if watching Netflix/YT or playing games for a long time?
4. Do apps make use of the full inner screen or do they have borders, scale badly?
5. Can you show gaming from a few different games using the inner and outer screens?
6. Do you have a link for the Honor stylus that is compatible with both screens? Is it worth getting a Honor stylus or are other stylus compatible?
7. Will there be new global foldables released in the first quarter of 2024 in the UK and will any be on contract

Very informative, very specific on apps and daily usage like wear OS fir instance. A review that is making me really close to buying the V2. It still is very expensive but the launch price includes a 6 months screen warranty plus a Marshall device.

On the Chinese V2 with Google services do u get notifications on time and all the app icons on always on display 😂😂😂
I do get all notifications immediately. No issues there.

I've been a Samsung fan since day one I've bought every model fold since it came out the only one thing I can't get use to it's how thick it is and the small front screen, I'm planning to buy the honor magic v2 but I'm skeptical on the software as its like the Huawei phones that look a bit cheap, would u recommend it to me been a Samsung fan?
You have your IMEI # of your device in your videos, not sure if you care, but you should know that.
The fact that it's still on Android 13 is a testament to how late the device will be receiving updates. Has Honor been clear about what their update policy is for these international versions? Thanks for the video!

It's not an easy feat to update OS versions my guy. It's not a testament to anything. Plenty of devices ship with 12, 13 and 14.
Especially considering OS updates are no longer mutually exclusive with security updates, I think people have poor expectations on this topic

I have had the delivery of both the Oneplus Open this week and the Honor Magic V2 (UK version), and today the V2 was sent back to Honor and I am keeping the Oneplus Open. I was not overly bothered that the V2 was a little thinner than the Open. The V2 was actually more difficult to open to full screen as it has round (plastic feeling) edges whereas the Oneplus Open has flat stainless steel edges similar to an iPhone. The software on the V2 is in my opinion nowhere near the polished experience of the Oneplus Open (or the ZFold 5). The V2 Software is just a bit clunky and not that intuitive when it comes to the main screen and lacks a variety of split-screen options that the Oneplus has in abundance (even more than the ZFold 5). Even the on-device video explanations on the Oneplus Open such as how its haptics work are just so polished, and that's the word I would describe the Oneplus Open with, it's extremely polished, whereas the V2 maybe has the crown of being thin but at the same time also being thin on the ground with its lacking software. I wanted the V2 to work for me as it was a cheaper device after all the discounts, but I guess you get what you pay for and the Oneplus Open is in my opinion the king of foldables for the time being!
A pass from me at this price. Sorry honor released too late in Europe. Oneplus open much much better
